“Hey Luhan, how about you and I go roast some marshmallows?” Baekhyun asked Luhan while Chanyeol maneuvered himself beside Sehun.  Luhan must have been feeling pretty uncomfortable, so Baekhyun and Chanyeol decided to intervene. 

“What? Uh…sure.” said Luhan, still seeming a bit dazed and embarrassed. 

As Baekhyun and Luhan made their way towards the bonfire hand in hand, Chanyeol got a hold of Sehun and led him towards the coolers.  It was plain to see that Sehun was thinking up a plan to somehow get Luhan alone for the night, but Baekhyun wasn’t too fond of the idea and asked Chanyeol to help keep Sehun at a distance.  Baekhyun didn’t want Sehun to scare Luhan when he hasn’t even begun the school year yet. 

“, that kid Luhan’s pretty cute isn’t he…” said Sehun as he watched Luhan and Baekhyun grab a few marshmallows and get comfortable around the fire.  Chanyeol looked over and couldn’t help but smile at the two friends.

“He is, but I think you should back off a bit.”  said Chanyeol, while searching for a bottle opener.

“Back off a bit? Do you know who you’re talking to Chanyeol? This kid Luhan’s a beauty, there’s no way I’m backing off. He’s got that innocent look I’m into and I can’t even begin to imagine what he’s like in bed.” said Sehun as he took a seat on the sand and sipped his drink, carefully eyeing Luhan through the crowd.

“See? There you go again.  You jump right into thinking about how good someone will be in bed…that’s gonna get you in trouble Sehun.” Chanyeol cracked his beer open and tossed the cap somewhere on the sand. “Luhan’s a nice kid and Baek wants him to feel comfortable hanging out with us.” Chanyeol said casually, trying to ease the determined Sehun into a level headed conversation.

“So what are trying to say?” asked Sehun, completely disregarding the point Chanyeol is trying to make. 

Chanyeol sighed and stayed quite for while.  He knew it wouldn’t be easy getting Sehun to understand, since all he did in his free time was sleep around. 

“Just get to know Luhan a bit, and don’t try anything with him tonight.  Baek really wants him to get along with us and so do I, so please push down your ual urges just for tonight.” said Chanyeol, hoping he at least made Sehun re-think his plans.

Sehun didn’t respond and instead he stood up, grabbed a beer, and headed towards the bonfire.  Chanyeol was a tad annoyed that he was just ignored by his best friend, but he followed Sehun nonetheless.

When Baekhyun looked up, he saw Sehun walking towards him and Luhan, with a very defeated Chanyeol trailing behind.  Baekhyun gave Chanyeol a ‘what the hell, I thought I told you to keep Sehun at a distance’ look, and all Chanyeol did was shrug.  Luhan was too focused on toasting the perfect marshmallow that he didn’t even notice Sehun and Chanyeol approaching. 

Sehun took a seat beside Luhan and handed him a drink, “Here, I thought you might be thirsty.” said Sehun, as he leaned in a bit closer to Luhan. 

Luhan looked surprised, but he didn’t lean away like the other boys were expecting.  He thanked Sehun and took the drink, eyes still focused on the gooey treat at the end of his stick.  While Sehun began to toast his own marshmallow, he couldn’t help but admire the soft features of Luhan’s face.  Sure, he’s been with plenty of pretty girls, but none of them seemed to compare.  And Sehun thought the way Luhan seemed so proud of his golden brown marshmallow was really cute. 

Since Sehun was paying more attention to Luhan rather than his own marshmallow, it started to catch on fire.  Cursing and trying to blow out the fire, Sehun ended up with a blackened marshmallow, burnt to a crisp.  Luhan saw Sehun’s struggle and contemplated a bit to himself before he handed his perfect marshmallow over to Sehun. 

“Have mine, since you got me the drink…” Luhan said as he looked into the fire and took a few sips. 

Sehun was about to say something, when two girls stumbled over and squeezed themselves between Sehun and Luhan.

“Oppa! Why are you over here roasting marshmallows? You should be hanging out with us by the water!” said one girl.

“A few of us were thinking about going skinny dipping…what do you say?” said the other, batting her lashes. 

Sehun would usually never turn down an offer to see a bunch of girls strip down and head for the water, but he happened to see Luhan looking a bit more than disappointed.  One of the girls leaned into Sehun’s side while rubbing his shoulders flirtatiously when Luhan stood up and headed towards the cooler. 

Luhan had no idea why he was so distressed over the fact that Sehun had a few girlfriends to hang around.  He just met him! He shouldn’t be feeling jealous of a couple ty girls, but he does, and it pisses him off.  Luhan finishes off the drink that Sehun had brought him and starts looking for another one.

When Sehun saw Luhan get up and walk away, he was stunned.  ‘Is he jealous?’ thought Sehun.

All of a sudden, these girls seemed pretty uninteresting.  Sehun shrugged them off and followed Luhan.  The two girls, as well as Baekhyun and Chanyeol were both confused and shocked.  Did Sehun really just ditch these two girls for a guy that he just met? Baekhyun looked at Chanyeol with his brows raised and said, “What did you say to Sehun? He’s like new person.”

“I have no idea what’s gotten into him, but I don’t think it had anything to do with what I said to him…” said Chanyeol as he watched the two girls scoff and walk away.

Sehun soon found Luhan by the coolers, looking for another drink. 

“Hey, why’d you get up and leave so suddenly?” asked Sehun.

Luhan turned around and was met with Sehun, the one guy he really didn’t want to see right now.  Struggling with the bottle opener, Luhan took a deep breath and replied “No reason.”

Sehun took the bottle from Luhan and opened it up for him, “Since you gave me your marshmallow…” said Sehun, smiling down at Luhan.  Luhan couldn’t help but blush as he smiled shyly and thanked Sehun.

“So are we just going to keep doing each other favors? What a polite party this is.” Luhan said as he gazed up at Sehun, noticing that this boy really has no bad angles. 

Sehun laughed and grabbed himself a drink, “Believe me, I’m usually never this polite.”

Luhan smiled and looked to his left, where he saw Baekhyun and Chanyeol making their way towards him and Sehun.  They were struggling a bit through the sand, but made it to their destination in one piece.  Baekhyun faked a yawn before he grabbed Luhan's hand and took his drink.

“Phew, I’m exhausted! Aren’t you tired Luhan? We should get going pretty soon.” said Baekhyun as he started pulling Luhan away from Sehun and Chanyeol.

“Huh? Baek, we haven’t even been here for that long…and besides, I’m not tir—” Luhan was interrupted when Chanyeol cleared his throat and gave Luhan a ‘just listen to Baekhyun and go’ look.  Luhan was bit confused, but didn’t push the issue.

“Wait, you’re leaving now? You pretty much just got here.” Sehun said as he gave Baekhyun a questioning look.

“Yeah well, I’ve had a long day and Chanyeol doesn’t want me driving when I’m overly tired.  Wouldn’t wanna get hurt!” said Baekhyun as he awkwardly laughed and pulled Luhan a bit harder to get his point across.

“We should get going…” Luhan added, as he thought Baekhyun had a pretty good reason for being so insistent.

“Then at least let Chanyeol and I walk you to the car.” said Sehun, putting his hand on Luhan’s waist and leading him in the right direction.  Baekhyun sighed at the action, but thought what the heck, at least we’re leaving.

The walk to the car was quiet, except for the music that was still blasting around them.  Sehun was walking beside Luhan while Chanyeol and Baekhyun were a few feet behind them, observing the two boys in front.  Sehun had so far kept his hands to himself, which gave Baekhyun a feeling of relief.  When they finally got to the car, Baekhyun bid his goodbyes and hopped in the drivers seat. 

Just as Luhan was about to open the door, Sehun grabbed him by the waist and gave him a light kiss on the cheek.  Luhan froze, as he wasn’t expecting a kiss from Sehun.  He had been quiet and polite for most of the evening, so it caught Luhan by surprise.  He blushed and quickly got in the car, wanting to leave as soon as possible to delay the awkwardness that was sure to come.  Baekhyun glared at Sehun, while Chanyeol just rolled his eyes.

“I’ll be sure to see you when classes start.” said Sehun, with a look of triumph on his face. Luhan just hid his face in his hands and mumbled for Baekhyun to start driving.

Once the car had started rolling away, Chanyeol gave Sehun a light punch in the arm.

“Really? You can’t keep your hands to yourself for one night? You better not make Luhan your new ‘go to’ for a .  He’s too sweet for that, don’t ruin him…” said Chanyeol, while he gave a disapproving look to Sehun.

Sehun just smiled and shook his head, “No. He won’t be my new ‘go to’...he’s better than that.”
