Song Hwansoo
Hwansoo is the only daughter of the king of the sea. Hwansoo has a pure singing voice that is mesmerizing.  She knows what her duty is as the princess, but lately she doesn't bother following her duties. She has become curious of the surface, and continues to visit it because of one handsome male’s voice. She made a deal with the Sea Witch Seungyeon and gives up her singing voice in order to become a human.

  
Nam Wooyoung
Woohyun is the Prince of the Kingdom by the sea.  His father noticed that Woohyun’s personality changed when his mother drowned.  His father remarried and Woohyun gained two brothers: Sungyeol who is only a few months younger and Sungjong who is two years younger. It took time for Woohyun to get used to his brothers, but know they are almost like blood brothers.  One night he went out with Dongwoo, Myungsoo, and his brothers and nearly drowned.

Lee Sungyeol

Sungyeol is Woohyun’s step brother who is only a few months younger that him.  He doesn’t act his age.  His nick name is choding and he lives up to it.  Even though Sungyeol is Woohyun’s step brother they act like blood brothers. He enjoys pulling pranks. His main target is always Sungjong.

 
Lee Sungjong
Sungjong is Woohyun's step brother who is really smart and always knows when his older brother Sungyeol is planning to prank him.  Sungjong loves reading and he always seems to be reading fantasy novels over non-fictions.  He hides his fictional stories in his non-fiction books to trick his mother.
  

Kim Sunggyu

The kings advisor and he looks after Hwansoo. He covers for her often. He treats the princess like she is his little sister. He loves her and would do anything to make her happy. When she gives up her voice to become human for three months he decides to follow her.  The merman becomes a human, but he is limited to how long he can have legs because he has to report when summoned to the kings about what is going on.

Lee Howon

He is Hwansoo’s guard and his main duty is to protect her.  He was tricked by the princess when she went to see the Sea Witch to become human.  When he finds out what she did the king granted Hoya legs to protect his daughter.  He sends Sunggyu to go with Hoya. Hoya has mixed feelings about Woohyun because of his personality, but he eases up because the way the princess looks at him.
 

Jang Dongwoo

Dongwoo has been Woohyun’s friend since he was little. His father is the king’s advisor and he grew up with Woohyun. They are the 2Woo’s after all. Dongwoo has a crazy personality.  He and Woohyun went for a midnight sale and something went wrong. Dongwoo almost lost his best friend, and he never wants to experience that again.

Kim Myungsoo

Myungsoo is really quite and just tags along.  He is friends with Sungyeol and Sungjong, but became friends with Woohyun after hanging around with him and his brothers a few times.  He seems to always be lost in his thoughts. He does not trust Hwansoo being around Woohyun, Sungyeol, or Sungjong.  He finds he strange.

Han Seungyeon

The Sea Witch who is always in competition with the king of the sea.  She wants to be in control of the ocean and kidnap the souls of the men who drown in its waters.  She doesn’t want to do what the king does. He lets the men who drown become mermen if they have a pure soul.  When the king’s daughter comes to her asking to become human; she uses this as he chance to take over the sea.

Bang Yong Guk

He is the Sea Witch’s brother even though they are not blood related.  He is sent by his sister to make sure Princess Hwansoo does not fall in love with Prince Woohyun. Yong Guk follows the princes and causing her to get into dangerous situations.
