OPERATION: LOVE

Waking up with a massive hangover, Jaebum regrets all his life choices. He shouldn’t have drank so much. Actually, he shouldn’t have drank at all. He still has a job that needed to be attended. There’s no time for him to be kneeling in front of the toilet and barfing out yesterday’s content. Jaebum is a mess.

Cleaning himself up, Jaebum looked at the mirror. The man looking back at him could be perfectly compared to . Jaebum sighed and pulled up the long sleeves of his T-shirt, only to reveal angry red marks. He stared at the marks and tilted his head curiously.

“How the hell did I get these…” Jaebum ran his fingers over the marks. From the look of it, the cause was by the restraining of leather. And the jagged indents indicated something long and metallic. “. I hope I wasn’t involved in some .”

Knowing the marks will fade by the hours, since it wasn’t that deep, Jaebum shrugged carelessly and walked out of the bathroom. He assumed that a cab took him to the villa instead of his apartment because the villa’s address was easier to remember when he’s drunk. So, it didn’t really concern him that he woke up in one of the guest room’s bed. It’s his house anyways, he could sleep wherever he wanted.

Jaebum made his way downstairs sluggishly and into the kitchen. He was thirsty and dealing with a headache. Jaebum opened his fridge and fetched a water bottle. He chugged the whole bottle in one go. As he turned around to throw away the empty bottle, something caught his tired eyes; a bowl of haejangguk (pork-based soup/Korean hangover soup), still warm, sat obediently on the table, begging to be eaten. Next to it was a bottle of some pills to ease the hangover and a piece of paper. Jaebum picked up the note and without missing a single second, he immediately recognized it belonging to Youngjae. Youngjae’s doctor handwriting is one of the things about the doctor that Jaebum would never forget. Jaebum suddenly became nervous. He swallowed hard, then began reading the note:

Good morning, I hope you’re feeling better, Jaebum. You were really really, I mean, really drunk last night, and I happened to find you at a playground while I was on my walk. Since you were pretty much dysfunctional at that moment, I decided to help you get home. We knew each other after all. I didn’t have the heart to left you there in the cold, drunk and defenseless. Anyways, as you can see, you’re home safely. And yeah, I sort of stayed after because some things started to happen, but no worries, I said I’d forget that it had ever happened. Whether you’ll remember it or not will be okay. I won’t be hurt if you don’t remember nor if you remember. Sorry I left early, I have work. But I did make you something to help you with your hangover. It might not taste as good as your cooking, but it’s the thought that counts, right? Enjoy.

P.S. About the other day, I’m really sorry. It’s just I was in a very bad mood. I’m sorry. I know I shouldn’t have left you alone like that.

With trembling hands, Jaebum sat down unsteadily in front of the bowl of soup. Jaebum’s head started spinning like crazy, calculating different scenarios and possibilities that could have occurred last night with Youngjae. What did he do? What did they do?

The agent hit his head in frustration as nothing but a blank film roll played through his brain. There has to be something he remembers. But it was absolute emptiness. Not even a spark was evident. It’s like someone brainwashed him.

The only memory Jaebum had was the pathetic and desperate crack in his drunken voice when he was shouting and begging Youngjae to love him. Jaebum shook his head, mortified. Has Youngjae become such an important light in Jaebum’s darkness? Youngjae totally got Jaebum wrapped tightly around his finger. Even in his sober state, Jaebum would kill to have Youngjae willingly give him a sweet kiss.

“You’re so ed, Jaebum,” the agent sighed as he stared at the bowl of soup, “Get yourself together.” Jaebum stared at the prepared meal a bit longer. A smile slowing creeped upon his swollen red lips. He couldn’t help but feeling all giddy because Youngjae had cared enough to made him breakfast. It doesn’t help Jaebum’s resistance of trying to let Youngjae go, though. It just make him wants to keep holding on even more.

Even if holding onto something he can’t have hurts more than it'll ever hurt, Jaebum still wants to. He wants to feel hurt than not feel anything at all. Even if his grip drives him crazy and pulled him away from his sanity, Jaebum still wants to. He wants to love until he’s mad and drunk on nothing but the overwhelming scent of bloody red roses.

Sana exited the patient’s room after happily reminding them to call her if they needed anything. The nurse walked back towards the front desk. Early morning shifts weren’t her kind of cup of coffee, but she don’t got much of a choice. Senior Doctor, Yenny, had went off on vacation with her husband, the hospital needed as many workers as possible to fill in the gap of not having the presence of its head Doctor.

“Done already?” The administrative clerk, Ryeowook, questioned as he noticed Sana setting her clipboard down on top of the countertop of the huge, fancy, modernistic reception desk.

“Yeah,” Sana sighed, leaning her body against the desk. “There weren’t much.”

“Figures. Doctor Choi did a lot before he left last night,” Ryeowook pulled out a mini chocolate bar from the pocket of his uniform. He handed the piece of candy to Sana.

“Ugh. Don’t tell me he stayed until midnight and only dragged his tired out of here when he realized he needed to feed himself,” Sana said, rolling her doe eyes as she accept the candy that was offered to her.

Ryeowook smiled softly, “That’s exactly what he did. You sure know him well.”

Sana scoffed, unwrapping the chocolate, “Of course. I’ve known him for so long that I can tell you how often he does his laundry and what kind of cologne he wears.”

“I’ve always been curious. Did you, at some point, fell for him?”

Sana sighed, letting herself wanders around her lost thoughts, “Yeah. But that was a long time ago, before he went overseas, when he still had a girlfriend whom he loved so much.”

“Unrequited, huh?”

“Definitely. I mean who wouldn’t fall for him? Youngjae is… He’s special, you know?”

Ryeowook just smiled. He knows perfectly what Sana was referring to. She’s right. Who wouldn’t fall for the angelic, adorable, talented, gentlemen-like Doctor Choi. Hell, the whole hospital loves him. From higher-ups to interns. Everyone.

“Too bad he’s taken now,” Sana grinned. “But it’s okay because his boyfriend is the epitome of a god. Jesus, Ryeowook, have you seen the man?”

Ryeowook chuckled, “Yeah, I have. I’m pretty sure everyone has. Jaebum -that’s his name, right? He’s the talk of this place. What did the young nurses say? Hmmm… Something about “they must have such a nice life.” It’s ridiculous, really.”

To this, Sana laughed, “I can see that, though. Jaebum is insanely hot, and Youngjae is so able. Lowkey wants a tape of those two getting it on like bunnies.”

“Oh, my God. You’re incurable,” Ryeowook laughed.

“Both of you are disgusting,” a hoarse voice cuts in between the laughters of the nurse and clerk. “I hope you both find your nasty asses in a church and have the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to bless your poor lost souls. Also, do the world a favor and lock yourself up in the basement of the cathedral and rot to hell, please.”

Sana and Ryeowook turned to the direction of the sudden interruption and found the infamous doctor walking towards them from the entrance. Without missing a single beat, Sana squealed in pure excitement, her cheeks were flushing, and her hands were clapped over . Ryeowook’s jaw dropped a thousand stairs down.

“What?” Youngjae titled his head in confusion.

“CHOI YOUNGJAE!” Sana’s shrilling voice pierced the said male’s ears. “Have you seen yourself???? Oh, my God. Someone, please, save me. You can’t possibly be doing this to me right now. I can’t!” The fiery glint in Sana’s eyes startled Youngjae a little.

“What are you talking about? I don’t under-“

“Doctor Choi,” it was Ryeowook’s turn to gawked at the sight before him, “May I advise you to immediately report to your office and look in the GODDAMN MIRROR! This. Is. Scandalous.”

“How rude, Choi Youngjae. At least wear a collared shirt. You’re literally in a scoop neck, exposing everything. Just when we were talking about it, too. Wow…” Sana stared in amazement, but her mind is mischievous.

“You guys are crazy,” Youngjae shook his head and sighed. “Maybe y’all need some sleep.”

The doctor walked off. Sana's and Ryeowook’s eyes never left the doctor, at least not until they saw him disappeared down the hall. Then, the two turned to each other.

“Did you saw that-“

“YES I ING DID!”

Youngjae had no idea what was that all about. He shrugged it off as the duo being weird like usual. He was used to it. Although Ryeowook didn’t know him for as long as Sana did, Youngjae always thought those two spelled “trouble” whenever they’re together. Exhaling heavily, Youngjae opened the door to his office.

The sweet smell of the lavender air freshener floats throughout the room. Youngjae stalked over to his desk and puts down his bag and keys. He stood still for a bit before deciding to take a shower. He wasn’t home last night. And he got to work by a cab he managed to catch in front of Jaebum’s extravagant neighborhood. Youngjae regretted not stopping by his house, but whatever, he has everything he needs in his office anyway.

It didn’t took long for Youngjae to scrub his body and wash his hair. He was out in under ten minutes. Yenny isn’t around, so Youngjae can’t afford to have long relaxing showers.

As he buttoned up his olive colored shirt, Youngjae caught his reflection in the bathroom’s mirror. He froze. His eyes tripled in size. His hands immediately latched onto his neck like a leech.

“…” Youngjae gasped out after coming back to his senses from a sudden shock. From his jawline to his collarbone, tiny, angry, purplish-red bites decorated along his neck. Some were quite greater in size than the tiny ones. However, being a doctor, Youngjae knew awfully well that those marks will not be fading anytime soon. They were made with great determination of having them tattooed deep against his skin. Youngjae shuddered at the thought of last night; he now wonders how long was Jaebum already awake and doing this before Youngjae could pushed him off. He’s so ed.

Youngjae quickly finished buttoning his shirt with slightly trembling hands. Normally, the doctor preferred to leave the first two buttons, but he couldn’t risk it now. Even with the two buttons, quite a few were displayed like an art piece. “How the hell did I not notice?” Youngjae scold himself; he can’t hide them with anything.

He understands why Sana and Ryeowook were so shocked.

The doctor left the bathroom, grumbling like a child who’s just been yelled at by his mother for being out too long. How is he supposed to work? People are definitely going to about this.

“Stupid Im Jaebum,” Youngjae pouted, fingertips lightly touching the exposed marks that shyly flowered itself on his milky white, slender neck. The doctor felt embarrassed and self-conscious all of a sudden. It didn’t help when he started blushing by himself when memories of Jaebum’s rough lips anchoring at his neck; when he started remembering the harsh biting of Jaebum’s teeth, possessively claiming Youngjae for himself. The doctor shivered. This isn’t good. Shaking off the strange feeling, Youngjae ran a hand frustratingly through his damped hair, “It’s only morning and already happened. Could this day get any worse…”

Jinyoung wasn’t going to come. But Mark had done such a good job convincing him. And there’s no way in hell Jinyoung would pass up such a perfect chance, especially when it’s Mark himself who offered it.

“Come on, baby,” Mark said, “You have to go.”

“He’s angry, Mark,” Jinyoung replied, “He doesn’t want to see me right now.”

“You don’t know that.”

“Yes, I do. He’s my best friend. I know.”

“Just go, please? Talk it out.”

“Mark-“

“If you go, I’ll let you me.”

“-stop- wait, what did you say?” Jinyoung stopped talking altogether. Surely, Mark didn’t just…

“I know it’s been a long time, and it’ll probably going to hurt like hell,” Mark calmly smiled, “But if you go right now and have a nice little talk with your best buddy, even if it hurts, I’ll endure it for you.”

“Baby, are you sure? I mean, I, uh, wow, I’m very grateful and awfully excited, but, um, about Youngjae, I can’t…”

Mark quirked an eyebrow, but his expression soon turned into an amusing smirk, “Are you telling me that you’re giving up the opportunity to slam me against the wall and me senseless? This is new.”

“W-what? I've never said that. I-“

“Choose, sweetheart. You wanna be inside me or not.”

“This isn’t fair, Mark! You’re using your body to strike a deal!”

“Choose, Jinyoung,” Mark commanded, dominance laced his deep voice.

Jinyoung gulped. God, it always turns him on. “Can we do it tonight? Like can I top tonight? You said I can do it, right?”

Mark playfully smirked, “Depends on your results with Youngjae, babe.” The Captain leaned over and the shell of Jinyoung’s ear, causing the said male to shudder. “Good luck.”

“This isn’t fair! How come you always manage to twist things?!” Jinyoung whined as he watches his husband relaxedly strolling away. He pouted, arms crossing over his chest. Mark is having so much fun teasing him. It’s time for revenge. If Jinyoung go sort things out with Youngjae right now, tonight, he’ll make sure Mark pays for all the jokes he’d ever played on him.

So here he is, sitting at the usual table with his lunch in front of him. It didn’t take long for his best friend to casually entering the cafeteria, only to stop when their eyes met. Jinyoung awkwardly crooked a smile, hoping Youngjae could give him a couple of his time. Jinyoung saw Youngjae sighed before the doctor headed on over. The agent’s smile grew wider.

“Hey, I bought you lunch,” Jinyoung pushed the plastic bag across the table. “Cheeseburger and fries, just like you would want-“ The agent paused, his eyes strained on the deep purple constellations spreading massively all over his best friend’s neck.

“Thank you,” Youngjae said. “And stop acting like you’ve never seen hickeys before.”

“Hickeys… ?” Jinyoung wasn’t sure what to make of this.

“Yes, hickeys. Why is everyone overreacting, seriously.”

Jinyoung looked up at Youngjae. The doctor was blushing.

“Who did this?”

“I don’t know.”

“Youngjae.”

“Look, just drop it, okay? I don’t want to talk about it.”

“It’s Jaebum, isn’t it?”

“Jin-“

“He did this.”

“I- Okay, it’s Jaebum, all right? Happy?”

“No. Did he do anything else? Did he hurt you? Did he do something you didn’t like? Youngjae, did Im-ing-Jaebum you?” Jinyoung bombarded the questions through gritted teeth.

“NO! HE DIDN’T,” Youngjae’s wide eyes were bloodshot, nevertheless, looked very defensive. Of Jaebum.

“Youngjae-“

“He was drunk, okay? It wasn't his fault. Besides, we didn’t do anything.”

Jinyoung opened his mouth say something, but he quickly closed it, realizing that Jaebum has the same effect on Youngjae, too. Why else would Youngjae be avoiding Jinyoung’s gaze? And why else would the doctor's cheeks flushed with embarrassment like that?

“So he was drunk,” Jinyoung scoffed. “No wonder he wasn’t on time today.”

“He wasn’t?” Youngjae finally fixed his eyes on Jinyoung’s.

“Actually, I haven’t seen him all morning.”

“Oh.”

Youngjae looked down at the wrapped burger that he had taken out. He didn’t feel like eating for some reason.

“Youngjae, I’m here to say that I’m sorry I haven’t tell you about Suzy sooner,” Jinyoung began, looking at Youngjae nervously. “I just wanted you to move on before I could even tell you-“

“It’s okay,” Youngjae softly said. “I understand, hyung. I shouldn’t have screamed at you. It wasn’t your fault. And I wasn’t being reasonable. I’m sorry.”

“Young-“

Hyung,” Youngjae said, “It’s all right. I’m all right.”

Jinyoung studied Youngjae. Always together since they were small, Jinyoung knows when Youngjae is lying. “No, you’re not. You still-“

“Hyung!” Youngjae raised his voice, completely annoyed at this whole conversation. “I don’t want to hear it. Not right now.”

Jinyoung sighed, “Youngjae-ah, what exactly do you want right now?”

The answer didn’t come right away. Of course, Youngjae was contemplating on what to say. What does he want? He doesn’t even know himself. The stuff that’s happening, they confuse the hell out of Youngjae.

“I wasn’t going to bring this up, but since you’re not answering,” the agent’s tone was serious. Youngjae hasn’t heard it in such a long time. “Jaebum wants you.”

“No, he doesn’t. He’s just-“

“You know he does, Youngjae.”

“I don’t.”

“I’ve never imagine the day where I’ll be sitting in front of you and telling you this; but if you’re done with him, let him go.”

Youngjae’s head jerked up, his eyes were wide and bored into Jinyoung’s calmed ones, “Excuse me? What does that supposed to mean? Why am I getting all the here? I was just giving him a chance! Even you…”

“Trust me, Youngjae. If anyone, I’m the person who understands this mess the best, well, with the exception of Mark, but what I’m saying is that you should stop,” Jinyoung looked at Youngjae with much pity. “I know Jaebum is very sweet and caring and everything you need right now, especially after Suzy, but Youngjae, you-“ Jinyoung bit his bottom lip, searching for a way to warn Youngjae without exposing any confidential informations. “You’re in the dark. You don’t know what’s really going on. If you get yourself involved with him, you’re going to get hurt. A lot. I don’t want you to get hurt-“

“Stop it. I’m not a child anymore. I’m a grown man. I can protect myself,” Youngjae scoffed, arms stubbornly crossing over his chest. A long pause. And then, “Plus, Jaebum is different. He’s everything I want but can’t have. I feel like he don’t deserve a broken piece of like me. He deserves so much better. There’s ton of people out there who would kiss the ground he walks on.”

Jinyoung took a good look at his best friend. Although just a couple of minutes ago he was suggesting Youngjae to stay away from catching feelings, the agent couldn’t help but smiled softly. Youngjae is getting there. Youngjae is finally moving on. “You like him, don’t you?”

“W-what? N-no way! I’m straight, remember?” Youngjae’s face had ‘panic’ written all over.

“WELL, in case you’ve forgotten, I WAS straight, too. And so WAS Jaebum,” Jinyoung pointed out, unimpressed at Youngjae’s horrible excuse. “It just took the right person to push all the right buttons.”

“But your case was different! Mark was already bi, and experienced, and he happened to somehow seduced your spoiled . I don’t think Jaebum has always swing that way,” Youngjae defended.

“You’re ridiculous. Feelings are feelings, Youngjae-ah. Come on, you know that, and I should be the last person to tell you that since I used to don’t give a flying about feelings, and worse, love. But you’re a passionate lover. Surely, you could-“

“I don’t like him!” Youngjae slammed his fist on top of the table. Fortunately, there were a lot of people around, so no one was really paying attention to the doctor’s outburst. “Look, I know what feelings are, all right? I know what love is. And this isn’t love. Okay, sure, I like him, but not in that way. He’s a nice person. He’s charming, and he always knows what to say and when to say it; he’s smooth as , and he’s a great cook, and he’s strong, and he has such an amazing humor, and he’s always gentle -except when he’s drunk, he gets quite scary- but anyways, the point is that he’s very sweet and he treats me right…”

Jinyoung quirked an eyebrow. I don’t know about you, Youngjae-ah, but that sounded like a huge confession.

“But I don’t like him. I’m not even attracted to him. He’s just there to keep me company. I hate being alone,” Youngjae finished off in a light whisper.

If there’s anything Jinyoung could do right now, he’ll do it in a heartbeat. But it’s between the two, so he didn’t want to meddle. Besides, didn’t Youngjae said that he’s not a child anymore? And that he could protect himself? Jinyoung doubted that, but he’ll let Youngjae try. The last time Youngjae had went his way out and attempted to protect himself, he came back more broken than before.

Jinyoung knows Jaebum is capable of protecting Youngjae. The problem is that Youngjae is fighting so hard to keep Jaebum out.

And Suzy is still around, holding Youngjae back from actually stepping a step forward.

Walking in on a cute nurse ing a very flustered doctor’s shirt was not how Jaebum had expected to be greeted. He was expecting Ryeowook or another administrative clerk to flash him a knowing smile before they picked up the phone and dialed for his boyfriend; like how it usually goes.

“Lemme see!” Sana squealed as her flexible fingers worked their way to undone the few first buttons of her friend’s shirt.

“W-wh-what are you-you doing?! St-stop it!” Youngjae struggled to smack Sana’s wandering hands away. “I can get a restrain order on you!”

“Oh, darling, get whatever you want. I don’t care as long as I get to see those y bruises!”

“Sa-Sana!”

Jaebum cleared his throat loudly. He’s already not in the mood; Sana was just adding onto his jealousy. How dare she? Jaebum inwardly growled, although his face was still emotionless. Even if his feelings weren’t reciprocated like he wanted, Youngjae is still his boyfriend, by title. So, it gave Jaebum the right to be snarling with possessiveness.

“OH. Isn’t it the owner of those lovely stakes of claim?” Sana turned towards Jaebum, an artful smile played naughtily on her pink lips. “How’d you do, Mister Im? Oh, wait. You do Youngjae-“

“SANA! LEAVE. NOW.”

“Awwwwee but-“

“Leave,” Youngjae pinched the bridge of his nose tiredly.

“This isn’t your office, Doctor Choi,” Sana rolled her eyes, “In fact, it’s the entrance of the goddamn hospital. You can't tell me to leave. I’ll leave whenever I feel like it.”

“Please, leave,” Jaebum’s authoritative voice resonated clearly against Sana’s ears.

She smirked, “As your command, sir.”

“What? You listen to him and not me?” Youngjae scoffed. "This is ridiculous."

“You’re not daddy enough, dearie,” Sana smiled innocently.

“Wh-what?? Daddy???” Youngjae’s face sank a thousand shades deeper in red. “W-what are you-“

“Anyways, have a nice time. And, please, don’t out here. Youngjae has a very comfortable couch in his office! Bye!” Sana winked at Jaebum playfully and skipped her way down the hall.

“You-“ Youngjae sighed and turned his attention towards the suited man in front of him. “Sorry, she’s always like that, sprouting nonsense. Just ignore her…”

Jaebum’s breath caught in his throat as his eyes dragged themselves along the blooming purplish-red buds that’s messily painted on Youngjae’s slender neck. Whatever the doctor was saying about a certain teasing nurse was a blur in Jaebum’s sensitive ears. All he could focus on were those distracting, angry, possessive marks. God, they looked ing good on Youngjae.

“Yeah, so, nothing’s weird here. So, hello, Jaebum. I honestly did not expect to see you this soon,” Youngjae looked up at Jaebum. Something was off. Jaebum’s gaze was… So similar to that night… Last night… The night that Jaebum had climbed on top of Youngjae. That look in Jaebum’s cold eyes was identical to the glint that’s present in Jaebum’s eyes right at this moment; the look of a hungry predator. Youngjae swallowed; he wonders if Jaebum is drunk, again. “H-hey, what’s wrong-“ Youngjae held his breath as Jaebum’s face suddenly appeared in front of him in an inhumane speed.

Jaebum doesn’t know what’s he’s doing. But he couldn’t stop it. His eyes were fixated on Youngjae’s neck as the tips of his cold fingers lightly ran over the marks that he made. Jaebum could hear the tiny surprised gasp that left Youngjae’s sinful mouth.

And then it happened.

Jaebum could hear the suppressed moans and whimpers that escaped that mouth as he on that patch of milky skin. Jaebum could feel the curve of those hips as his blunt nails dug into them, gripping them tightly and possessively. Jaebum could feel the heat from the sensation of burning skin under his palms as he slowly dragged his cold hands down that body, worshipping every inch of that beautiful soft skin. Jaebum could taste

“Jae-Jaebum,” Youngjae exhaled breathlessly, “I don’t-don’t think this is the good place to be-be this clo-close to each other…”

Jaebum’s eyes flickered up at Youngjae’s wide ones, “Did we… Last night, did we…” As much as Jaebum wants Youngjae, the agent would be horribly disappointed at himself if they actually went beyond neck-kissing. Jaebum didn’t want their first to be when he was drunk and incapable of remembering everything once the sun rises.

“N-n-no! O-of course not! You were drunk…” Youngjae looked frantic. The doctor was embarrassed. His cheeks wouldn’t stop flushing red and burning like crazy. Feeling exposed under Jaebum’s intense gaze, Youngjae softly cleared his throat and looked away.

Jaebum studied Youngjae’s face carefully. He couldn’t believe he was so ing close with Youngjae, yet he can’t remember . What a shame. Jaebum realized his drunk self has a lot of balls and is very aggressive. “I’m sorry.”

“Wh-what… ?”

“I’m sorry I scared you so much that you had to tied me down,” Jaebum gently grabbed Youngjae’s chin and turned the doctor’s head so their eyes can meet.

“What-what are y-you-“

“You did tied me, right? Those lines on my forearms…”

“Yeah, I used your leather jacket,” Youngjae shyly answered, eyes sort of adverting Jaebum’s. “It took awhile, but I did it. Or things could have been worse… You were halfway to completely stripping me…”

“Sober me would have never done that,” Jaebum said, voice dangerously low. “No matter how much I want to.”

Jaebum had to bit his inner cheek to frantically stop his mind from wandering off to the gutter where he impatiently, like an animal, rips those unnecessary articles of clothing off of Youngjae and roams his hands all over the doctor just to touch and feel and admire at how beautiful Choi Youngjae is. He wants to-

“Please, don’t look at me like that…” Youngjae said in a very quiet and soft whisper that’s meant only for Jaebum’s ears.

“Like what?”

“Like,” Youngjae his lips nervously, “Like you’re going to eat me…”

“Hmm, maybe I do,” Jaebum smirked. “I’m kind of hungry.”

Youngjae gulped, “Well, nor-normally at this time, you-you would come and pick me up for din-dinner… So…”

Jaebum stared at Youngjae comically for a few seconds or so. Then, the agent pulled away from Youngjae’s personal bubble, laughing amusingly. “God, you’re so cute!”

“Wh-what…” Youngjae rubbed the nape of his neck awkwardly.

“You somehow managed to ruin the mood, but it’s all right. We can work on that,” Jaebum winked.

“W-work on what…”

“Come on, let’s go eat like usual,” Jaebum grabbed Youngjae’s wrist. The doctor flinched a bit. Jaebum froze. “Baby, what’s wrong…”

“I don’t know,” Youngjae winced. What the hell?

Youngjae softly released himself from Jaebum’s gentle hold. The doctor rolled up his sleeves, revealing a bruised wrist. The purplish-green color was ugly against Youngjae’s pale skin. Jaebum feels his lungs constricting painfully.

“I-I’m sor-sorry,” Jaebum gasped, feeling his throat slowing closing, trapping the air flow, “I-I, oh, God, Youngjae, I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you-hell I could never hurt you. . I-“ His breathing becomes harder.

Youngjae quickly grabbed Jaebum’s arm and dragged him over to the nearest seat, “Breathe, Jaebum-ah, calm down, it’s okay. It wasn’t your fault. Everything’s all right now. So breathe. Come on, inhale, exhale,” the doctor softly rubbing Jaebum’s chest with one hand and the other lightly the agent’s back.

Jaebum’s hand automatically grip onto Youngjae’s desperately. The agent tried to regain control over his body. Each breath he took was painful. His heart feels like it’ll stop beating after a couple more exhales.

The last thing Jaebum wants is the image of him laying a hand on the love of his life in a harsh, hurtful way. God, Jaebum hates himself. He always up when Youngjae’s involved. It’s like he couldn’t think straight whenever he’s with Youngjae. It’s way too late to go back and deny all this . , he loves him so much.

“I love you,” Jaebum said while looking into Youngjae’s pretty crystal-like eyes.

“Jaebum, you don’t know what you’re talking about,” Youngjae bit his lower lip, “You’re just confused-“

“Don’t pull that on me, Choi Youngjae,” Jaebum lowered his gaze darkly. His breathing finally reached normalcy. However, his heart was still beating like mad.“I know what I want. And I want you. God, I want you so ing bad, Youngjae-ah. You don’t even know what you do to me. You don’t even know the way you make me feel. I’ve never felt this way before. Never. You’re the first. And you’re the one. So heaven’s forbid, just let me ing love you, Choi Youngjae.”

“Jaebum…”

“Let me make you fall head-over-heels for me like you did to me. Let me make you fall for me so hard that you only want me and only need me. Let me make me your world, because baby, I’m the only one for you.”

“Take him out.”

“E-excuse me, sir?”

“Im Jaebum, he’s stalling.”

Stalling? Don’t make me laugh. He’s not even doing his mission anymore.”

“You’re right. Is he even trying?”

“He’s only hindering our plans. And I thought he could help. What a poor choice I’ve made.”

“So what you want to do now?”

“We'll build a bridge and throw Captain Im over the other side, then destroy the bridge and give him no boats.”

“That sounds perfect.”

“It is perfect. Without Im Jaebum in the picture, that doctor easily becomes ours.”

“You’re forgetting Mark Tuan and Vice Captain Park.”

“Oh, that’s simple. We’ll throw them over that bridge, too.”

“Except those three can team up and turn hell upside down.”

“They can’t turn if they drown, right?”

Laughters echoed throughout the spacious room of a sophisticated building.

“This will go so beautifully well.”

“Indeed.”
