“Of all times I decided to be late, this is definitely not a good day!”

 

Jessica hastily ran to the lobby of the Kwon Empire Group's main tower, carrying her high heels towards the line of elevators. She is very late for an interview which was supposed to be thirty minutes ago. A sleepyhead she is, she didn’t hear the alarm she set off.

 

“Ugh! And I hate running! If only I didn’t need a job.” The brunette further complains as she puts on her heels waiting in front of the lift. She tucks the bangs sticking out of her bun, behind her ears. Lightly running her hands on the wrinkles of her dress in an attempt to smooth it out, and fixing the thick eyeglasses she wore on her face.

 

Jessica felt her phone vibrate and sees a text message.

 

From: Unknown Number | 9:48 AM Good morning, Ms. Jung. This is the HR assistant of the Kwon Empire Group. We would like to inform you that your interview will be delayed for thirty minutes as the boss had an important event to attend to. You may continue to proceed to the HR Department's waiting area. Thank you.

 

Omo! The heavens are still on my side! Jessica mentally cheered. She puts her phone back inside her bag and continues to wait in front of the elevator. The lift suddenly opens showing her a sight of a man and woman inside, flirting with each other.

 

“Oh my goodness~ Stop it! It tickles sweetie,” the woman playfully tells the man.

 

Jessica hesitated to get inside especially when the unknown lady pulled the guy in for a kiss. She looks down on the floor embarrassed to witness the public display of affection between the two. Seriously? Can't they get their own room? My innocent eyes~

 

“Ciao, sweetie. See you tonight,” cooed the lady in an off-shouldered black dress with matching stilettos as they broke apart. The woman steps out of the elevator doors and saunters away confidently. She looked well-dressed and with class, compared to the guy who was left behind inside the elevator. The man was only wearing a black shirt, jeans, and rubber shoes. Yet, Jessica sensed the charm he gave off despite the plain looking clothes.

 

Jessica steps inside the lift still looking elsewhere avoiding eye contact with the unknown man. She has an interview, and there is no time to be meddling with other people’s business and checking them out. Focus, Jessica!
