Chapter Eighteen: Roommates
FatedTao took me around the whole apartment, showing me all of the rooms. “This is manager Hyung and my room.” He stopped by a door. “We can’t go in now because Hyung is sleeping. He’s really tired for some reason…” He thought about for a sec. I wonder why? I thought sarcasticly, rolling my eyes. This kid can be so hyper sometimes. “Manager ge doesn’t stay here all of the time. Only sometimes. Usually he just comes to get us in the mornings or something.” He continued on, “This is Duizhang, Luhan gege, and Xiuminie gege’s room.” I peeked in. You could definatly tell what belonged to Xiumin. The guy was so neat. The others were pretty neat as well though. He pulled me along to the next room. “Here is Yi Xing gege, and Chen gege’s room.” We walked in. I looked around, curious to see how Lay lived. Lay followed us in and his eyes widened,
“No! It’s so dirty in here! I’m sorry! Let’s not show this mess to Nina.” He began pulling me out and I laughed, but before I was fully out of the room, I looked over at his dresser. Resting against the mirror was a picture: it was of the day we all spent at the park in Shanghai. I smiled. It was the second picture where we were all making funny faces, except for Lay who was turned towards me, laughing.
We went back to the others and all sat down together. “So, SM hired you to be our translator, right?” Kris asked me. I smiled and nodded,
“Yup! You guys finally succeded in convincing them. Thank you for your help!” They had been sure to tell everyone exactly how they felt about me being their translator, and I have a feeling that all of their positive comments had a lot to do with why I of all people was hired by one of the biggest music companies in Korea.
“No! Thank you!” Xiumin said excitedly, clapping his hands together. Lay spoke up,
“Didn’t you have some bags with you when you came?” I nodded,
“Yeah. The company told me that I’m supposed to stay here for now… possibly permanantly…” I stood there awkwardly saying these things. Tao clapped happily at the idea of me staying here with them, but then his face fell,
“Where is Jiejie going to stay?” he asked cutely.
“Oh, I’m sure we can clear some room for her somewhere.” Xiumin winked.
“Yeah, don’t worry. For now… you can stay with…” Kris thought about it for a moment, scrutinizing every member,
“Chen and Lay. How about that?” My eyes widened and so did Lay’s. Chen just sat there smiling, still not totally understanding what was being said. Luhan leaned over and translated for him.
“Oh! Ne. Noona’s welcome!” He just smiled peacefully as always. Kris smirked and I narrowed my eyes at him. This guy… He’s so mean to Lay and I. I looked over at Lay and he looked at me. We simply blinked a few times as each other. I then sent him a tentative smile. He quickly returned it. Xiumin cleared his throat,
“You all need to go clean your room if Meimei is going to stay with you. She could just stay in our room. It’s already clean,” He grumbled the last part and Kris laughed. “But we already have three people, Xiumin. One more would be too crowded.” Xiumin hmphed in response. Chen and Lay looked at each other and ran off to go clean up some and make room for me. I shook my head and laughed as they left. Silly guys. It wasn’t even that dirty…
