Chapter 32: Birthday Party at the hospital.

It’s been a week since Youngmin is in the hospital. Today is Gyuwon’s Birthday. She was sleeping in her bedroom when she heard her mom and dad singing “Happy Birthday” to her.

-      Saeng il chuk ha hab ni da! Saeng il chuk ha hab ni da! Sarang ha neun Gyuwon! Saeng il chuk ha hab ni da! –Gyuwon’s parents and Minho sang in unison holding a birthday cake. Gyuwon woke up and rubbed her eyes.

-      Eomma! Appa! Minho! –she said smiling looking at the cake.

-      Good morning sweetheart. C’mon blow the candles! –her mom said smiling. Gyuwon nodded and blew the birthday candles.

-      Thank you so much, Eomma and Appa.

-      Hey! What about me? –Minho said pouting.

-      Thank you too Minho. –she said patting his head.

-      I prepared Hot Cakes for breakfast since I know you love them. –her mom said.

-      Jinja? Yummy! –Gyuwon said rubbing her belly.

-      Where do you want to go today? You’re very lucky since today is Saturday. Would you like to go to Lotte World? –her dad asked her.

-      Yes! I would love it! –Gyuwon said excited. –But first, I want to visit Youngmin to the hospital. –she said.

-      Aigoo, you are kinda obsessed with your boyfriend. –her dad said. Gyuwon pouted and blushed.

-      Of course you can go to visit Youngmin after you have breakfast. Then we can go to Lotte World. –her mom said putting her hand on Gyuwon’s shoulder.

-      Thank you, Eomma. –she said smiling.

Gyuwon had breakfast and got dressed. Then, her mom took her to the hospital. She opened the door of Youngmin’s room. She saw him reading a magazine and smiled.

-      Younguie! –she said greeting him.

-      Good morning Wonguie! –he said smiling brightly.

-      How are you? –she asked him.

-      I’m fine, a little bored. I was waiting for you.

-      Really?

-      Yes, because I was bored. –he said extending his arms.

-      Just because that or for something else? –she said.

-      Something else? –he said puzzled.

-      Youngmin-ah! Don’t pretend you don’t know. –she said chuckling.

-      I don’t know what? –he said confused.

-      Really? Are you seriously? I can’t believe you forgot! You’re the worst boyfriend ever! –she said upset and exited the room.

-      Wait Gyuwon… what did I forget? –Youngmin said thinking alone.

Gyuwon walked on the hallway very mad. Kwangmin was walking to Youngmin’s room and greeted her.

-      Good morning Gyuwon! Oh! And Happy Birthday! –he said grinning.

-      Even you remember! –Gyuwon told him in an angry tone and walked away.

-      What happened? –Kwangmin said.

Kwangmin entered to Youngmin’s room with a cup of coffee in his hand. He saw Youngmin with a thinking expression.

-      Kwangmin-ah, Gyuwon got mad at me because she said I forgot something. But I don’t know what I forgot. –he said putting his finger on his lip.

-      Hyung! Don’t tell me you forgot today is her birthday! That’s why she was very angry! You’re such a Babo! –Kwangmin said.

-      Mwo? Today is her birthday? –Youngmin said with a shocked expression with his jaw dropped. –but her birthday is the next week. Do you see the calendar right there? It says that today is June 9^th. –Youngmin said pointing at the calendar attached to the wall.

-      Uhh… hyung today is June 16^th. –Kwangmin said. Youngmin face palmed.

-      Are you seriously? Gyuwon must hate me right now. I’m the worst boyfriend in this world. What am I going to do Kwangmin? Kill me right now! –he said pulling Kwangmin’s shirt desperate.

-      Calm down hyung! You’re so dramatic! We’ll think about something… -Kwangmin said rubbing his chin. –Oh! I know! We can plan a birthday party for her! –Kwangmin said excited.

-      A birthday party… Kwangmin, I don’t know if you have noticed about it…- he said calmly and paused. - BUT I’M IN THE FREAKING HOSPITAL! –Youngmin said pissed off.

-      But we can invite all our friends and decorate your room with lots of balloons and buy a birthday cake… Oh! Also party hats! And you can buy her a present. –he said smiling.

-      You mean you will buy her a present, because I can’t get out of here. –Youngmin said with a poker face.

-      Uhmmm… yes, I think I will have to buy everything, right? –He said smiling.

-      Right. Please buy everything you said. I want this to be special. Well… it’s hard to imagine how a birthday party in a hospital could be special. But please, try to do your best. –Youngmin said and sighed.

-      Yes, hyung. Don’t worry. I’m sure she will love it! –he said clapping his hands.

-      Thanks for helping me. –Youngmin said.

-      You’re my hyung. I’m supposed to help you. –Kwangmin said grinning. –Well, I’ll come back soon with all the necessary for the party. Wait me here, ok? –Kwangmin said.

-      Of course I’ll wait you here! I can’t go out of here! –Youngmin said.

-      Oops… sorry hyung. I have forgotten about it. .-Kwangmin said innocently.

Kwangmin went to buy all the necessary things for planning Gyuwon’s birthday party with his little brother Hyunmin.

·         Balloons.

·         Banner.

·         Birthday hats.

·         Paper horns.

·         Snacks.

·         Cupcakes.

·         Drinks.

·         Cake.

And for Gyuwon's present:

·         A BIG teddy bear.

·         Chocolates.

Kwangmin and Hyunmin arrived to the hospital and entered to Youngmin’s room. Youngmin’s jaw dropped when he saw how much things they had bought.

-      Wow! You bought so many things! By the way, did you ask the hospital director if we could make a party here?

-      Yes, he said that there is no problem. –Kwangmin said grinning.

-      Ok, then I’ll help you to decorate the room. –Youngmin said trying to stand from the bed.

-      No thanks hyung. Hyunmin will help me and you will stay in bed. Your injuries haven’t healed yet.

-      But I wanted to help! –Youngmin whined pouting.

They finished decorating the room and Kwangmin called Namjoo, Hayoung, Minwoo, Donghyun, Ahjin and Hyunseong.

Everyone arrived at around seven. Kwangmin called Gyuwon with a plan in mind.

-      Yeoboseyo? –Gyuwon answered the phone.

-      Gyuwon! Please you have to come! Something happened to Youngmin! Please come! The doctors said he’s in critical situation right now! Hurry up and come please! –Kwangmin said acting like if he was crying.

-      What! –Gyuwon said and freaked out. She ran out her house and took a taxi to the hospital.

She was crying on the way to the hospital and hurried the taxi driver. “OMG! Youngmin please be strong, you have to be strong” she thought.

She arrived to the hospital crying she ran in the hallway and saw Kwangmin standing there “crying”. Actually he wet his eyes with water.

-      How is Youngmin? What happened to him? – Gyuwon said crying.

-      The doctor said he had a brain injury and that’s why he collapsed. He will go to surgery in thirty minutes.

-      Can I see him now? –Gyuwon said sobbing.

-      Yes, you can see him now before he gets in the operating room. –Kwangmin said with a serious expression.

Gyuwon nervously opened the door with Kwangmin behind her. She saw Youngmin’s room decorated and her friends were there. They started singing “Happy birthday”

She took a deep breath and started hitting Kwangmin’s chest.

-      I hate you with all my soul! I thought Youngmin was almost dying! I hate you! I hate you! –she said crying angry.

-      I’m sorry, but that was the only way you could come here since you were angry with Youngmin. –Kwangmin said hugging her while she was trying to calm down.

-      Hey! Stop hugging my girlfriend!  -Youngmin said upset.

-      All of this was your idea, right? –Gyuwon turned to Youngmin.

-      I promise you this time was Kwangmin’s idea. –Youngmin said shaking his head. –Happy birthday, Wonguie! –He said smiling.

-      C’mon, don’t get mad Gyuwon. We planned a birthday party for you. –Kwangmin said putting his arm around her shoulder.

-      Don’t touch me Kwangmin… -Gyuwon said with a poker face.

-      Yes, don’t touch my girlfriend! –Youngmin said and stuck out his tongue.

-      Happy birthday Unnie! –Namjoo and Hayoung said giving her two birthday presents. One from Namjoo and one from Hayoung.

-      Thank you! –Gyuwon said smiling.

Everyone gave her their presents and then Kwangmin lighted the cake candles and everyone started to sing “Happy Birthday” song.

-      Saeng il chuk ha hab ni da! Saeng il chuk ha hab ni da! Sarang ha neun Gyuwon! Saeng il chuk ha hab ni da! –All sang in unison. Gyuwon blew the candles and everyone clapped. Gyuwon stood next to Youngmin’s bed and he held her hand and kissed her cheek.

-      Aawww! You’re so cute together! –Minwoo said chuckling.

-      C’mon, let’s take a picture! –Donghyun said preparing the camera.

-      Thanks for everything Youngmin. I really thought you had forgotten my birthday. –Gyuwon said looking at Youngmin.

-      Smile and say kimchi! –Donghyun said.

-      Uhmmm… actually he did. –Kwangmin said.

-      3, 2,1 …

-      Mwo? –Gyuwon said turning her face to Youngmin angry. –Click! –the camera sounded.

So in the picture Gyuwon was looking angry at Youngmin, Youngmin with a surprised face and Kwangmin covering his mouth with widened eyes.
