Chapter 7

The Soul Kingdom

King Minho was walking on the pavement of King Kibum's office at a very fast pace and everyone's eyes followed him as if he were a tennis game. He hadn't really spoken about why he was at the Soul Kingdom and, honestly, he had no idea how to start.

He stopped suddenly and everyone was preparing to listen. "So," He sighed. 

"How about I explain, your majesty?" Seungwan said trying to calm the King down.

"Sure." He ran his hand through his hair. 

Seungwan looked at him before staring back at the people who were sitting on the couch looking rather confused. Seulgi was sitting beside Joohyun and their thighs were touching. The Soul King was anxiously sitting on the couch arm next to his daughter.

"Hum." She started. "This is going to sound bad."

Then she started to explain everything, from the prophecy she found to the recent attacks and everyone listened carefully. Their eyes went from confusion to realization. The Soul King then got up in silence. Everyone was silent as they understood what it all meant.

They heard a new voice, a female one coming from the door.

"So, what you're saying is that we're screwed?" On the door there was Sooyoung looking determined. "If they want to fight we should fight back." She said still wanting revenge for her father's death.

"Excuse me." Seungwan narrowed her eyes. "You're not supposed to be here. This is a private meeting." Seungwan thought the girl must've been insane to even think about eavesdropping their conversation. Sooyoung rolled her eyes hearing her thoughts and walked towards the people that were staring at her.

"Well then next time

"Are you from the Mind Kingdom?" Seulgi asked and Sooyoung only nodded and put her hands in her pockets.

Sooyoung turned to Seungwan."Humanes are dying." She sighed. "If that prophecy you say you read is right it means that we must act quickly."

"But how? How shall we know who can save us?" The Soul King finally opened his mouth.

They all thought about that question for a few moments. Joohyun had mixed thought on her mind. Seulgi felt like crying. Both Kings stood there trying to solve the situation but, honestly, King Kibum was dying inside. Seungwan tried to think of all possibilities of how they could find out who can save them. The only answer: the Goddess. But she didn't know how it could work. It's not like she was some kind of superhero that could just appear and save everyone. Sooyoung shut everyone's thoughts, on her mind she only wanted revenge, she couldn't think of nothing more but revenge.

"Well, this is indeed an important issue, but we must think for a while. Besides, today the house is full, we must be there for our guests and make sure they are well fed and resting." The Soul King insisted.

Everyone nodded and tried to calm their thoughts. Sooyoung remembered her sister was waiting for her and excused herself. She went down the stair recalling the way back to the big hall, where everyone was trying to gather all their stuff and where her sister was.

"Minyoung~ah!" She called, trying to look for her.

"I'm here!" She answered not very far away.

Sooyoung ran up to her sister and hugged her. After what she had heard from Seungwan, her worries were only starting and she couldn't help but squeeze Minyoung for dear life. She was impressed at how her sister was handling their father's death so calmly. She only cried once, when she heard the news.

"You are so strong. You are so brave." She whispered on Minyoung's ear. "If anything happens to me-"

"Are you going somewhere?" She asked worried.

"Maybe, baby girl. You see, the attacks on our Kingdom were just the beginning." She sighed. "I'm afraid I'll have to leave you for awhile, I need to help the people who need help." Minyoung's eyes were watering. "Soyeon will take care of you, alright?"

Before Minyoung could cry for her sister to stay with her, both Kings came down the stairs, their expressions were calmer than before.

"Good evening everyone. Welcome to the Soul Kingdom. Me and my old friend Minho welcome you to the palace, he will also be staying for some time so we can take care of business." The Soul King announced.

Then he ordered for the naids to take the Mind Kingdom refugees to their rooms and King Jinki, from the Mind Kingdom, went up to King Kibum.

"Thank you so much for giving us shelter. I can't express how much my people appreciate it." The Soul King smiled at him and gave him a man hug.

"Anytime old friend." 

Everyone made their way back upstairs and Seungwan was left standing awkwardly, she didn't know if they were going to stay or going back to the Space Kingdom. King Minho walked up to her with a worried face.

"We'll be staying here for the time being, Seungwan-shi. My son is taking care back home, so don't worry. We have to figure out what we can do about this situation and there is no better place than the Soul Kingdom." He spoke rapidly. "Now, please rest, King Kibum said you will be staying in the room with princess Seulgi and princess Joohyun since the other palace rooms are full right now." She nodded and then noticed Seulgi was waiting for her a few meters near her, next to her was Joohyun with her arm tangled with the younger girl's.

Seulgi smiled at the other girl and Seungwan just stood there not knowing what to do. She wasn't used to people her age being kind to her. "Come, I'll show you my room." Joohyun couldn't help but feel a little jealous that Seulgi was being nice at another girl.

They made their way to the highest floor and entered the last door on the left, Seulgi's room. In there was already Sooyoung braiding her sister's hair by the bed.

"My bed is big enough to fit all five of us so don't worry. Let's rest, it has been a long day." Seulgi patted Minyoung's head and lookes at Sooyoung who smiled at her.

"You are right, thank you for the hospitality your highness." Sooyoung bowed.

"No problem." Seulgi laughed."I always wanted to make a pyjama party."

"You have never?" Joohyun asked.

"I have never had someone I would want to do it with." Seulgi smiled and immediately blushed, Joohyun avoid eye contact but still smiled.

Seungwan looked around the room and when she saw Sooyoung she recalled her as being the obnoxious girl that had interrupted the meeting. Sooyoung once again rolled her eyes at the other girl's thoughts.

"Nice to see you too." She answered sarcastically.

Seungwan then remembered that Mind people, when they're older, can read human minds and looked away embarassed. Sooyoung just gave her a small smile.

They all started to get ready to sleep. Sooyoung spooned her little sister while Seungwan told the other girls she would sleep on the couch, they didn't argue because they could see she was uncomfortable sleeping with other people. 

Seulgi then looked hopefully at Joohyun. "I get very cold when I sleep." She then turned her sight to stare at the floor. "Would you maybe mind to sleep next to me?" Her cheeks flushed.

Joohyun smiled at her shyness, grabbed Seulgi's chin and made her look into her eyes. "Sure." She said and the younger girl's only smiled wider.

The five girls quickly fell asleep, some faster than others, and enjoyed a calm night. On the other side of the palace, King Minho was trying to sleep but couldn't. He kept thinking about ways to stop these assassinations but his mind wouldn't cooperate. He was losing it.

A few minutes later a light came shinning through the window. He got up confused and got startled by a phantom sitting on a chair.

"Minho." The phantom called.

"What are you?" He asked ready to scream for dear life.

"You should know, you called me." The female voice answered. King Minho's eyes widened when he realized who he was talking to.

"Goddess." He stared at her perplexed. After a few seconds he bowed down to the floor. "We need your help. There have been these attacks-"

"I know." She breathed. "I know about everything." She pulled him up with her powers. "To survive you must find the five muses."

"What?" His confusion was notable.

"The five muses. One woman from each Kingdom who's power is so strong it can defeat anyone and anything. Find them and at the golden moon they shall fight for you."

"But- but how?" He asked anxiously. "How do we find them?"

"The soul river." She answered. "The soul river has all answers."

He ran his hand through his hair and turned around understanding what she meant.

"But-" When he looked back at the chair she was sitting she was no longer there. He stared in awe at the chair and then the window. He was wondering if it had really happened or if it was only a dream. "The soul river."

AN: Guuyyyyyssssss, it's getting intense!
I'm really sorry to say that for the next few weeks I'll only be posting on tuesdays and fridays, at the same time I'm publishing now. You see, my exam week is coming up and since I'm finishing high school it's very stressful.
In other news, TOMORROW'S MY SCHOOL'S PROM.
