You sighed, finally reaching your destination. You were standing in front of the SM Entertainment building, trying to figure a way to get in. Today you were supposed to have a day off with your boyfriend Kai. At first, the plan was for you to go get Kai from his dorm room and take around and pretty much just relax the whole time, but once you got there Suho told you that he hadn’t been in the dorm at all today. You couldn’t think of anywhere else he would be, so you drove back to your apartment to see if he was waiting for you there, but there was no one. You huffed, frustrated that you couldn’t find your own boyfriend. It then clicked to you where he could have been. That being that was the reason why you were standing in front of the SM building. The problem is, not many know about your relationship with Kai. Just the members of EXO and their manager knew. You thought that if you walked in, asking to see if Kai was here, security would come and shove you out the door thinking you were some crazed fan.

You decided to just walk in and hope for the best. You’ve been in the building sometimes, but usually you would come in through the back with Kai and the other members, so nobody here really knew who you were. As you reached the front desk, a nice girl who seemed your age was on the phone and shot you a quick smile, mentally telling you she’d be done in a minute. She then hanged up the phone and looked at you.

“Can I help you?” she asked.

“Yes, uh. Do you know if Kim Jongin is in the building?” you asked, biting your lip in hope for a positive response.

“Do you know him personally?” she shot back, giving you a bit of a glare. She seemed so nice before, she must be really good at her job.

“Well, you see.” you then stopped, afraid to actually tell her that you were dating Kai. “Actually, I’m his girl-“ you then gasped at someone who was hugging you from behind.

“___-ah!!” you heard a low voice yell out. Smiling, you instantly knew who it was. You turned around to see it was Chanyeol still hanging onto you.

“Hi oppa.” you said, giving him a small hug back. “Have you seen Kai?”

“Yeah, he’s still in the practise room.” he answered you. You felt your heart drop, why was he practicing? You thanked Chanyeol as he let you past the front desk, walking up the stairs to see your boyfriend. As you got to the room, you peeked through the clear door to see Kai dancing alone. The way he would move his body made you shiver. You always admired his passion and always helped him with anything that he needed. Just recently, he injured his ankle from practicing so much. It killed you to see that he would be so upset if he would have to miss one practice.

You always looked at Kai’s facial expressions. The way it would change to every difference dance. Most of the time, he would have that bad boy attitude, giving off smirks. But then when he would stop dancing, he would become himself again. The bubbly, laughing Kai that you were in love with. Once the music stopped, so did Kai, walking over to his bag taking sips of his water. You then walked in, grinning. He turned around and smiled, walking over to you and giving you a hug. As you hugged him back, he winced and started to tense up. He then let go, pulling some of your hair behind your ear and gave you a kiss.

“Why are you here oppa?” you asked, still curious.

“I wanted to practice a little more.” smiling, you asked him if he was ready to go. He agreed to leave now since it would be dark in a couple of hours. As he walked over to his bag, he stretched his arms upwards revealing his toned lower back. You narrowed your eyes, shocked to see what was on him. It looked like bandages.

“Oppa, what’s on your back?” you asked, pointing to his back. He stopped in his tracks and looked at you.

“Oh, it’s just one of those heat things. My back has been a little sore.” he stated, rubbing his back. Your mouth hanged open, shocked and worried. He has been practicing so much recently; it’s starting to scare you.

“If you’re sore, you shouldn’t be practicing Kai. You need to relax for a while.” you said. He looked down, playing with his thumbs.

“Don’t worry jagiyah, I’m fine. I promise.” he said, grabbing his bag off the floor and walked up to you grabbing your hand.  “Let’s go now I’m starving.” you both laughed and made your way out the door.

For the past week, your boyfriend Kai has been getting more stressed. With everything going on with Exo, he has been working so hard lately you forgot the last time he slept. The dark circles under his eyes would be so much worse than the other members. You had to confront him, explain to him that he seriously needs to take a break and relax before something horrible would happen to him.

The next day, you were planning out what to say to Kai. It was hard to change his mind when he was so determined to do something. The phone started ringing, making you jump out of your chair and run to the kitchen where the phone was.

“Hello is this ___-ah?” the man on the other line asked. You answered back a yes and asked who this was.

“My name is Dr. Park, I have some bad news about Jongin.” the doctor explained. Your heart stopped beating.

“W-What happened?” you almost shouted through the phone, but you tried your best to stay calm.

“Jongin is at the hospital. He collapsed today during his dance practice. He is suffering through exhaustion and he injured his waist.” you shut your eyes tight, cursing at yourself. I should’ve confronted him earlier.

“Is it alright if you come over right away? You are the closest to him at the moment.” you were confused, until you remembered his parents were out of the country on holidays. You instantly grabbed your purse and keys before you even agreed to come over. You then hanged up, putting the phone back and rushed out the door.

Five minutes later you reached the hospital. You had no idea where your boyfriend or the doctor could be. You asked the lady at the desk and she brought you over to the room Dr. Park was currently.

“You must be ___-ah.” he said, giving you a small smile. You smiled back, but he noticed you felt so anxious to see what would happen.

“Don’t worry. He’s going to be fine. But I think you should talk to him and try to convince him to take a break with dancing now so his waist can heal properly.” he explained. You nodded, telling him how you were going to the next day.  The doctor then walked you over to his room; you peeked through the small window to see him lying down on his back, facing the opposite way. You quietly walked in, assuming that he was asleep until you heard him sniffling. Your eyes widened, feeling so much guilt.

“Oppa?” you whispered. He shot his head to the other side to see you. His eyes were blood shot red, tears just falling out of those beautiful eyes. After he saw it was you, he went back into his original position, covering his face. You walked over to the other side of his hospital bed and brought a chair over as close to the bed as it could, sitting down. He was still covering his face, shaking from crying. You rushed your hand through his thick brown hair, starting to feel teary.

“P-Please don’t cry oppa.” you whispered, trying your best to calm him down.

“I-I’m so s-sorry ___-ah.” he said, his face still buried in his hands. You grabbed his hands away from his face and held them, rubbing your thumbs over his knuckles.

“Sorry for what? You didn’t do anything wrong, don’t apologize.” you said while shaking your head. You then let go of one of his hands, whipping away his tears.

“I just. I d-didn’t want t-to disappoint you a-and the members.” he spat out.

“Kai, I’m already so incredibly proud of you and so are the rest of the members.” you explained, moving forward to give him a kiss on his head. “I was so worried about you. Please don’t ever over-work yourself.” you finished. Your boyfriend sniffled one last time and nodded giving a small smile.

“I love you so much jagiyah. I just want to make you happy.” he said, he tried to sit up a bit but couldn’t because his waist was in so much pain. You shushed him and pushed down lightly on his chest, telling him to lie back down and not move.

“You do make me happy oppa.” you whispered, kissing him on the lips. Kai couldn’t help but kiss you back, feeling so much warmth coming from you.

“I love you too Kai.”
