Chapter 22: Do you love him?

Gyuwon opened her locker and saw a letter. It was from Youngmin.

Hi, I know maybe you’re asking yourself why I wrote this letter. It’s just that I can’t still understand what is going on. This morning, when I woke up, I just felt that nothing happened and that I was going to be with you like every day.

But, the worst about it, was realizing that this was real. There’s something I still don’t get about this and I need to know, because I can’t get these questions out of my head: Do you love me? Do you love him?

First, I thought you really loved me, because when you broke up with me you said that it was because I lied to you and I could understand it and I thought, “if I showed her that I did it because I love her, she would probably forgive me because she loves me too, right?”

But yesterday, you said you and Jeongmin were going out and my heart broke into a thousand pieces. I couldn’t understand how you and Jeongmin fell in love. Then I thought, why didn’t she tell me the truth? Why didn’t she tell me that she was breaking up with me because she fell in love with Jeongmin?

You know, I went yesterday to the beach, and I remembered when I confessed to you. I asked you if you loved me and you said yes. Were you being honest with me or you just said yes because you felt pity for me?

Even then, I want to tell you that I really love you Gyuwon and no matter what I do I will still love you, because I can’t love anyone else but you. So, I wanted to tell you that I will fight for you no matter what, I will wait for you, I will be always there for you when you feel down… and if you really love Jeongmin and he hurts you, I’ll kill him, because no one has the right to make you feel hurt.

Tears started rolling through Gyuwon’s face, she knew she was hurting Youngmin and she hated it, but she also knew she couldn’t avoid this. Youngmin’s life was in her hands, and she couldn’t let her to be weak.

“I love you Youngmin, but we can’t be together right now. I’m sorry” she thought and kept the letter in her pocket.

Kwangmin and Ahjin went to the park after school.

-      I missed this so much. –Ahjin said smiling.

-      What did you miss? –Kwangmin said confused.

-      Being with you without all those fan girls surrounding you.

-      Yes, I feel free now. –He said chuckling.

-      Wow! Oppa look that! –She said excited pointing at a hot air balloon.

-      Wow! Would you like to fly on a hot air balloon? –He said looking at the sky.

-      I don’t know. I’m afraid of heights. –She said pouting.

-      C’mon! Let’s go for an ice cream. –Kwangmin said and grabbed her hand.

They bought two ice creams and sat on a park bench.

-      Oppa, I’m worried about Youngmin Oppa, do you think he’s fine right now? –Ahjin said with a sad face.

-      I don’t know Ahjin. Hyung has always been so strong, and he normally hides his feeling. I saw him smiling this morning, but I know deep inside he’s very sad. –Kwangmin sighed.

-      Yeah, you’re right. We should do something for making him feel better.

-      Yeah, I guess. But don’t worry he’s strong enough, he will be fine. –Kwangmin said smiling.

“Why is it happening again? Why is my heart beating so fast? Maybe it was because I was running a while ago” Ahjin thought.

-      Oppa let’s go. I have to go home early. –Ahjin said nervous and stood up.

-      Ok, let’s go. –Kwangmin said.

Ahjin was so nervous that she didn’t see a bottle on the floor and tripped over it. Kwangmin held her waist, so she didn’t fall, but their faces were so close.

“OMG! Our faces are inches away. My heart is beating so fast, but the worst about it is that I can’t even move, my body doesn’t respond”

-      Kwangmin, you can let me go, thank you. –Ahjin said still nervous.

-      Uh… I’m sorry… -Kwangmin said blushed.

-      Hey! Why is your face red like a tomato?

-      What! My face isn’t red, yours is red. –He said pointing her nose.

-      That’s not true. –She said upset.

-      Let’s just go home. –Kwangmin said walking away.

-      Hey! Wait for me! –Ahjin said running behind him.

They were walking back home when they saw six guys walking on their direction that were similar for them.

“No way” Kwangmin thought.

-      Oppa, are you seeing what I see? –Ahjin said shocked.

-      Yes, what are they doing here? They should be in jail. –Kwangmin said frozen. – C’mon, let’s hide before they see us. –Kwangmin said and grabbed Ahjin’s wraist.

They ran into an alley and hide until Teen Top walked away.

-      We’re very lucky that they didn’t see us. They used to do bullying to us all the time. –Ahjin said relief.

-      Yes, but I’m worried about something… -Kwangmin said quietly.

-      About what? –Ahjin said confused.

-      Nothing. –Kwangmin said smiling and held her hand.

“I hope they don’t want to take revenge against Youngmin. Maybe they found out that Youngmin was the one that testified about Woomin’s death” Kwangmin thought worried.

“Why is he holding my hand? This is so awkward. I mean we have always been best friends, but why do I feel so different now?” Ahjin thought blushed.

Kwangmin turned to Ahjin and saw she was blushing. “Aigoo! She’s blushing. She’s so cute when she does that. Wait, I haven’t realized that I was holding her hand. Aigoo! Now I’m the one who is blushing. Eotteokke!”

They arrived to Ahjin’s house without saying a word.

-      Annyeong Ahjin-a! See you tomorrow. –Kwangmin said waving his hand.

-      Annyeong! Take care Oppa.–She said smiling.

Ahjin got in her house and closed the door. Kwangmin started jumping and giggling of happiness. Ahjin was watching him from the window laughing.

-      Oppa! What are you doing? –She shouted laughing.

-      Uhh… nothing… -Kwangmin said embarrassed and left.

Babo! Babo! Babo! Babo! – he said face palming.
