Brotherhood



“…Hm…What’s that again?” the maknae mumbled to himself.

“Omoo! Minnie ah, what’re you doing here alone?” Bumie approached Minnie on the park bench,” Wanna play bicycle together?”

“Kibum ah! Um!” Minnie nodded and left what he was thinking about as he joined Bumie.

“Guess what?! Hehe, I saw Joongie and Yunnie near the ice cream corner!” Bumie spoke as they began to cycle their own bicycle. Well, since Minnie didn’t afraid of cycling anymore, he got his brand new bicycle. He usually cycled with Bumie in the afternoon.

“Really? Let’s race to them!” Minnie said excitedly.

“Yaaa~ Wait for me!” Bumie whined.

Two figures of small boys caught their eyes. Both of them were playing with each other as they ate their delicious ice cream.

“Omoo! BooJae looks so cute!” Yunnie, who wore blue singlet, spoke as he pinched Joongie’s cheek and laughed because the chocolate ice cream that he put on Joongie’s nose.

“Yunnie!” Joongie turned into pink because he just realized he got a new nickname. Little Joongie took his revenge as he put his strawberry ice cream on Yunnie’s nose, both of them was chasing each other.

“Hyung deul!” Minnie managed to arrive first as he called them. Behind him, Bumie followed.

“Bad Minnie! Leaving me behind…” Bumie mumbled.

“Mianhe…” Minnie spoke, Bumie couldn’t help but smile because the guilty face Minnie made.

“It’s OK, hehe…” Bumie reassured as the four of them began to greet each other, playing like bunch kiddos. That’s when something caught their eyes.

A figure of another boy that they recognized caught their sight. The boy was writing something on the lined-paper as another boy slept on his lap.

“Omooo! Chunnie!!!” Joongie called as they went into Chunnie’s place. Later on, they discovered it’s a songbook that Chunnie was writing at and the boy on his lap was no other but the sleeping Suie.

“Shh…” Chunnie managed to whisper softly, he’s afraid they would wake his dolphin lover…err…friend I meant.

“What are you guys doing here?” Yunnie whispered.

“Our Ummas are doing some quick shopping, so I and Suie said we would wait here, but then Suie fell asleep…” Chunnie explained. The others’ mouth shaped ‘O’ as they thought what they should do.

“Let’s play some game!” Bumie whispered excitedly as he continued,” How about we play ‘touch-Suie-but-not-till-he-wakes-up’?”

“OK!” the others agreed.

“But…” Chunnie was a little worried, he didn’t have a heart to disturb Suie’s sleep,” No, I won’t allow it!”

“Eh?” the sudden gasp of the four boys was loud enough to wake the sleeping boy.

“Umma…Has Umma come back?” Suie spoke as he rubbed his eyes.

“…Um, not yet,” Chunnie spoke.

“Um…” Suie opened his eyes as he looked around and discovered his entire friend there.

“Omooo! Joongie! Yunnie! Bumie! Minnie!” the dolphin boy cheered. The others couldn’t help but cheered too even though they still surprised to see the protective-Chunnie few seconds ago.

“Let’s play hide and seek!” Chunnie managed to speak as he tried to calm down in the weird atmosphere.

“OK!” Minnie agreed immediately and so all of them decided to play. The first one to seek was Minnie. He counted till ten and then began searching.

Smile carved on his lips when he saw Bumie’s shoes behind the brushes. He went slowly as he managed to surprise him, yet, he caught Bumie’s mouth first, preventing him from shouting.

“Shh, it’s me,” Minnie spoke; somehow he turned pink as he moved closer to Bumie.

“What’s wrong?” Bumie asked.

“It’s just…everyone has done this…I want to do this too…” Minnie mumbled as he pecked Bumie’s cheek and rushed out from there, leaving the blushing red Bumie there.

“Minnie…” Bumie called the name as the warmness of the pair of lips still there, he’s more than happy.

After finished his first mission to kiss Bumie, Minnie charged to find the others. Just like always, he found them in no time; Minnie was genius like always.

They played for another few minutes till they’re exhausted. All of them sat on the bench as they tried to catch some breathe. Suddenly, some nunas passed them…

“Omooo! What a cute boys!!! Kyaaaa~” one of them spoke,” Look at them, Angel!”

“Omooo! Omooo~” Angel spoke excitedly,” That’s totally true, Asyikin!”

“Umm…” the boys looked at the nunas in front them, they’re kind of surprised.

“Boys! Can we take some pictures with you, please?” Asyikin spoke.

“Um…We’re fine with that,” Yunnie said as the others nodded. And so the nunas happily took as many pictures as they could with the cutie boys.

“Now, for the present after your cutie time, hehe…” Angel said as she managed to take a good picture of the six boys. Since the camera was Polaroid one, she could make 6 photos in no time.

“Here! Thanks a lot for your time,” Asyikin gave the picture to them with each of them a lollipop.

“Yey! Thanks nunas!” the boys spoke excitedly. After that, the nunas had gone somewhere else as they still chatting about the cutie boys they had just met. Not long after that, YooSu’s mommy came and so they parted. YunJae also decided to go to Jae’s house since their mommy was at Jae’s house, chatting and gossiping.

Just before all of them really parted, Minnie jumped up excitedly as he remembered the word he wanted to remember so hard,” BROTHERHOOD!!!”

Minnie’s voice echoed all along the park as the six boys heard it.

“I mean, I remember what our relationship is, not just a friend, but as brother!” Minnie shouted as all of them smiled and said another goodbye. After that few minutes, Minnie and Bumie were the only one left there.

“Let’s go home,” Minnie spoke.

“Um!” Bumie nodded as they took their bicycle,” By the way, Minnie ah, BROTHERHOOD is an awesome word! I love it as much as I love Minnie, hehe…See ya!”

Minnie couldn’t believe what he heard. He could only look at Bumie as the boy disappeared. Apparently, at that time Minnie realized how he liked Bumie so much and how they began to like each other.

Smiled craved on his lips as he went home; just like the winner of a food-eating-competition.

Guess the word ‘brotherhood’ really meant to become really close more than just a friend, to love them more for who they are…Just like our own family…
