Goodbye Zhen Pt.3
Behind the Mask [Bangtan]Jungkook hadn’t been lying. He and Zhen had gone straight to her room and fallen asleep. It had been the most peaceful, quiet sleep Zhen had ever had. No nightmares, no pain, just sleep.
She woke up in his arms, and the fluttering in her stomach was inexplainable.
He was still asleep, which she knew because his breath, which was still stirring her hair, was too level and easy for him to be awake. She turned in his arms to face him.
It had only been the second time they’d shared a bed and, even though nothing had happened, it was times like this when she knew she loved him. When he was so completely at peace…
But his eyes opened, and he offered a sleepy, half forced smile. “Hello,” He said lightly, squeezing his arms around her. Zhen immediately smiled. “Are you still tired?” She shook her head. “Are you hungry?” She shook her head. “Then what are you?”
She sighed, laying her head against his chest. “Content.” She said lightly. “I’m content.”
He nodded his head, and held her against him. They lay like this for a while, all the while Zhen continued to question her decision, like she had every moment after she’d made it. After a while, maybe an hour, Jungkook sat up. “I think we should probably get ready.” He said, stretching his arms over his head. “I don’t want us to be late.”
Zhen nodded. “Do you need to go back to the dorm?”
“Nope, I brought my clothes here this morning.” He said, smiling. At this moment, Zhen detached herself from him and began to move off the bed, but he grabbed her by her waist and pulled her back to him. He kissed the top of her head. “I’m really going to miss this.” He whispered, before letting her go.
Zhen was too stunned to move, but he’d already moved off the bed and walked out of the room, closing the door behind him. An undeniable emptiness fell in her stomach, and she could feel a knot rising in , making it hard to breathe. She swallowed, fought back her tears, and moved towards her closet.
Zhen and Jungkook sat in the small waiting area of the restaurant he had reserved a table at. He’d changed into a pair of fitted dress pants, a white button up shirt, which wasn’t all the way buttoned up, and black leather shoes. He hadn’t done anything special with his hair, but still it looked perfect to Zhen.
Clearly he’d noticed her looking him over, because he smiled and leaned towards her. “You look great,” He said, kissing her cheek. She bit the inside of her lip and nodded a sort of thanks. She’d decided to wear a black dress with long sleeves, which she wore her black fingerless gloves with, along with a pair of black sheer tights and black pumps. She had curled her hair, but she felt that it was just a very basic outfit. He seemed to think otherwise.
“Table for Jeon Jungkook?” He moved to his feet, taking her hand in his, and started towards the waiter who had called his name. Zhen followed behind him quietly.
They were seated, and each was given a menu. Jungkook thanked the waiter, who moved away shortly after, and looked to Zhen. “See anything interesting?” He asked, smiling.
Zhen shrugged. “I’ll just take whatever you’re having.” She said lightly, closing her menu and placing her hands in her lap.
Jungkook frowned. “Zhen Ai,” H
