“JiHyun, get up now!” your cousin shouted, knocking on your bedroom door loudly.

“No!” you moaned in return, stirring around on your bed. Not long after your eyes opened slowly. ‘School, why do you exist?’ Throwing your legs out to the edge of your bed, you slowly got up and got ready.

“Wait up JiHyun!” your sister puffed out. Her name is Yani and she’s your sister, not biological but adoptive. Either way, you always felt comfortable with her and didn’t know what you would do without her.

“Nope. You should be faster~”, you called back before laughing as you saw her irritated look from over your shoulder. “Mehrong!”

“Yah! Wait til we get to school! You won’t be laughing for too long!” she yelled. You rolled your eyes at her while letting out a low chuckle. Even though she knew you were getting bullied every day at school, she didn’t know how severely it was. And her words just made you remember all the things the students had done to you.

Saying goodbye to Yani, you quickly walked away and headed towards your maths class early. Some students who also arrived early, stared at you while others glared and whispered things to each other. You lowered your head, you knew you weren’t welcomed here. And everywhere you went, it seemed like the hatred spread until almost every one hated you.

‘Why me though? Why does it have to be me?’  Your inner conscious cried out.

“I just don’t know,” you whispered, answering your own train of thoughts.

Few minutes went by and you reached your classroom. Grabbing the handle, you opened the classroom door, only to be greeted with silence. It was still early to arrive at the time, but you preferred it that way. You always got the chance to sit in the far back, away from the other students and also if you came early, you could always avoid the harsh words and attacks from the students in the hallways.

Taking out your book, you started to read it and zoned everything else out. Without you noticing, another person entered the room silently before sitting at a desk nearby you since it was also in the back. Feeling that there was another presence beside you, you glanced to your right and let out a small squeak before returning your gaze to your book. “G-Good m-morning, D-Daehyun-ssi,” you whispered.

Said boy looked at you and nodded in response before returning to….whatever he was doing. Your fingers clenched tightly around the book you are reading as your heart raced as your mind acknowledged his presence in the room.

Jung Daehyun. One of the school kingkas that is the most silent and also the most mysterious. Every time you saw him, your heart would skip a beat and you couldn’t help but let it flutter as you stare at him. You also couldn’t help but wonder why he wears a mask, masking the lower half of his charming face. Shaking your head violently, you snapped out of your thoughts and blushed as Daehyun crooked a brow at you, wondering why you were acting strangely. Embarrassed you slowly slid down on your seat as the bell rang for students to go to their first classes.  

When the teacher arrived you mentally thanked him as Daehyun returned his eyes to the front rather than you. The girls in the class started to squeal softly and giggled as the teacher took off his framed glasses, revealing his sharp features.
