AUTHOR's POV

          After a fun-loving day Winter and Ningning had yesterday, it's hard to tell whether it'd be just as good as today. 

"Where were you guys yesterday?" is the first thing that came out of Karina's mouth when she saw Winter. They are both in the hallway waiting for the others. 

"I, uhh..are we in trouble?" 

Karina rolled her eyes before speaking, "No, but you almost were. Please, don't do that again." 

"That's good to know. It was worth ditching school then." Winter chuckled and Karina could only squint her eyes at her. 

"You know, after a draining week, I badly needed that. It was fun." she could only smile as she reminisce her moments with Ningning yesterday. She wasn't able to pick Ningning up today because she had to be in school earlier plus, it takes a long time for the younger girl to get ready.

"I envy you. I wasn't able to hang out with Jeno. Well, I was but it only lasted for like half an hour." she sighed.

"What happened?" 

"Family matter." a silence occured for a moment until Winter had to ask her.

"So, how are things between you and your mom?" 

"Things have gotten worse, for me. I just...don't want to talk about it right now." 

"Right, I'm sorry." Winter immediately apologized for bringing up a sensitive topic. 

When they sat by the bench, Karina sees Wonyoung making her way towards them. "What could it be this time?" she asked Winter before Wonyoung could even come closer. 

"Hey, guys, I want to invite you this saturday for my 20th birthday." Wonyoung tells the two as she hands them over an elegant-looking invitation. 

"Wow, you look pretty." Karina complimented upon seeing Wonyoung's photos. 

"Thanks. You're welcome to invite your friends as well." Winter could only sit in silence, remembering how Karina used to warn her about talking to Wonyoung. "Winter, you have to go, okay?" 

She just faked a smile and nodded her head as a reply. "I'll see you around." Wonyoung said before leaving. 

"You seem bothered by something." 

"Do you think Wonyoung is into me?" the sudden question made Karina's eyebrows raised. 

"I don't know. From the way I see it, she is." she answered. "You're worried about Ningning, aren't you?" 

"I mean, it's just a party but I have to be careful with my choices. I don't think she'll like it so I won't go." Winter's words made Karina smile. 

"You're finally starting to learn something." she joked.

"I wouldn't do something that would upset her." 

As they wait for the others, the two of them got bored that Winter ended up taking a nap. Karina noticed her struggling so she leaned Winter's head on her shoulder. 

"Ah, she must've been tired." Karina murmured. 

As she observe Winter's face, she realized that the younger girl has puppy-like features making her giggle because of Winter's cuteness. 

She then brought out her phone carefully and took photos of sleeping Winter on her shoulder. 

"Cute." 

She was about to send Ningning the photo when suddenly, the annoying Shin Ryujin appeared and startled Winter. "Yah!" Karina yelled, slapping Ryujin's arm in defense.

Ignoring Karina, Ryujin proceeded to approach Winter with an annoyingly sheepish smile on her face, "You naughty girl. Ditching school for fun. How did it go?" 

"Go away." Winter told her, not wanting to tell her any details. Thankfully, she didn't bother her no more but Winter couldn't go back to napping anymore. "Thanks for ruining may nap." she sarcastically told her best friend.

Winter thought about Ningning the moment she opened her eyes, feeling bad. She should've just picked her up so they could go to school together. The only reason she went to school this early was because she thought they were going to do something important. Little does she know the girl she's waiting for already arrived. 

She dialled Ningning's number and the girl immediately answered the call. "Hi, what's up?"
