The new student
Believe in FateThe crispy clean air in the morning, a girl in a dance room. She watched her reflection in the mirror, taking time to notice her small movements. The door behind her slowly slid open, showing another girl who waved to her.
“Unnie, good morning.” She said.
She turned around and then smiled at her, before walking over to her.
“Minjung, why are you up so early?” She asked.
“Unnie, I couldn’t wait for school. I’m starting my first year with you.” Minjung chuckled.
“Minjung, school isn’t open for another hour. Shouldn’t you be practicing?” She said.
“Unnie, I…”
“Soojung, didn’t I say to sleep in. School is tomorrow, you can sleep in for school and practice at night.” She said.
They both turned around and saw their mom coming their way, they greeted her.
“Soojung, go and get changed. Minjung, go and have breakfast in the dining room.” She said.
“Yes.” They replied.
“Now go on.” She said.
Minjung walked behind her mother, Soojung watched as they turned the corner. She looked back at her reflection in the mirror.
“Last year in highschool, great things will surely come.” Soojung said.
Soojung grabbed her bag, Minjung stood by the front door waiting for her.
“Unnie hurry up, we’re going to be late.” Minjung said.
“We still have like 30 minutes, it only takes 10 minutes by car.” Soojung said.
“I’ll be in the car, hurry.” Minjung said.
Soojung sat down and put her shoes on, she stood up and fixed her uniform. She saw her father standing behind her, he held her lunchbox in his hand.
“Almost forgot your lunch bag.” He said.
“Appa, I didn’t forget it.” Soojung smiled.
Soojung held up her bag and opened it, there was her lunch box in her bag.
“Then whose am I holding here.” He asked.
“That belongs to Minjung, I’ll give it to her.” Soojung chuckled.
“Remember to return right away from school, unless you have dance club lessons this week.” He said.
“Appa, dance club doesn’t start until next week.” Soojung said.
“Please tell Minjung, “Have a nice day at school.”” He said.
“Alright, then. I’ll be home early, I’ll start practicing with Seojun.” Soojung said.
“Alright, have a nice day.” He said.
“Bye appa.” Soojung said.
Soojung bowed to her dad, she took the lunch bag from her dad. She walked out the front doors and into the car, sitting right next to Minjung. She placed the lunch bag on her sister’s lap, who looked down and smiled.
“This is what I was forgetting.” Minjung chuckled.
“Was almost about to starve today.” Soojung said.
“Unnie, you’re the best.” Minjung said.
Soojung placed her hand over as she yawned, then rubbing her eyes.
“I’m so sleepy, I should of slept in.” Soojung said.
