*The D-Day*

The gang was just hanging around the school compound after lunch, waiting for the next lesson to start.

“I’ll pick you up tonight at 7pm, is that okay?” he suddenly asked the girl next to him.

“Ermm, alright.” She replied while looking back at him with a smile.

“WHERE ARE YOU GUYS GOING TONIGHT?! HOW COME WE’RE NOT INFORMED OR INVITED?!” A loud voice startled all of them and everyone looked at the girl.

“Lower down your volume, Fany. You’re gonna make us deaf with that voice of yours!”

“Ooops. Sorry” she said while looking around  bowing to those nearby.

“Well, I was shocked to hear what Taeng said. Where are you guys going?”

“Yeah Taeng. We always hang out together! How could you ditch us like that!” Soo said while having food in his mouth.

“Swalllow your food first, shikshin. It’s gross man”

“It’s really non-of your business. It’s between me and Jessica”

“Aww, cmon! We’re buddies! We don’t hide things from each other..”

“Oppa, how come you didn’t tell me about your date? You always tell me everything!” Seohyun pouted while looking at her brother.

Guilt engulfed him as he looked as his pouting sister. ‘Aish, what should I do?’ He looked at his friends to get help but they ignored him.

“I’m sorry Seohyun-ah. It totally slipped my mind. I wanted to tell you the other day but you were studying and I didn’t want to disturb you. After that, I totally forgot to inform you. I’m really sorry.. You know I didn’t mean to hide it from you..”

“If you say so oppa.”

“Seohyun-ah, don’t be like this. It honestly slipped my mind!!”

“She agreed to do anything just as long I forgive her. So I asked her out and she agreed. That’s all. No need to get all dramatic”

As they were chatting away, someone approached them and the item in their hand caught their attention.

“Hi Taeyeon. This is for you. I hope you’ll do well for the game. I believe you’ll do well. Anyway, I hope you like the gift. Bye!” she said to him in a flirty manner and gave him a smile before walking away.

Unknown to them, someone was glaring at their interaction and was pissed at the girl. The way the girl flirted with him was making her blood boil and she couldn’t stand it at all.

‘Urgh. Who is she and why is she flirting with him?! Acting all sweet and stuff to him?! & what game is she talking about??’

“Who was that? & what game is she talking about?” she asked.

“Oh, we’re having a big match next week.”

“Oh. Then who is the girl?”

“She must be one of Taeyeon’s fan. I’m sure his locker is filled with letters by now. He even has a fanclub in the school. That’s how popular he is with the girls in the school.” Soo said not noticing the glare on the girl’s face.

Jessica nodded her head at the explanation. She took in the information and felt the urge to give Taeyeon something. ‘Hmm, what should I give him? I bet he’s gonna get a lot of gift from those girls and even more special treatment if he doeswell for the match.. I need to do something that will outdo the other girls so that he only has eyes for me!’

“Ring”

“Let’s get going guys or we’ll be late. By the way, Yoong, could you send my sister home? I’ve got things to settle.”

“Hehe. Sure! Anything for her, man.”

“Whatever dude.”

The group made their way to their respective class. Taeyeon noticed the change in Jessica. She suddenly became really quiet.

“Hey, are you okay?” He asked while nudging her.

“Yeah, I’m fine.”

“You sure? You’re awfully quiet after lunch. Are you sure you’re fine? I can send you home if you’re not.” he asked worriedly. He then placed his hand on her forehead to check her temperature.

“I told you I’m fine. You don’t have to get so worked up. Anyway, how come you didn’t say anything about the upcoming match?”

“It’s just a match. No big deal. There wasn’t a need to talk about since everyone already knew about it, except for you.”

“Okay. What movie are we watching tonight?”

“Do you have any movie in mind? If you do, we’ll go ahead with it.”

“Nope. It's your call. Besides, you’re the one who asked me out, remember?”

“I know that. Was just trying to be a gentleman..”

“Yeah right..”

The lesson went on as usual. Taeyeon and Jessica were talking as usual or maybe flirting, in the eyes of Tiffany who was watching their interactions all along.

“Quit staring at them babe. What’s so fascinating about them?”

“Aish. I’m just excited to see them together. They look really good together and I always feel bad for Taeng.”

“Why would you feel bad for him?”

“How could you say that Yul! He’s your best friend and he’s been alone for a long time. He’s a great guy and it must be hard for him when he sees us all paired up. Even Seohyun is in a relationship with Yoong. I’m sure he’s actually hiding his true feelings all this while..”

“You’re right Fany.. I feel bad messing around with him but I figured it’ll help him forget it. It must’ve been a torture for him to be around us.. I do hope he’ll find someone and I actually hope it’s your cousin over there..”

“Yeah..”

“Could you take Jessica away later? I kind of need to talk with Taeng..”

“What’d you wanna talk about?”

“Just some stuffs. It’s been a while since we had a serious talk..” he said while grinning at his girlfriend.

“Alright.. I’ll try.”

They continued to watch the couple from behind while trying their best to pay attention to the lesson. Class has ended and Yul rushed to Taeng’s table before he leaves with Jessica.

“Sorry to disturb your moment but I need to borrow Taeng, if you don’t mind..”

“What’d you want Yul?”

“Aish, can’t a guy spend some time with his best friend?”

“Yeaaa right.. Something smells fishy Yul”

“I just wanna talk to you.”

“Fine.”

“I’ll see you later tonight, okay?”

“Yeah, sure.”

After the duo walked off, Tiffany walked up to her cousin with her stuff.

“Guess I’ll be riding home with you! We’ve got a lot to catch up on Jessie!”

“Fany, I’ve told you not to squeal! You’re seriously gonna make me deaf!”

They walked out and made their way to the parking lot where the others were. The gang were chattering among themselves and were joking around.

“Where’s Taeng and Yul?” Hyo asked

“Yul needed to talk to Taeng about something so they won’t be joining us.” Sica replied.

“What are you guys doing tonight? We know for sure Miss Jessica over here is going on a date with someone..”

“Shut up Tiff!” Jessica replied and hit Tiffany’s arm with her reddening face.

“Wow. You’re really red Jessica!” Woori said with amusement.

“Back to your question Fany, we don’t have any plans.” Sunny answered.

“Well, than I guess it’s a stay home Friday for all of us.” Tiffany said.

“Sorry guys but I kind of have to rush now. I’ve got some things to do.. Tiff, you coming along?”

“Yeah. Gotta go guys! Bye!”

They hugged each other and left the group.

“What’s the rush Jessie?”

“I have yet to decide what to wear..”

“Ouh.. C’mon than. I’ll help you choose your dress for tonight.”

“Thanks Tiff.”

*On the other hand, with the duo boys*

The duo was sitting at the corner of their favourite café while having a drink.

“What’d you wanna talk about Yul? It sounded important..”

“I just wanna know how you’re doing. I mean with Jessica..”

“What’d you mean?”

“You guys seems to be getting along fine.. What do you think of her?”

“She’s great Yul. She’s beautiful, unique and lovable.”

“I see. I was quite shock that you asked her out after only knowing her. That’s a bold move, don’t you think?”

“I know right? It just felt right to ask her out. Besides, she wanted my forgiveness and said that she’ll do anything so I just grabbed the opportunity. Do you think it’s too fast?”

“Nahh. You’re just going out on casual date, right? You’re not gonna confess or something right?”

“Of course not. I don’t wanna scare her away. There’s more about her that I’ve yet to know.”

“That’s good. You really like her, don’t you?”

“Yeah. It’s unbelievable but the first time I saw her, I was just so amazed. I mean how can such person exist?! & that night I spent with her, was great. She’s unlike any other girl, Yul.”

“It’s nice to know that you’ve found someone Taeng. I seriously feel bad each time you have to join us and you feel left out. I hope things work out for the two of you..”

“We’ll see Yul. I don’t wanna rush thing and screw up.”

“Yeah. That’s true. Anyway, what show are you guys watching? & what else do you have planned? Need any help?”

“Honestly, I still don’t know what show to watch. I don’t have anything special planned out. It’s just a normal casual date.”

“Hmmm.”

“If we watch horror, I don’t want her to think I’m taking advantage. If we watch romance, I don’t want her to have the impression that I’m emotional and extremely romantic. If we watch cartoon, I don’t want her to think that I see her as childish or whatsoever.”

“Dude, you think too much! I agree about the horror movie but not so much on the others. I mean, we don’t know if she’s a romantic person but I’m sure she wouldn’t think much about watching cartoon. Besides, cartoons are cute! For all you know, she might love it!”

“What about John Carter? Or 21 Jump Street? Or The Hunger Games? Or The Avengers?”

“Relax! Honestly, all the movies sound great. Just choose. Or you can just ask her later on?”

“No! She told me to decide since I asked her out..”

“Just trust your instinct.”

“Alright. Should I get her anything? Flowers or chocolate?”

“NO! Just be on time and look good. Do not over dress either.”

“Alright. I better go now. I need to buy the tickets now.”

“Want me to accompany you?”

“Don’t you have plans with Tiffany?”

“Doubt so. I bet she’s helping Jessica too right now..”

“If that’s the case, okay than.”

*With the two American girls*

“What do you think of him Jessi?”

“What do I think of Taeyeon?”

“Duhh.”

“He’s cute, nice, kind and not to forget extremely good looking. He’s just so mesmerizing. There’s more about him that I’ve yet to know and I seriously wanna know all about him.”

“Were you jealous when the girl gave him a present in a flirty way..?”

“Actually, yeah. I was quite annoyed and that wasn’t the first time. I had witnessed worse and it especially angered me because he just asked me out and immediately went to another girl!”

“Wow. Can’t believe Taeng did that. Hahah.”

“What’s so funny? It’s like he’s a player!”

“No he’s not. Taeng isn’t that kind of guy, trust me. Right now, he’s eyes is only on you! You’ve got his full attention already!”

“Really?”

“Yes, but just be careful about his fans. I mean it! They’re crazy over him.”

“Why?”

“He’s not just a footballer. He’s a born talented singer! You have never heard him sing but believe me, you’ll melt. He melted all of us girls!”

“I wonder when I’ll ever hear him sing…”

“You can just request from him. I’m sure he’s more than willing to sing for you..”

“Tiff, what do Taeyeon like? I wanna get him something for his game but I’m not sure what..”

“Threatened by the girl?”

“A lil”

“I think it’s enough if you’re there to cheer on him.”

He stood before the mirror and kept switching the outfits in his hands. He was getting frustrated with himself for not being able to decide on one.

‘Argh! Which one should I choose?’

Feeling unsatisfied, he walked in to his closet and took out 5 more different outfits and laid it on his bed. Unknown to him, a pair was watching his every frantic movement. A chuckle caught his attention and he turned around and he’s eyes widened to see his mother and sister laughing at him.

“Yaaah! What are you laughing at?!” he sounded exasperated.

“Obviously we’re laughing at you, Taeyeon-ah.” His mom answered.

“Don’t just stand there and laugh at me! Help me pick an outfit please! I can’t decide!!” he wailed.

“Okay, okay. Don’t need to act like that Taeyeon. You’re acting like a kid when you’re not one and you have a younger sister..”

“Fine.. Just help me, please?”

“You must really like her don’t you? In the past, you never really bothered about dressing up Taeyeon..”

He just smiled back at her and shrugged his shoulder.

“Oppa is totally head over heels in love with her, omma”

“Well than, I’m looking forward to meet her Taeyeon-ah. She might just be my future daughter-in-law.”

“Omma! You’re overthinking. My gosh. If anything, ask Seohyun to get married first. She already has a boyfriend! Can we skip this conversation and could you guys just please help me select an outfit?”

And so the trio created a loud commotion in the room just to choose an outfit for the boy. Throughout the whole time, they kept teasing him about the girl and such. Mrs Kim was elated to see her only son finally going out on a date after so long. She secretly and earnestly prayed that this girl will bring him joy and happiness. Amidst the preparation, they failed to notice the presence of someone in the room. A pair of eyes watched their acts and couldn’t help but smiled at how happy the trio was and thought about how blessed he is to have such a loving and happy family.

“Ehem” he coughed to get the attention of the trio.

The trios stopped whatever they’re doing and all eyes were on him. They looked at the clock and back at him and wondered what he’s doing home at this hour.

“What’s going on here? Why are all of you in Taeyeon’s room and no one greeted me when I got home?” he asked with his brows raised.

“Appa, oppa is going out on a date and he needed help in choosing an outfit. Isn’t that cute?” The baby of the family said with a smile and ran to his side.

“Really? My dear son is going out on a date? That’s good. I thought you’d never find someone since your sister already has a boyfriend and you’re still single.” He chuckled.

“I was just waiting for the right one to come along dad. Besides, it’s just a casual date, no need to make a big fuss. I don’t even know how she feels.”

“Please oppa. You’re head over heels in love with her and I’m pretty sure unnie likes you as well.”

“Our Taeyeon is all grown up. You better not do anything with her Taeyeon-ah! No hanky panky!”

“OMMA!”

“Before you do anything, talk to me first okay son? I’ll teach you some tips!”

Everyone broke out into laughter except for him. His face turned red as tomato upon his dad word.

“Appa! Omma! Seohyun! Stop laughing. It’s not funny. & dad, I know my stuffs pretty well, no worries.” He winked.

“That’s my son.”

“So, where are you taking her Taeyeon?” his dad asked.

“I’m just gonna take her to dinner and movie. After that, maybe a walk somewhere. That’s all”

“Not bad for a first date. Where will you guys be dining at ?

“Not anywhere fancy, dad.” He answered while styling his hair.

“Alright, How do I look?” He turned and asked his family.

“You look dashing honey. She’s gonna fall for you. I’m sure of that!” his mom answered and kissed his forehead.

“You look good oppa. Don’t worry too much and just be yourself! Oh, and you are to share with me the details once you come back!” she answered and hugged him.

“What else can I say? You look great, son. You’re a KIM, she’s bound to fall for you. No one can resist the KIM’s charm..” He said and pat him on the back.

“Which car are you using, son?”

“My own? Why?”

“I thought you’d want to use another car. Mine, perhaps?”

“Nah, it’s okay dad. I’m fine with mine.”

“Alright guys. I better get going now. Bye!”

She did her final touch up and took a final look at herself before turning around to the person watching her at the door.

“How do I look?”

“You look great. Don’t worry too much Jessi. “She said lovingly.

“I’m just nervous. I don’t normally get sweaty palms or nervous, you know.”

“That show’s that you really like him although you’ve only met for like a week?” she chuckled.

“I know right. Haha. But hey, he’s really sweet. Did I mention that he kissed me already?” she said while smiling at the sweet memory.

“For real?! You’ve kissed already?!” the girl squealed at the brand new information.

“Wow, I thought you knew since you said you saw everything..”

“Well, I didn’t see the kiss!”

“It was not a big deal. He gave me a peck on the cheeks. More like he gave me a surprise peck.” She smiled.

“Damn, and you waited only now to tell me? I’m you cousin Jessi!” She whined.

Before she could continue making the girl feel bad, the doorbell rang indicating that the date is starting soon. Jessica looked at Tiffany and nodded her head. Tiffany got the signal and made her way down, leaving Jessica alone in the room. She took a final glance and clamed herself before making her way down.

“Hey Taeyeon!” Tiffany greeted at the door.

“Hey, Miyoung. Where’s Jessica?” he asked looking around the house.

“Geez, relax Tae. No how are you or whatsoever and you immediately asked for her.” she said with a pout.

“Sorry. I’m just feeling very nervous.”

“Tae, just promise me you’ll be yourself. Be the same guy that took Jessi away on the first night. I really want things to work out between the 2 of you, okay?” she looked at him hopefully.

“Alright. I’ll be that guy for her. I’ll be myself. Thank you Miyoung.”

“Yaah! Why are you calling me that?! No one’s supposed to call me that!”

“But it suits you since you nag a lot, just like a mum. Hehe”

Before they could continue with their verbal “assault” s new scent infiltrate the room and made him stopped. He looked up only to see the most beautiful brunette walking down the stairs with a smile on her face. He unconsciously smiled upon seeing her mouthed hi to her. Although she was just clad in simple denim jeans, white tee and a blazer, she still managed to mesmerize him. Tiffany sat there and just watched as Taeyeon gawked at Jessica and couldn’t help but to chuckle at the scene. He made his way to her and reached out for her hand and led her down.

“Thank you” she said to him.

“You’re mostly welcome.”

“Alright guys. Hate to break the romantic moment but if you don’t leave now, our dear Jessica will be staring to death and you’ll be late for movie. Taeyeon, you can gawk at her for the rest of the night, except when driving. Now, go, NOW! Be home before midnight!” She shouted while pushing the couple out.

*In the Car*

“Do you mind if I play some music?” he asked nervously

“Not at all”

The song played suited the moment and the feelings buried deep inside the two soul. Just like what the song says, they fell for a stranger. They fell the moment they met. The feelings may not yet be love, but it’s there. The feelings between both are mutual. Both their hearts were actually in sync and they just needed the confirmation and courage to express their true feelings.

The car came to a stop and broke Jessica’s trains of thoughts. She looked around and realized that they’ve reached the place.

“You seemed to be in a deep thought, care to share it with me?”

“Oh, nah, I was just in a daze.”

With that, he stepped out and made his way to the passenger seat and he opened the door and held out his hand for her.

“Thank you.”

They made their way to the sushi shop and had their dinner. It was filled with laughter and gossip. Taeyeon shared with her everything about the gang and all unforgettable incidents that happened within the gang. He also shared with her about each individual so that she knows them better. Once done, Taeyeon paid the bills and they made their way to the theatre.

“So, what movie are we watching?”

“ The Hunger Games. Any objection?”

“Oh My Gosh! I’ve been dying to see this movie even when it was released in the US! I didn’t get to watch back there. I’ve read the book and couldn’t wait to catch the movie! Thank you so much Taeyeon!” she clutched his arm and squealed.

‘Phew. That’s lucky. I would’ve panicked if she didn’t like the show.’

Without wasting any time, they made their way to the theatre and look out for their seat. Once seated, Taeyeon offered to get some drinks or snacks but Jessica just declined. With that, they spent the rest of the date watching The Hunger Games.

“How was the movie? Did you like it? Was it up to your expectation?” he asked

“The movie was great. I was disappointed with some scenes but overall, it was amazing! Thank you so much for bringing me to watch it!”

“No problem. Anyway, you wanna go home now?”

“Why? You wanna bring me elsewhere?”

“Well, if you want to go home, I would gladly send you home but if not, I was thinking of bringing you to a nearby park and we could walk around and enjoy the view. It’s a beautiful view..”

“Alright, let’s go to the park.”

They walked around the park together and chatted. Taeyeon led her up a hill where he promised a spectacular view. They made their way up and Jessica was blown away.

“Wow, this is beautiful. How’d you find this place?”

“Well, this is where I usually go to for peace and calm or when I want to be alone. Being surrounded with 4 pairs is very tiring and annoying. So, I needed to find a place for myself that’s when I came across this place on one of the night.”

“No one knows about your spot except for me?”

“Yeah.”

“Why did you tell me, now it won’t be special to you anymore..”

“It’s still special, in fact extra special.”

“Usually when night comes, I lie down here and just stare up the sky, counting the stars or watching it glow. If I’m lucky, I might just see a shooting star. Do you want to lie down, Sica?”

“Yeah, sure just be sure that I don’t get bite or whatsoever..”

Taeyeon took off his blazer and laid in on the ground for her so that she can lie down. As they lay on the ground and stared at the sky, they continued talking with hope to know more about each other. The night was perfect for both of them and it only made their hearts flutter and their intimacy and how close they’ve gotten.

“I think we should go now. If my hunch is right, Miyoung is waiting for you at home..”

“I’m pretty sure your hunch is right. Why do you call her Miyoung, anyway?”

“Cos it suits her. She act like a mum and that name sounds very motherly..”

He stood up and brushed his pants before holding out his hand for her. “Ready?”

She looked up and held her hand out for him and stood up. He picked up his blazer off the ground and brushed it off before placing it on her shoulder. He held her hand and led her down the hill. Jessica blushed at the skin ship and couldn’t help but smile and how warm his hands were. They finally reached the care and as usual, Taeyeon opened the door for her. He waited for her to get in and went over to his side. The engine roared and they were already on their way home. Once again, the music fitted the situation between the two. Taeyeon couldn’t help but to steal glances at the girl every once in a while.

‘Only the first date and my heart are pounding like mad. I didn’t even feel this way with the other guys I’ve dated. He’s a perfect gentleman; sweet, caring, cute and handsome. What more could a girl asks for? He’s really sweet with his sister and I bet he’s extremely loving to his mum. Kim Taeyeon, how can a guy like you actually exist? No wonder all the girls in school loves you…’ Jessica thought to herself as she stared outside the window, looking at the stars.

As he drove underneath the starry night, he couldn’t help but to recall the moments that he shared with her. Every moment was special to him and he likes the feelings that she gave him. He smiled at the memories and looked at her only to see her smiling to.

‘Such a beautiful smile. In just a few days, she’s turn me into a love fool. She gives out a vibe that I just can’t explain. Jessica Jung Sooyeon, I want to know more about you. I want to be the reason for your smile, I want to be the one that will come to your rescue and I want to be the one that you’ll turn to for comfort. I’ll make you mine, Jung Sooyeon.’ In silence, he vowed to himself and he was sure that he’ll make it happen.

She was still in a dazed when a knock on the window pane broke her trance of thought. Taeyeon was standing right before her and that’s when she realised that they’ve reached her house. He opened the door and held his hand out for her. He walked her to the doorstep and waited for her to unlock the door. Before she went in..

‘Thank you for the great movie and night watch. I really enjoyed it!”

“You’re welcome Sica. I’m glad that you really enjoyed it. Goodnight, I’ll see you around, okay?
