Taeyeon sits on the couch alone, her eyes closed, her head leaning back on the top of the backrest. It is one of those nights again when memories hit her like a surge of current. No, maybe it’s not just memories. Maybe, it’s also the feelings that she has been trying so hard to keep inside. No, it’s not just maybe. She knows it. She knows it so well. She feels the familiar sourness at the back of her nose and she bites hard on her teeth to stop any incoming tears. Nothing’s changed.

Slowly, Taeyeon opens her eyes. She sees nothing but the ceiling. It’s as empty as her heart. She blinks a couple of times and then she realises that there is no way she would ever be able to stop those tears. Her vision gets blurry once again. Her lips shaking, she closes those eyes as the tears silently fell from the corners of her eyes. It’s the same tonight. It’s as unbearable tonight. Nothing’s changed.

Taeyeon has lost count of the number of nights she has sat at the exact same place, feeling the exact same emotions, crying the exact same tears, holding the exact same regret. She doesn’t know how many nights more will this happen. She doesn’t even know if this will ever stop. She swallows her saliva, and then she reaches out to her earphones beside her that is connected to her phone. Soullessly, she puts the earphones into her ears, like she does every single night.
