Chapter One
He Wouldn'tIt was Hoseok’s birthday and they were celebrating the usual way. Jimin had conjured a cake from somewhere and brought it in in the middle of dance practice, a surprised Hoseok had gotten a little teary (who knew why, it happened every year so surely he should be used to it by now) then their manager had let them order food on the condition that they got right back to practice once they’d eaten it.
Jungkook, like everyone else, had jumped at the opportunity. They’d been working hard all day and it seemed like an age since they’d last taken a proper break. He’d enthusiastically suggested about a dozen dishes to Jin who’d been charged with making the order, not really caring which ones made it on the list as long as he ended up getting fed at some point. It was a long time since they’d last eaten and he was feeling it. Then order made he’d gone back to coaching Namjoon through some of the more complicated parts of their newest choreography while they waited for the food to be delivered.
And then it came, the food arrived, and practice was immediately abandoned. Jungkook had headed for the chicken first. He’d already inhaled one whole chicken leg and half a chicken wing before he realised that the slight queasiness he’d been feeling for the previous half hour, something he’d put down to lack of food, wasn’t lessening but worsening. With a frown he dropped the chicken wing in his hand. The food he’d so been looking forward to no longer looked so appetising.
