Contracts and Kindness
Behind the Mask [Bangtan]Mallory parked outside of a building that shot hundreds of feet into the sky. Rap Monster looked up in awe as the two climbed out of the car, and Mallory hurried towards the building. It was still raining, so Rap Monster followed, preferring to stay dry to being soaked.
The man behind the front desk perked up. “May I ask who you’re here to see? I must notify them before you go upstairs.” He asked.
Mallory nodded. “Woo Jun Hyun. He knows we’re coming, but I’ll wait.” She said, continuing towards the elevators. She stopped as the man grabbed the phone and dialed a few buttons. Jun Hyun answered quickly, and the man told him he had visitors. The man waved them on, so Mallory pressed the up button for the elevator and waited.
When the doors opened, she and Rap Monster stepped into the elevator. She pressed the button for the top floor, the penthouse, and then pressed the “close door” button and stood back as the elevator shot up.
The doors opened to a small room double doors that had two, floor to ceiling aquariums filled with colorful fish and plants. This cast a blue glow over the room they were standing in. The double doors were dark wood and had glass centers, that were frosted over with swirling patterns. Mallory strode forward and pressed the small doorbell that was directly beside the door and tank.
A dark figure moved on the other side of the glass and opened the door. Jun Hyun stood on the other side. “Mallory! So nice of you to stop by,” He said, looking past her.
“Jun Hyun, this is Kim Namjoon. He’s the leader of the band Zhen’s boyfriend is in.” Mallory said, pointing to Rap Monster.
Rap Monster’s nose curled. “Boyfriend?”
Mallory waved this off. “Contract?”
Jun Hyun smiled. “Yes, of course, come in and I’ll get it for you.” He said, turning and moving into the house. Mallory and Rap Monster followed. Both stopped in the front of the house and bent to take off their shoes. “Stop! It’s fine, we have a maid, you don’t have to take off your shoes.” He said, shaking his head and pointed to his Italian leather shoes. “Please, don’t worry about it.”
Mallory followed him while Rap Monster took a look around. The living room was large, with dark wood and gray fabric couches. A white fur rug was in the center of the room with a glass and steel coffee table. The entire back was would have been glass, but the glass was folded in on itself, like an accordion, leading to the back porch. Standing outside was an orangish blonde haired boy.
He was very thin, and rather tall. He had very light skin, almost the color of porcelain, and his ears were pierced multiple times. He had thin lips and white teeth, which were moving a mile a minute as he hurriedly spoke to someone on the phone, watching Rap Monster with one eyebrow raised. His orange blonde hair was straight and long, and he’d had it styled to look messy. He wore a pair of jeans that hung loosely from his legs and fell past his feet. He’d paired this with a dark blue collared shirt and a gray and white striped cardigan. He hung up the phone and smirked. “Hello,” He said politely.
Rap Monster immediately bowed. “Hello, I’m sorry I didn’t mean to stare. But you’re-”
“Na Ha-Neul,” He said, smiling and walking towards Rap Monster. He stretched out his hand. “Nice to meet you. Are you a fan?”
Rap Monster took his hand and shook it. “You did a shoot for my band last week. I just didn’t think I’d run into you again, and so casually.”
Na Ha-Neul laughed, retracting his hand and brushing his bangs away from his eyes. “I see. You’re the tall one, from BTS, right?” Rap Monster raised an eyebrow, but nodded. “Rap Monster! Yes, the one who dances funny.”
“That’d be him.” Mallory said, joining them in the living room with Jun Hyun directly behind her.
Ha-Neul turned to Mallory. “And Mallory LeBlanc. Nice to meet you before work.” He said, reaching to take her hand.
She smiled, but tilted her head questioningly. “Designer?”
“Photographer,” Jun Hyun answered. “Ha-Neul here is an incredibly renowned photographer in China. He recently moved here to work with a number of labels, but his basis is the Woo International Modeling Agency.” Jun Hyun walked to Ha-Neul’s side and dropped a hand on his shoulder.
Ha-Neul reached to touch Jun Hyun’s hand. “Flattery will get you nowhere with me, Jun Hyun,” He said, turning back to Mallory and Rap Monster. “Are you staying for brunch?”
“It’s two thirty, Ha-Neul.” Jun Hyun murmured.
Ha-Neul frowned. “Coffee then?”
“No thank you,” Mallory said, turning to Rap Monster. “We need to get headed home before the band misses him, and I need to get my dog fro
