“It’s cold,” you muttered as you wrapped your scarf around your neck tightly. Grabbing the door handle, you looked back over your shoulder and waved goodbye to your family.

“Come back before the sunsets,” your father said.

“Bring Daehyun with you, I made his favourites~,” your mum’s voice followed.

“Bring back food,” Yani piped in, tapping at her laptop in the living room.

You chuckle at them while shaking your head. You can’t help remember the time you just met them, so unsure and confused. You wouldn’t talk to them unless it was important or until you actually had something to say but as time went by, they grew on you and you couldn’t help but think fondly about them.

You were all family, sharing sad and happy moments. Walking out of the house, you spotted Daehyun in the front waiting for you. You two have planned to go on a walk again, this time no ditching the other to save yourself from a certain person’s wrath.

“Hey~” Daehyun greeted you with a small smile. You blush in response. You couldn’t help it because when you look at him, you don’t expect a smile or smirk, you expect a mask. It’s only been 2 weeks since he took it off-well tried to take it off. Daehyun has a habit of just slipping it on without thinking about it.

“Hey,” you finally replied, standing by him.

Smiling down at you, Daehyun took hold of your hand and started to drag you around. “Where are we going this time?” you question, looking ahead as cars slowly drove pass and families walked on the other side of the pavement across the road.

“Somewhere~” Daehyun replied slyly. You couldn’t help but roll your eyes at him. He can be so childish sometimes.

You both continued to walk, passing stores, the park, the orphanage-only the crunching noise of when your foot makes contact with the dead leaves on the floor was heard. Not liking the silence, even though it was comfortable, you sighed and opened your mouth to question Daehyun again.

“Where are we going?” you ask for the second time.

“We are almost there, don’t worry,” Daehyun reassured you with a squeeze of your hand. You pout at him and continued to look ahead. You could see a few familiar things. The flower store that has the most prettiest flowers you ever seen. The best succulents and desert flowers came from that store. The small restaurant that has the most delicious warm soup and noodles. Another park, that led a path way to a small mountain-giving you the best view of the sunset from up top. And finally, the graveyard…the place that held your real mother.

“Daehyun,” you whisper in confusion as you both walked closer to the graveyard. “What are we doing? Wait, why are we going in here?”

Daehyun looked back at you and smiled. “Secret~” he said, grinning at you. You look at him bewildered before frowning as he kept dragging you through the yard.

“Yah! We aren’t supposed to be here!” you called out to him, trying to tug him back towards the entrance of the place. Daehyun shook his head and pulled you towards him instead. “Yah!”
