"Do we have to go?" Jiyeon questioned as they held hands up several flights of cement stairs. 

Daniel turned around a few stairs above her.

He nodded. "Yes. We're important guests tonight."

Jiyeon shook her head before sighing. Why? Why were they going to meet her? 

Lee Chaeun.

Jiyeon had only agreed because Daniel had told her they had made plans. It seemed so awkward. Didn't she like him?

Jiyeon had no interest in competing with a love rival over dinner. Much less coming over to her house.

"She really wanted to thank you." Daniel revealed with a smile.

Jiyeon was beginning to regret telling Daniel about what she had done. After all it had very little to do with the cheerleader. It was for him.

They finally reached the shabby apartment on the 5th floor. When she thought about it the older building reminded Jiyeon much of her old apartment. The place she had spent much of her youth at. 

Daniel reached down and grabbed her hand intertwining his fingers between hers. Jiyeon glanced back towards him in surprise.

"I promise, you'll understand why we're visiting in a second." He said assuringly.

Using his other hand he knocked against the door. Jiyeon could hear the faint sound of flurried footsteps approaching the door. 

The door vibrated as someone had clearly tried to open the door and forgot to unlock the latch.

"Oppa!" The voice that came out from behind was certainly way too young to be Lee Chaeun.

Finally, the door opened and immediately Jiyeon gasped.

A young girl around 5 or 6 years old stood in the doorway gazing up at her. She was cute.

"Hello, you must be oppa's girlfriend!" The young girl greeted cutely. 

Jiyeon stared in confusion unable to respond.

"That's right Jin-ah, this is my girlfriend Park Jiyeon." He grinned crouching in front of the girl. "By the way, where's your omma?" 

"She's in the kitchen cooking. Come in." The girl named Jinah showed them in. 

Her mother? Did that mean?

Jiyeon followed her into a very modest apartment. A small living room with a humble coffee table next to a sofa. A small kitchen with barely enough room for a refrigerator and a stove.

"Thank you so much for coming!" A female voice announced.

Jiyeon immediately gasped at how different she looked. The pretty cheerleader in a simple blouse and floral skirt. 

"Hello Jiyeon-si, I don't think we've really met." Chaeun remarked. "This is my daughter Jin-ah."

It was a lot for her to take in. The little girl standing comfortably beside the cheerleader. 

"I told you, you'd be surprised." Daniel whispered from beside.

"Let's eat. Dinner is ready."

"Sounds great, how can I help?" Daniel immediately offered. 

Jiyeon headed back towards the small table to eat. The smile of the young girl next to her mother. 

She realized it made it worth it. Things had worked out for her anyways. She had made the right choice. 

Daniel set down a large bowl with different ingrediants topped over rice.

"Ooh, Bibimbap, my favorite! Did you help make it Jin-ah?" Daniel inquired his attention on the little girl.

"Of course! I helped my omma wash the vegetables." Jinah announced proudly puffing her tiny chest out.

"Really? I don't remember you doing that." Chaeun patting her on the head.

"Omma! I did!" Jinah piped out in frustration.

Seeing it all in front of her. Jiyeon couldn't help but stare speechless at the scene in front of her. The way the little girl talked so comfortably with her boyfriend. 

It just made him seem so much more attractive. The proud smile on Chaeun's face as she watched her daughter. 

Jiyeon realized for the first time. She envied her. Despite the humble apartment, Chaeun looked happy.

"Why don't you show Daniel-si your room Jin-ah?" Chaeun announced as they finished the meal.

The little girl leaped up with delight and dragged Daniel away as they heard him chuckle playfully.

Jiyeon who had been silent most of the dinner stared across from her. There was now a more serious expression on Chaeun's face.

What would she say?

"I know it was sort of shameless for me to call you and your boyfriend here. Especially after all of the scandals between us." Chaeun began by bowing her head.

Jiyeon nodded slowly unsure of how else to respond.

"But I wanted to thank you. After hearing from him about what the meeting was for and what they might've done." Chaeun revealed. "Thank you Jiyeon-si. I am deeply indebted to you."

Jiyeon knew nothing good would've come from it. Powerful investors and drugs. 

But seeing gratefulness on the cheerleader's face.

"Of course." Jiyeon smiled thinking about the good act she had done.

"As you can see, I'm just thankful for the kindness that Daniel-si has shown to me and Jinah. But, I promise you, I have no intentions of messing up the relationship between you two. In fact I'd be thankful if we could become friends." Chaeun revealed.

Jiyeon gazed towards the genuine expression on the girl across from her. Jiyeon couldn't remember the last time someone had offered friendship to her.

Her friend list was so small. Her members, Jieun, Luna, Inna, Naeun, her members...

"I'd be glad to." Jiyeon answered a tear slowly falling from her eyes. 

This time it was Chaeun who stared in confusion. "Are you ok?"

"No, I'm glad that I was able to help." Jiyeon assured her wiping away the tears. "After my scandals, I realized I began pitying myself too much. I never felt like I truly helped another person with my actions... that's why I'm thankful to you for telling me."

It wasn't until they had left, 15 minutes into their drive, while sitting in the passenger's seat of Daniel's car that Jiyeon connected the dots.

"You wanted us to be friends." Jiyeon suddenly spouted out.

Daniel turned in surprise. "Huh?" 

"You just want an excuse to see the cute Jin-ah don't you?" Jiyeon accused. 

Daniel chuckled as he shifted his hand towards hers, his other still resting against the wheel. 

"Caught me." He conceded playfully. "I'm jealous of her, I hope one day I'll have a daughter too."

Jiyeon rolled her eyes. Her parents had always joked with her that children lead to the end of freedom. As happy as Chaeun seemed, Jiyeon wasn't sure if she was ready to give up the freedom she felt. 

"We'll I guess you'll have to find another girl, because I don't plan on having children anytime soon." Jiyeon huffed wondering what his reaction might be.

Daniel grinned. "Really?" 

"Mhm." 

"I guess if I start looking now. I could meet someone within a week, maybe by November have a child, and then... OW!" Daniel quickly stopped telling his joke after Jiyeon pinched him on the shoulder.

"I'm kidding. I'll wait. Jiyeon I'll wait as long as it takes." Daniel assured her. His loving eyes staring towards her. 

"Ya! Stop looking at me like that and eyes on the road." Jiyeon blushed turning away.

"Can we at least get a puppy?"

Jiyeon rolled her eyes as she stared out the window. 

"How about a bunny?"

"Hey baby dinosaur?"

It would be a long drive.

SOOMPI: Daniel 1! Forbes releases Power Celebrity rankings and Basketball Idol takes the first spot.

Yesterday Forbes Korea released their 2016 Power Celebrity rankings a much anticipated list for every top celebrity. The prized top 10 spots often a subject of much debate between Netizens over the course of the year.

1. Daniel Choi- Over the course of 2016, unsurprisingly Daniel Choi, Korea’s top basketball player, most wanted CF model, and all around charmer took the number one spot beating out EXO, 2015’s number one. With 15 million instagram followers, over 10 different high paying sponsorships, and now becoming a household name, Daniel Choi is much more than his basketball achievements. The basketball idol’s face was left on a Itaewon billboard for two months straight as the new face of Adidas Kr. While I would love to talk more about his achievements there were 9 other winners.

2. EXO- After struggling the beginning of the year with Chinese members leaving and several lawsuits EXO-k bounced back quickly with singles ‘Lucky One’ and ‘Monster’ becoming the biggest boy band of Korea and quite likely all over the world. With their visual lineup all across the board they sold out back to back shows in 100,000 person venues. A never been done feat.

3. Yoo Ah In- After starring in hit role in historical drama Six Flying Dragons, and becoming a large political influencer on Social Media there’s no doubt this man deserves the three spot with his wins of Best Actor for 4 different awards. 

4. Lee Hyeri- After several successes with hit drama Reply 1988, Lee Hyeri became a huge model for several CFs over the year and with her cuteness was considered the 10 billion won girl. Definitely deserving of being in the top 5.

5. SNSD- This girl group after falling to 10th for the first time last year had a huge comeback this year with Lion Heart after becoming the first girl group to amass 100 million views on YouTube on over 5 music videos, it’s undoubted they are the girl group of this year.

Taking the 6th spot was popular actor Kim Soo Hyun. At 7th was super group Big Bang. At 8th was breakout golfer Park Inbee. At 9th was famous actress Jun Jihyun. And finally at 10th was multitalented national little sister IU. 

What are your thoughts on the rankings? I for one was thrilled to see Daniel Choi finally place take the top spot after dominating the KBL and the CF industry this year. He’s also posed to win another championship with the KBL deciding to move the finals to the GoCheok Sky Dome in Seoul where over 17,000 spectators will watch the event live.

Daniel could barely enter the large dome shaped arena, fans lined around the building.

The moment Daniel stepped out of his van thousands of fans rushed to the steel fences cheering him on as he saw young men and women alike crowding around. Daniel wore noisee cancelling headphones over his ears but he could hear them even through his music blasting at max volume.

“I love you!”

“Daniel you better win!”

“Daniel you're unstoppable!”

Daniel entered through the back entrance to the former Baseball stadium while multiple managers helped him hold back the crowd. Immediately upon entering multiple flashes of lights blinded him momentarily revealing sports reporters and paparazzi  snapping pictures of him and his outfit.

A thin black trench coat over a white white and black slacks with his grey Adidas duffle bag slung across his shoulder. Jiyeon had picked out his outfit the night before when he video chatted her. He had to admit he thought he looked pretty good in it too.

“Daniel do you expect an easy win?”

“Daniel what do you think about the Anyang coach saying he think’s you’re all hype.”

“Daniel how many points will you score?”

"Daniel will you remain in the KBL?"

"Daniel any updates on your mental health?"

“Daniel thoughs on rumors about you dating Lee Chaeun?”

Daniel stopped. Mike stared at him in confusion. He turned towards the crowd of press gathered behind him.

“I think this will be a great game. I hope we win. Also I’m not in a relationship with Miss Lee Chaeun at the moment.” He then turned around and his agent stared in horror.

“Please never answer their questions again, wait until a press conference.” Mike scolded him.

Daniel usually wouldn’t, but thinking about Jiyeon, he wanted to at least clear up that misunderstanding.

“Sorry.” Daniel answered as he found the locker room. His teammates were already inside. Daniel grabbed his freshly ironed jersey from a manager and began to change into it placing his old clothes in the locker.

“Woah, did they get softer?”

Daniel felt a light punch against his lower abdomen. He noticed Eric standing next to him grinning.

“Are you dating someone, why else would your abs feel somewhat covered. I bet you’re eating too much.”

“Mind your own business.” Daniel playfully retorted feeling somewhat self conscious now.

He looked down, he wasn’t out of shape or anything, he just noticed that his lower abs were slightly less defined. He figured it was probably the late night snacks he would eat with Jiyeon, or more like for Jiyeon. Jiyeon always made him finish her food because of her diet.

Then there was the fact that Jiyeon wasn’t going to be at this game because of her schedule. That definitely bummed him out.

He placed his jersey over his muscular body and looked back at his teammates.

“Ready?” His captain Jungsuk asked. “This is going to be the most amount of fans we’ve ever played with.”

“Yes sir.” Daniel replied confidently as they both exited the locker room and peeked out into the giant glass dome. 

The whole arena had been refitted for the purpose of the basketball finals, hardwood flooring had been laid over the original artificial turf. Daniel had never seen this many people at a game before, as thousands were in the stadium. This was something new, he hadn’t expected this many people. Over 20,000 live watchers.

Korea Sports: SK Knights lose 1st game to Anyang KGC Oh Sekeun has 30 points. Daniel Choi has 15 points on a bad night.

Analysts of the game felt that Daniel looked tired and low energy during the game. SK Knights after a strong start, lost the game 102-109.

Star Player Oh Sekeun in a press conference said: “If I beat Daniel Choi the number one celebrity, does that make me the number one?”

Daniel watched as Jiyeon took her seat court-side. She was alone this time, as the high demand for venue’s seats only allowed her to sit court side. The giant billboard had already shown that IU and Girl’s Day Yura were in attendance in the ginormous crowd. He had even been texted from AOA Seolhyun that they would all be watching as well. 

The game was just like the last, many celebrities, many viewers, a ton of pressure on him to win.

Daniel would’ve felt gloomy especially after the previous day’s loss. Except for one thing. The one thing that made a world of difference. Jiyeon was here to watch this time.

He was stretching in his usual spot near the center of the court when something caught the corner of his eye.

 He saw the over confident Oh Sekeun walk past him giving him the cold shoulder before heading to the other side of the court. Right to Jiyeon. For a second Daniel almost rushed over and pulled him away. But he couldn't, instead he only listened in on their covnersation. Feigning indifference.

“Hey, Jiyeon-si right?” Sekeun began talking directly to his girlfriend.

“Uh yes.” Jiyeon replied calmly.

“Actually I’m a big fan of T-ara for a long time, and was happy to see the recent reports. I was wondering if I could take a picture with you.” He requested clearly to comfortable with the beautiful idol.

“Um sure.” Jiyeon chuckled happily. 

Was she happy? Daniel clenched his fists. He shouldn’t be jealous but he felt like he was burning inside. 

This opponent had just told the entire Sports World that he was better than him. And now he was talking to his girlfriend?

“Actually, I know you’re the model for the other team… so let’s make a deal. Let me buy you a meal if my team wins. And if you win I’ll give you a wish.” He heard the confident player offer.

This was way too far. Jiyeon would surely tell him off now.

“Um… sure.” 

Daniel was shocked by her response. What was she thinking? Hell no! Hell no! He wasn’t going to let him buy her a meal. What the ? 

Daniel clenched his teeth as he stood up. He glared at his girlfriend, and Jiyeon grinned innocently back. She shook Sekeun’s hand and the player was bright red, a bright grin on his lips.

Daniel didn’t care if Sekeun had an innocent crush on Jiyeon, no he was flirting with his girlfriend.

Rage burned in his eyes as he watched Sekeun return to his side of the court a spring in his step. 

Daniel glared again at her. She caught it this time and made a confused expression before shrugging her shoulders innocently. She then made a fighting pose with her fist.

Was she trying to motivate him?

It didn’t matter her intentions. Daniel wasn’t going to let Sekeun go near Jiyeon with that confident smirk. Daniel stepped onto the court as he didn’t noticed his teammates trying to high five him.

“Hey you ok Daniel?” Eric inquired in concern.

Daniel turned towards his friend. “Eric, I’m sorry if I’m selfish today. I really need a win.”

Daniel's entire focus shifted on his opponent. The player now holding a very carefree attitude.

Daniel channeled all the things he remembered about his favorite basketball stars. Being ruthless. 

He was about to wipe that grin off of Sekeun’s face.

Jiyeon watched almost in pity as the man who had just shook her hand full of confidence and hope had vanished. Instead replaced by a pitiful player who looked like someone had just stolen his hope and possibly his lunch money too. 

Daniel had done that. Not that he was the bully.

To be honest, Jiyeon knew what she was doing when she accepted the bet. She thought it would kind of nudge Daniel to play with a little more energy. He seemed out of it the first game, and it corncerned her. She hadn’t said it when she called him last night, but perhaps she was worried he was a little too content with where he was.

She hadn’t exactly expected this. She looked at the score board. 

SK Knights: 63

KGC: 38

She knew that this was only half time, but the game felt over. Daniel had stolen the ball from SeKeun 5 times already, scored 29 points and looked like he might just beat the other team single handedly.

Jiyeon wondered if she had motivated her boyfriend or released a jealous monster. Either way it was quite entertaining. 

“Well Seo Janghoon as a previous player any thoughts on what just took place this first half of the game?” Two broadcasters asked the celebrity who had joined them in the booth from across the court.

“It’s a slaughter. Anyone who ever doubted Daniel Choi just lost all of their belongings today. I think he might’ve just been sleeping during the first game.” Seo Janghoon replied to the question as he chuckled. “Reminds me of Jordan, Michael Jordan, if he needed to prove his point he could.”

Jiyeon looked at the approving crowd. They were all happy to see their Basketball Idol show his dominance again. After all, though they love an underdog story once in a while. Watching Daniel was just fun.

The second half was well to say the least, not much better. Daniel kept scoring. If Jiyeon didn’t know better, she would’ve gone up to him and tried to cool him off. He was being a little too much.

Finally the blair of the final buzzer put the other team out of their misery.

It wasn’t even close. 

Jiyeon watched as Daniel didn’t even celebrate, instead he locked eyes with her and gave her a look that a defensive boyfriend would give to a girlfriend who wanted to go party with male friends.

She chuckled. He was cute in that way. His jealousy was becoming somewhat cute now.

“What changed this game that made you play so much better?”

Daniel chuckled at the question, he could’ve answered it easily, but knew that the correct answer would cause a huge scandal.

“Actually I think I was just nervous in the first game, I feel so much better this game.”

“You say you feel better, but you just scored 57 points the most scored in a playoff game before. What caused you to be more confident?”

“Well, my teammates really trusted me after I made a few shots, and let’s just say I went from there.” Daniel responded as Eric placed his arm around his shoulder.

“This man is 'From the Stars' I swear.” Eric joked as the reporters all laughed at his reference to the kdrama.

“The earlier game you told reporters you were not in a relationship with Lee Chaeun. Does that mean you are in a relationship?”

“I am currently in a relationship... with my work.” Daniel joked as his teammates chuckled beside him.

“He practices all the time, no one works harder than Daniel, that’s why we’ve all improved alongside him.” Jungsuk stuck up for him.

Daniel nodded as he answered only a few more questions before leaving the press conference. There were still hundreds of fans waiting outside as he exited the arena to the celebrity van that was waiting for him. 

He climbed into the van and it drove him to apartment. The next day he would go with his team to Anyang to spend the two days there before returning for at least one final game. 

Daniel entered his apartment and crashed onto his bed. The game had definitely taken a toll on him. He was exhausted. He could barely unlock his phone to call Jiyeon. Wishing for even just her voice to provide him a little energy.

“oppa?” She answered quickly.

“Jiyeon.” He responded happily hearing her cute voice from his speaker.

Then he frowned remembering the earlier events.

“YA! How dare you agree to such a bet. Don’t think I didn’t hear you. Was that on purpose? Huh? What if I lost?”

“Oppa. I knew you wouldn’t lose.” Jiyeon gigged in the background.

“Why huh?” Daniel questioned still slightly upset.

“Because I gave you a little motivation to win. You seemed out of it in the first game.”

He knew she was right, but still. That was the most ridiculous way to motivate him.

“I missed you that’s why I wasn’t focused.” Daniel admitted lying more comfortably against the pillows of his bed.

“Oppa, I’m not going to be there every game. I just can’t. But you can’t lose games because I’m not there. How is that fair to your teammates?” Jiyeon scolded him.

It wasn’t like he was trying to lose a game, he just felt less motivation to play when she wasn't there.

“So put in your effort into every game and win them ok? Then we can have more dates when you’re done.” Jiyeon reminded him.

“But even when I’m done you’re going to have your comeback soon.” Daniel whined. “I won’t be able to see you often then.”

“Oppa, just finish strong ok?”

Daniel sighed as he looked outside the window.

“Ok. I want to see you really badly.” 

“Soon oppa soon.”

SOOMPI: Basketball Idol proves his number one spot after a merciless beatdown of his opponents in his last 3 games

Ever since the first game where Daniel Choi had a disappointing end to the game.

He has since scored 57, 34, and 40 points in his last three games. The star KGC player Oh Sekeun after scoring 30 points in his first win, has been defended unceasingly by the Basketball idol and has only scored 14, 18, and 15 points. Some fans have even begun to pity him after many Netizens were originally enraged by his comment mocking Daniel for being the number one Forbes Power Celebrity. 

Daniel Choi is proving to all of his competitors never to mock him or try to come at him, or else he will show his wrath. 

Also during the first games Daniel Choi confirmed that he was not dating Lee Chaeun to several reporters. This comes after the model has accepted a support role for her first drama and signing under SM Entertainment as an actress. 

As happy we are that Daniel Choi is indeed single, the question asked whether he was dating someone was somewhat sparsely answered. Could he be dating someone? What are your thoughts?

Daniel drove down the highway from Anyang his eyes on the road. His girlfriend's contact name plastered on the large screen in the center of his Tesla. 

He listened to Jiyeon talk about her day as he navigated through the late night traffic. Upon checking the GPS he saw would be back in Seoul in about 20 minutes.

“So your members are coming back for one last concert?” Daniel asked his eyes were glued to the road as he shifted onto the left lane. 

“Yes. They flew in today and began practicing with us again, they decided to do one last concert in Taiwan for the fans.” Jiyeon explained. 

“Is it awkward for them to be back? I mean they kind of left abruptly.” Daniel had worried for her, when she had told him she was losing two close friends so quickly.

“Actually it was really nice for them to comeback. They told us about their experience in Andong, and they really like living there.” 

“Could you see yourself ending your celebrity life? Just you and me into the wild and live like an adventurous couple. No one would know us.” Daniel threw it out.

“Oppa, you could never. You’re too famous.” 

“You too, your pretty eyes are engrained in everyone’s hearts as well.” Daniel complimented her.

He gave himself a mental pat on the back after hearing her giggle.

“Actually I don’t know. Up until now, I’ve really only known celebrity life. I can’t imagine not being an idol, but the thought is enticing too. What about you oppa?” 

“I don’t care, up until 4 years ago, I was just a regular guy. And after experiencing celebrity life, I really don’t know anymore. I think as long as whatever choice I make lets me stay by your side.” Daniel meant every word. He really just wanted to be with her. 

“Oppa. You’re making me really want to see you. I guess I like it when you say things like that a lot.” 

“Then I’ll be there soon.” Daniel answered as he crossed off the large bridge into Seoul.

“Oppa really? Don’t you have a game tomorrow?” Jiyeon questioned.

“I know. But just for a little… please.” Daniel reasoned. 

There was no response at first.

"What if I pick up food on the way?" He offered.

“Ok. But oppa, you can't stay long. I don't want to be reason you show up late to your game."

"30 minutes, and I'll head back to my apartment." He promised.

Jiyeon groaned waking up to the sound of an alarm. The loud ringing annoying her to the point she could no longer ignore it. She sat up slowly, she felt a chill down her spine as she did. 

"Bixby shut up." She exclaimed towards her phone comfortably sitting below her.

Her figure engulfed by the cold morning air. Upon examining below the bed she could see her sweatpants, t-shirt, and underwear littered over the ground. A set of male clothes beside them. 

She turned back to see Daniel fast asleep his head resting against the pillow. Jiyeon wondered how he could sleep so peacefully when he had his game today.

30 minutes my .

“Oppa! Wake up!” She shook him frantically.

“Jiyeon? What time is it?” He inquired rubbing his eyes. 

“Oppa, it’s already 11. You have a game at Three!” 

Daniel shot up. He cursed quietly and rushed to grab his clothes.

He scrambled around and finally grabbed his things. Jiyeon giggling in amusement as she watched him from the comfort of her bed.

He then gazed at her and rushed to her side and cupped her face with his large hand. Kissing her deeply one last time before rushing out of her apartment. His teeth grazing her bottom lip as he pulled away.

"I'll see you later then." He whispered gazing straight at her. "My angel." 

He blew a kiss but tripped on his way out of her bedroom.

Jiyeon could only sigh as she watched his clumsy exit followed by the slam of her front door. This was the boy, girls fawned over for his maturity and charm.

However, a pleased grin appeared not long after, the taste of his mouth still fresh in her mind.
