Obliged
Married to Mr. Arrogant
You hurried to keep up with Jaejoong as he strode down your street in a breezing crisp of night. “Wait,” you called. He paused to look at you and started to walk again. He was fast that you half-ran to catch up. “Wait!” you called again.
He stopped and wistfully turned to look at you with the slightest hint of annoyance.
You panted and blubbered, “Aren’t we supposed to get to know each other?”
He stared down you for a second. “Let me tell you upfront; I don’t like you and I don’t want to get married to you. But for some situation we have to. Because I have to manage the company with a chosen wife— that’s the rule and I am obliged to follow. We don’t have to know about each other since we don’t have anything in common.
But let me get one thing straight,” His brown eyes gazed intently on your eyes with a flaring intensity. “I don’t want to come running to save you because of your stupidity when we’re married.” He turned and walked again.
You felt tears threatening to fall but you held them back. Hurt and angered, you realized your hands were shaking furiously. You fought the urge to call out to him and yell bad words, but you knew everything he said was painfully true. He doesn’t want you and you don’t want him— at the very least.
“Aren’t you coming to walk? The adults will wonder why you’re still standing there.” He called out; unwillingly you followed, keeping a boundary and silence for the rest of the walk.
Was it possible to get married without love? Maybe it could be that way, just companionship and commitment. You swore quietly that you’ll never fall in love with an arrogant like him. Or so you thought.
