Chapter Five: Jealousy?
FatedAt one point in the interview they were each asked, one by one, to perform some sort of personal talent. They all were really cool and interesting. Tao did Wushu, which was awesome. Chen did some of his awesome singing. Luhan showed his skills on the rubiks cube. Xiumin sang part of a Chinese song. He did really well with all of his pronunciations. I was impressed. Kris rapped a few lines in English, and last but not least was Lay. I was thouroughly surprised when he pulled out a guitar and started singing. I was quickly drawn in. It was mesmerizing. And then when I learned that he had taught himself, I was even more impressed. Once he had finished, I was still in a bit of a daze, staring at him. I finally snapped out of it when I saw him look up at me. I blushed and looked away. Over his shoulder I could have sworn I saw Kris smirk at me. I cleared my throat softly and prepered to translate some more.
The interview eventually ended and the boys all greeted and thanked everyone for their hard work. They tiredly walked off stage. I was busy giving back my mic and discussing a few points with another worker. They all headed off to change. I continued to help here and there however I could. I heard someone clear their throat behind me. I turned around to see a young woman.
“Excuse me. EXO wanted to see you really quick if they could.” She said. I nodded and thanked her as she walked off. I wandered the halls untill I found the room where they were all sitting. I walked in and they all shot up excitedly.
“Mei mei!” Xiumin ran over, closely followed by Chen. He took one of my hands in his. “We just wanted to thank you!” he said.
“You’ve been the kindest and friendliest translator we’ve ever had.” Chen continued for him. He smiled at me with his typical bright grin I had gotten used to seeing during the show. The others all joined them.
“Yes. Thank you for being so kind to us today. It has been a pleasure to work with you.” Kris joined in. I felt his smile was just a tad too bright to simply mean that. There was something else hiding behind that grin. It’s like he was supressing a laugh. Hmm… silly duizhang.
Lay POV
I felt my eyes narrow as Xiumin grabbed her hand. I knew I had no real claim to her, and he was just touchy like that, but still. Kris looked over at me and smirked. I shot him a quick look. He winked and started talking to Nina. I have no idea what he said, all I know is that he had some idiotic grin on his face as he tried to stop himself from laughing at me. I glowered up at him, hoping he’d notice out of the corner of his eye. He did, but that only caused him to smile bigger. Stupid duizhang. -.-
Then Kris started to go on about something in English. She looked up at him in surprise. I guess she didn’t know he spoke English yet. Why is he so multi-lingual!?!? Nooo! Now I can’t censor what he says to her! UGH!!! DUIZHANG!!!!
