Chapter 13: How can I trust in you?

Gyuwon was on the way to her class when she suddenly bumped into Jeongmin.

-      Hi! –He said smirking putting his arms around her.

-      Hi… -Gyuwon said rolling her eyes and getting off his hands from her.

-      I was thinking… now that I see Youngmin is not interested in you anymore, because it seems he likes that little girl… what do you think about going out with me this Friday?

-      Never in your dreams. –She turned around.

-      Why? Do you like someone? –He said taking her wrist.

-      Even if I do, it’s none of your business.

-      So… you like Youngmin? –He said teasingly.

The question suddenly surprised Gyuwon, she didn’t know if she was falling for Youngmin, at the first time it was funny to her how Youngmin “survived” for being a normal person; but now, she wants to spend more time with him, like if he needed her. Gyuwon stayed there thinking looking at the floor while Jeongmin was smirking.

-      So… your silence says everything. Anyway, you’re so stupid if you like him. He only wants to date with you because you’re the most popular girl in the school, he doesn’t really care about you. –Gyuwon raised her head to Jeongmin’s comment.

-      That’s not true… -She whispered.

-      Of course it is, he told me that he considered yourself like the “Alpha Female” and himself like the “Alpha Male” that’s why he wanted to go out with you, like all the guys in this school. You have to accept it Gyuwon. Youngmin would do anything for being more popular than he is now, he even manipulated Donghyun to make him believe that he was his real friend, but he only did it because he wants to be the leader of our group.

-      Why are you saying all of these things? Isn’t he suppose to be your friend?

-      My friend? I’m tired of him. He just treats us like toys. Aishh I would like that Donghyun opens his eyes and that he could see what kind of person Youngmin is. –He said rolling his eyes.

Gyuwon was holding her tears and biting her lips; she ran away and went to the rooftop. She started crying. “I can’t believe I trusted in you… I don’t even know why I did it. I thought you really wanted to be my friend for some kind of reason…but you lied. You’re like all the guys in this school, you see me as a challenge that anyone can have, but you think you can win the first place; like a price that you have to win. No one sees me as a person, sometimes I would like to be a normal girl… so I would have real friends” Gyuwon thought crying.

Youngmin was looking for Gyuwon at his class. “Did something happen? I saw her this morning, but she’s not here in class. I need to look for her” Youngmin thought worried.

-      Seongsaengnim, may I go to the bathroom? –Youngmin asked doing his aegyo.

-      Of course Kwangmin! –The teacher said smiling.

Youngmin rushed to the hallways, he looked for her in every part of the school, but he couldn’t find her, until he went to the rooftop and saw her sitting on the floor crying with her head on her knees and her arms around her legs… “She’s right there. Wait… why is she crying?” He thought.

-      Noona… -Youngmin said worried. She lifted her head and saw he was Youngmin.

-      Just go away… -She said hiding her head on her knees.

-      Noona… what happened? –Youngmin said taking her hand.

-      Don’t touch me! Just go away! –Gyuwon shouted sobbing.

-      I won’t. I can’t leave you here crying.

-      Don’t lie. You don’t even care about me.

-      What? What are you saying? Of course I care about you! –He said confused.

-      No, you don't.  You’re just like all the boys.

-      Noona…

-      I hate you! Just leave!

What Gyuwon said really hurt Youngmin. All that he has done for her, he became popular for her, he even resigned to being popular for her, he went to the forest, he cooked, he has done everything that he could for make her fall for him and… she said that she hates him. Tears started dropping for his eyes, he could stand everything, but not that the girl he loves says she hates him.

-      Why do you hate me? Do you know how much I have made for you? Do you have an idea of what I have resigned for you? And you say that you hate me… do you know how much I … - He was going to say that he loves her, but he couldn’t finished his sentence, he was really hurt.

-      You know what? You’re the first guy I gave a chance… but then knowing that you just wanted to be with me for being popular… it really hurt me…

-      What? Who told you that? I’m not with you because I want to be popular…

-      Don’t lie. I already know what's going on… “Alpha Male” and “Alpha Female” must be together. –She said between sobs. “How does she now about that? That’s just a stupid excuse I gave to my friends because I didn’t want them to think I’m a loser” He thought.

-      Where did you hear that? –He asked.

-      Does it matters? Just forget it I’m going to my class. –She said standing up.

-      Please hear me! –He said holding her hand facing her. He put his arms around her waist, Gyuwon tried to push him away but he was too strong.

-      Listen… Gyuwon… I really love you… I do. Please believe me.

-      How can I trust in you? How do I know you’re not like the other ones?

-      Please… just trust me… -He whispered.

-      I don’t know… I don’t know what to think about you…

-      Gyuwon, if I tell you why I want to be with you, you promise me you won’t laugh at me? –He said with a serious expression.

-      Well… when we were kids… you were my neighbor. One day, when I was ten, my parents told me they were divorcing. When I heard the news, I just freaked out and run away from my house and started crying loud. You were playing in the park and you saw me. “Why are you crying?” you said. “Because I’m alone in this world, no one loves me” I said crying. “You’re not alone, you have me” you said and gave me a cherry lollipop you were eating. “Don’t worry I will protect you” you said and hugged me. But… the other day, you have moved out to another neighborhood. My mother and yours are friends and she told me where you were studying. So I applied this school and I try to be your friend… because when I’m with you… I feel… protected… I feel… that I can be myself without worrying… I feel… that no one can hurt me… because you are by my side… because you will never leave me… -Youngmin said like a lost child.

Gyuwon could remember him, she didn’t remember it clearly, but she could still remember Youngmin. She looked him in the eyes and could feel he was being honest with her. She removed his tears from his cheeks with her thumb.

-      Don’t worry. I will be here to protect you. I won’t leave. –She said hugging him.

Youngmin hugged her back tightly, feeling protected.

-      I love you Noona. I really do. –He whispered her in her ear.

-      I know… -She whispered trying not to cry. Youngmin’s story touched her a lot.

The both looked straight in the eyes and stood there for a moment. Then, Youngmin started leaning slowly until their lips touched. Gyuwon kissed him back sweetly. It was their both first kiss. Youngmin had dated with some girls before but he was keeping his first kiss for Gyuwon. And for Gyuwon, this was the first time she was being interested in a boy. Youngmin was still holding her waist and with his free hand pulled her neck to get her closer to him. Youngmin broke the kiss for a moment “I love you” he whispered and continued kissing her again. Their hearts were beating so fast, until Gyuwon broke the kiss.

-      We need to come back to class. –She said catching her breath.

-      But noona… I want to stay here with you… -Youngmin said resting his head on his shoulder and whispering on her neck which made Gyuwon shivered and blushed.

-      No, we need to come back. –She said pushing him away from her.

-      Arasso. –He said smiling widely and held her hand.

They came back to their class. Of course, they didn’t come in the classroom at the same time, because they didn’t want the teacher to suspect something.

“I can’t believe this is happening”  Youngmin thought pinching his cheek. “Nope, this is really happening. I had my first kiss… with Gyuwon! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ok Youngmin stop giggling like an idiot, act COOL remember?” He thought smiling.

“I can’t believe what just happened… I must be crazy for falling in love with him. No! I must be insane for falling in love with him! But… he’s just too cute. I didn’t know that we met when we were kids. Why can’t I stop smiling! Oh yeah! Because I’m in love with Youngmin and I just kissed him” Gyuwon thought.
