Chapter 12

He couldn’t remember even making it home, he took a few painkillers before collapsing onto the couch and closing his eyes. What he was feeling was different from what he usually felt when he felt sick. He lost his appetite yes but this felt different. He curled up hoping the pain would stop.

He must have fallen asleep the next he knew he was awoken by banging on his door. It took him a few minute to move. He got up slowly he legs felt heavy holding the wall as he opened the door.

“Jaejoong….

“Yunho… what are you doing here?” Jaejoong asked, of all people why Yunho was at his door.

“I was worried; you didn’t look so well when you left work,” Yunho told him. Yunho wanted to ask what was wrong but looking at Jaejoong only made him more concerned. He watched as Jaejoong moved his hand almost snaking around his abdomen.

“You don’t need to concern yourself with me, I can take care of myself... all I need is a good rest,” Jaejoong told. “I’ll see you at work.” Jaejoong tried to close the door but Yunho wasn’t going to allow that Happen.

“Can I come in for a moment?” Yunho asked.

“No….

"Please Jaejoong, just hear me out," Yunho said with a trembling voice.

Jaejoong didn’t know why but he let go of the door allowing Yunho in his home "What is it?"  He asked when suddenly, a sharp pain stabbed him in the lower right abdomen.  He kept his composer as he looked to Yunho

"Jaejoong I want you to understand, I really like you.” Yunho couldn’t help but mince his words. “I know I started it but when my wife died… I felt…. I would only hurt you.” Jaejoong had lost Yunho he was looking at him, but the word he spoke weren’t sinking in. “I think you're wonderful and think highly of you.” Yunho was babbling.

“Yunho can you get to the point please…” Jaejoong felt awful he felt he was breaking into pieces while the pain in his abdomen intensified.

“I wanted to apologise of how I acted I shouldn’t have left like that ….Jaejoong I really want to start something with you. I’m just not sure what it someone to…I want us to be more.

"What?" Jaejoong muttered, barely able to hear him, He felt himself fall forward, but he didn’t fall, he felt arm holding him.

“I knew something was wrong, hold on?” Yunho told him as Jaejoong shut his eyes as he clutched his stomach. “Jaejoong were does it hurt?” He asked but no word left Jaejoong mouth as he held back the pain. Something's was wrong.  Jaejoong couldn’t tell why it was hurting so much? The last thing he remembers was Yunho picking him up and running from the apartment before he felt lost.

When Yunho got to the hospital until he was taken, he was told they believe that Jaejoong appendix had burst. It was then he realise the serious of the precaution. Jaejoong was rushed into surgery as soon they had the diagnosis. Yunho was in shock if he didn’t go to Jaejoong what would have happened. He dread to think,He collapsed into a chair in the family room. It reminded him of Taeyeon accident.  Awful memories that lingered, He picked up his phone dialling a number, “Umma can you pick Karam up from day-care, I know I said I would but something came up.” He accepted an earful from him mother but he would explain later right know someone needed to be here for Jaejoong. When an hour past Yunho went looking for answers he was informed it could be up to another hour before Jaejoong came out of surgery.

When Jaejoong woke up, he didn’t feel in pain but he did feel like headed. He looked around wondering where he was when he felt someone was holding his hand in theirs. He turned to the side Yunho was there holding his hand in his he hadn’t realised Jaejoong was looking at him until Jaejoong lip quivered as he hiccupped.

“Jaejoong…” Yunho leaned forward with a smile, “Thank god,You really know how to worry someone.”

"Where…?” Jaejoong looked around.

“Your appendix burst that why you were in pain….” Yunho told him, “You were very lucky I came by your apartment, it was really serious Jaejoong.” Yunho explained. “But at least your fine now…. You got to look after yourself. “

“Jaejoong looked down everything felt heavy. He noted the IV running into his veins. “You’ll have to stay in for a few days, as you appendix burst toxin were released into your blood stream. The doctor said the antibiotic should clear it up. Do you feel any pain?” Jaejoong shook his head no at the moment he felt numb. “Good, I was worried about you Jaejoong," Yunho sighed in relief, While Jaejoong gazed at Yunho seeing the worried look. "I just wanted to apologise to you. I realise I hurt you …..” Jaejoong looked down at himself they must have changed him into a hospital gown it wasn't until he lifted his head up he felt the pain, he lay back down turning to look at Yunho. He didn’t really want to speak about what had happened but he should, shouldn’t he?

“You hurt me…..” Yunho looked down at him thought Jaejoong couldn’t look him in the eyes. “I didn’t know what to think, I thought maybe I did something wrong…

“You didn’t it was all me….” Yunho spoke out of turn.

“But Still I felt lost and humiliated….. " Jaejoong told him. “I don’t bare myself to people on a whim Yunho…. But you felt different to me some I thought we could share yet I realise it not all you fault your still in love with your wife. And I can’t compete with what’s in your heart.  You loved her dearly and she was taken from you….It’s really not your fault Yunho just bad timing...But it fine. Thank you for taking care of me and bringing me to the hospital. Jaejoong tried to pull his hand out of Yunho though it had little effect. Yunho was just about to say something when a nurse walked into the room informing Yunho they needed to run a few checks. Yunho stood to the side watching. They couldn’t so keyhole surgery as the appendix had burst they hand to clear the infected of the surrounding area. The nurse gave Jaejoong painkiller with made his eyes felt droopy. But before he drifts off he spoke to Yunho. “You should go home Karam waiting on you…” before Yunho could say another word Jaejoong had drifted off.  Yunho couldn’t help but stay a while longer. Taking Jaejoong hand in his and kissed it. He really cared for Jaejoong and thought they didn’t know each other long. Jaejoong made him feel different like his heart was opening up to something, something warm…. Before he left him couldn’t help but kiss Jaejoong lip whispering, “Give me another chance won’t you?"

Hopefully this is a new beginning for them both. I wonder will Jaejoong give Yunho the chance. Guess we will just have to see.
