Baekhyun's eyes slowly opened, the pain from before had subsided, and it felt like the air was free of the smoke, it didn't feel like he was going to cough up his lungs at any moment.

His eyes quickly widened when he realised he wasn't in the burning building before and Chanyeol was still nowhere to be seen.

Baekhyun looked down, he was in a hospital, it wasn't hard to realise that due to the hospital gown and wristband he had on, some different wires connecting to him and leading to machines.

But the constant question lingered in his mind, where was Chanyeol?

He was the only one in the room, neatly made beds around him, his head turned to the window, the sunny sky greeting him, he didn't know how long it had been since he was in that house.

His head quickly snapped to the door, a woman with scrubs coming in, Baekhyun presuming she was a nurse.

"You're awake." She smiled, adjusting the fluid bag above Baekhyun.

"What time is it?" Baekhyun asked, the last time he remembered the time of day was at the night club with Chanyeol.

"It's," She paused to check her watch, "4:53"

"If you're hungry dinner is given out at 5, but I can give you a snack, we have oranges, biscuits, apple slices—"

"No, thank you," Baekhyun shook his head, "Was Chanyeol here?"

"Who?" She questioned.

Baekhyun took that she wasn't one to watch the news after the countless mentions of the said male's name, "He's tall, big ears, has white hair."

"Uhm," She stopped to think, "I don't think so, I only just started my shift but I'll ask around."

Baekhyun felt some sort of comfort in her gentle smile, it was reassuring to have someone be nice to him after everything that happened, especially the way Chanyeol's gang members treated him.

"Thank you." Baekhyun returned the smile, now only noticing the wiring on his face; maybe that's why it was so much easier to breath now.

He watched the nurse leave, ready to dwell back into his thoughts but she turned, "You have a visitor."

Baekhyun scrunched his face up in confusion, who'd be visiting him?

His face fell at the chance it could be the certain tall male he was wanting, "Okay." Baekhyun nodded, sitting more up, anticipating on who was coming in.
