Chapter 30: Get well soon.

They saw the doctors moving and panicking at Youngmin’s operating room. They could hear Youngmin’s heart rate lowering. Their eyes widened.

-      Hyung, what is happening? –Minwoo said shocked.

-      Youngmin! –Gyuwon screamed and tried to get in the operating room but Donghyun stopped her and hugged her tightly. She cried so hard.

Donghyun saw the doctor using the defibrillator to reanimate Youngmin. “Youngmin we need you. Please don’t die” Donghyun thought with his eyes filled of tears.

They heard Youngmin’s heart rate back to normality. Donghyun closed his eyes and sighed.

-      He’s fine Gyuwon. He’s fine. –Donghyun said her hair.

Gyuwon was still in shock, she couldn’t believe what was going on. They sat down on one of the chairs of the waiting room. Kwangmin joined to them with his eyes all swollen.

-      The doctor is operating hyung right now. He said that they are low possibilities the he survives, but that we have to keep hope. –Kwangmin said and saw his mom. –Umma, mianhe… if I had taken care of Youngmin well, this wouldn’t have happened. –He said with tears pouring from his eyes.

-      It’s not your fault. You’re a good dongsaeng. No one has the fault of this. –His mom said caressing his cheek.

They waited for four hours until the doctor came out of the operating room. They immediately stood up.

-      The operation was successful. But, he hasn’t still woken up from the anesthesia. He will be in ICU since he still needs to be monitored. We still have to make him some medical tests and examinations. He broken three ribs because of the impact he had with the glass. But fortunately the bullet didn’t touch any internal organ. He must be very weak because he lost too much blood, but you can see him tomorrow.

-      Thank you doctor. –Mrs. Jo said wiping her tears.

-      By the way, he had this on one of his molars. –The doctor said showing the micro chip that Kwangmin had put oh Youngmin’s molar.

-      Oh… yes. –Donghyun said taking it.

-      Might I ask what it is? –The doctor said.

-      It’s a micro chip we put on him in case he was in danger we could know his location.

-      Oh… I see… -The doctor said.

It was already evening. They slept there all the night, waiting for Youngmin to wake up.

The next morning, Mrs. Jo and Kwangmin entered to Youngmin’s hospital room. He was sleeping. Kwangmin held Youngmin’s hand. He was all covered with bandages.

-      Hyung, I’m so sorry. –Kwangmin said crying. –You’re very strong and brave. I love you hyung, please be strong as you have been now.

Mrs. Jo kissed his son’s forehead.

-      It’s hard for me to see you like this, especially when you don’t deserve this. You’re a good boy, a good son and a good brother. But I know that you are very strong and that you will get better soon. –His mom said caressing his cheek trying to hold her tears.

Youngmin slowly opened his eyes and saw his mom and Kwangmin standing next to him.

-      Umma, Kwangmin… -He said quietly.

-      Hyung! –Kwangmin said smiling.

-      How are you my little baby? –his mom said.

-      I’m fine. –Youngmin said smiling slightly even when the pain on his back and shoulder was killing him. He didn’t want to worry her. –Where’s Gyuwon? Is she fine? –he asked.

-      She’s in the waiting room. Do you want her to come in? –Kwangmin said. Youngmin nodded and they exited the room.

Gyuwon slowly opened the door and saw Youngmin. She felt pain in her heart when she saw him in that condition, but she tried to smile at him.

-      Youngmin-ah. –She said smiling.

-      Wonguie. – Youngmin said smiling. Gyuwon walked next to him but she couldn’t hold on her tears anymore and started crying.

-      Youngmin… -Gyuwon said hugging him.

-      Why are you crying baby? –He said her hair and looked her in the eyes.

-      Because all of this is my fault. If I had lost you, I don’t know what I’d have done. You’re everything for me. –she said sobbing.

-      Shhh… I’m here. I won’t go. I would never leave you. –he said hugging her. Gyuwon hugged him back tightly and Youngmin coughed a little because of the pain.

-      Mianhe. –Gyuwon said breaking her grasp and looking down.

-      It’s fine. –Youngmin said holding the pain and smiling. –Sit down here. –he said patting the bed showing a free space since his body is too skinny.

-      Does it hurt so much? –Gyuwon asked holding his hand.

-      No, when you’re by my side. –he said entwining their fingers. –Oh! What happened to you here? –he said pointing at a cut she had on her arm.

-      Uh… this? It’s just a cut I made with one of the broken glasses.  –Gyuwon said.

-      You need to put some medicine on. –Youngmin said. –Did you get hurt somewhere else? –Youngmin said looking at her from head to toe.

-      Youngmin, you almost die. And you’re asking me if I got hurt? –Gyuwon said raising a brow.

-      It’s just that I can’t stand the idea of you getting hurt. I’d prefer to die than someone hurt you.

-      Don’t say that please. –Gyuwon sighed.

-      But it’s true.

-      It’s just that I don’t want you to get hurt because of me. You don’t have idea of how I felt when I saw you all bleeding and then waiting for hours without knowing if you were going to survive. I was so afraid of losing you. –Gyuwon said looking down trying to hide her feelings.

-      The physical pain I’m feeling right now doesn’t even compare to the pain I felt in my heart when you left me for Jeongmin. Can’t you understand you’re my reason for living? I was also so afraid of losing you when C.A.P. called me. I love you Gyuwon, with all my heart, the only thing I’m asking to you is that you stay by my side, that’s all.

-      I’ll always be by your side, because I love you, my little prince.

 Gyuwon caressed his cheek and Youngmin’s heart started beating faster. Gyuwon noticed about it because of the electrocardiogram. She chuckled a little.

Youngmin took her hand and placed it on his chest. She could feel his heart beating so fast. He put his arm around her waist pulling her close to him. He smiled sweetly at her and mouthed “I love you” making Gyuwon gulped. Then he kissed her sweetly.

They heard someone knocked the door and Gyuwon immediately moved aside Youngmin. Youngmin laughed a little of her quick reaction.

Donghyun slowly opened the door and stuck his head.

-      Hi… may I come in? –he said. Youngmin nodded slightly. –How are you? –He asked walking in the room with Minwoo behind him. Minwoo was holding a “Get well soon” helium balloon and teddy bear.

-      Better. –Youngmin said smiling staring at Gyuwon

-      What’s that? –Gyuwon asked curiously.

-      It’s for hyung! –Minwoo said tying the balloon to the teddy bear and putting it on the nightstand beside Youngmin’s bed.

-      Thank you guys. –He said looking at their gifts. – By the way, I have to thank you a lot. If you and Kwangmin hadn’t arrived I’d be probably death now.

-      You don’t have to thank us. That’s what friends do. –Donghyun said.

-      But, what I still don’t understand is… how did you find me? –Youngmin said confused.

-      Because we told Kwangmin to put this micro chip on your teeth. –Donghyun said showing the micro chip.

-      Oh! –Youngmin exclaimed. –So, did you already know about C.A.P?

-      Yes, but we didn’t tell you because we didn’t want to worry you. –He said sorry.

-      It’s ok. I understand you. –Youngmin said.

They continued chatting about different things. But Youngmin started feeling tired and his ribs hurt because he had laughed a lot. Even then, he was happy making jokes with his friends.

-      Guys, I think is time you leave. Tomorrow you have school and Youngmin needs some rest. –Gyuwon said looking at the tired but happy Youngmin.

-      Neh, Gyuwon umma. –They said teasing her. “Aishh this kids..” she thought.

-      Take rest Youngmin and eat well, arasso? –Donghyun said.

-      Neh, hyung. Thanks for everything. –Youngmin said smiling.

-      Hyung, get well soon. We’ll miss you at school. –Minwoo said pouting. –Fighting! –he then said cheering him.

-      Take care, Minwoo. –Youngmin said ruffling his hair.

-      Annyeong! –They both said waving their hands.

They left and Gyuwon stayed with Youngmin. She also was tired but she didn’t want to leave from his side.

-      You look tired, why don’t you go home for a while? It’s already late. Kwangmin can stay with me. –Youngmin said worried looking at her eyelids.

-      It’s fine. I want to stay here. –She said smiling. –You also look tired. Why don’t you sleep a little? The doctor said you need to rest, so you can get well soon.

-      Ok, then I’ll sleep a lot. –He said yawning.

Gyuwon smiled at him and he slowly closed his eyes and fell asleep. Gyuwon sat on a chair next to him “Sleep well, my little prince. Please be strong and get well soon” and then she also fell asleep.
