Once in a Lifetime

Josy and Angela sat on campus at their university in America, drinking coffee. It was a few days before their senior year was to start, and both were not excited.

They had been back in America for a while, and things just didn’t feel the same like they used to. Both of the girls missed their time in Korea, and more importantly they missed being able to see their boyfriends.

“Have you decided what you want to do once we graduate?” Josy asked

“I don’t know. Teach or something maybe? I have no idea what to do with my life. So basically nothing is changed,” Angela laughed. She took a sip of coffee and her shoulders fell dejectedly. “I miss Xiumin’s stupid face.”

Josy laughed. “I miss The Noodle.”

“Ew, I did not need to know that, Josy.”

“Okay no. Not that noodle. That’s his nickname, dummy.”

The two girls sighed. Talking about it just made everything worse. Keeping in contact was sometimes hard, but they were all trying. At first the separation was difficult for all of them, but now it was just a matter of keeping up with time differences. It was hard, but it was worth it. They often video chatted, and they all made sure to make time for each other. The adjustment was strange. It was strange to not see each other, but they were always Skyping.

“What if it doesn’t work out?” Angela asked. “I mean, I know we’re all trying, but . . . long distance is basically impossible.”

“Things will work out. If it’s going to be then it’s going to be. We just have to keep trying. We can’t give up, especially if this is what we all really want.”

“I don’t know . . . they’re just getting busier and busier. Me and Xiumin are trying, but I’m worried. It was already hard enough when we were living in the same city. I’m happy that we’re trying, but I can’t help but get scared too.”

“Don’t worry too much. Xiumin loves you. He went through so much just to get you back.”

“I know. I know. I should listen to you.”

Despite what she was saying, Josy also couldn’t help but worry as well. She knew how difficult long distance relationships could be, but she was trying to be positive about the whole situation.

Because EXO was so popular, there were always a ton of rumors about the boys, but Angela and Josy just had to learn not to pay attention to that kind of thing and trust the guys.

Just as things were starting to get quiet, Josy’s phone started ringing. The caller ID showed none other than Byun Baekhyun.

“Um, hello?” Josy answered, not sure why Baekhyun was calling her.

“Hey!” Baekhyun shouted from the other end. “What are you guys doing?”
