All the girls are lined up except for Emcee Sooyoung and Usher Hyoyeon. From eldest to youngest.

Heheh… no age hiding.

Why only girls???!  well, because they will be the one to choose their partners for the game but not that easy as you expect it to be. We cut pieces of small paper wherein each of the guy's name is written on it. Every girl will pick one and whoever it is you got, he will be your partner.

 

General Rule: No swapping of partners!

 

 

Yoona Pov

 

We are all line up to choose our partner for the newspaper dance game. From Victoria Unnie to Seohyun Maknae, and I am the 2^nd to the last of course standing beside Maknae.

 

“How I wish I could pick his name. Oh please…” - talking in my mind

 

“Unnie are you wishing he will be your partner?” –Seohyun said with a low voice as if she reads my mind

“Maknae of course I wanted to but what’s the chance? See, we are 8 girls on the line and unfortunately, we are on the last.” -i told her with a bit of sadness on my tone

 

“Don’t worry Unnie; there are lots of chances to be close to him. I’ll help you pray for that!”- she whispered again with an assurance look to me.

“Maknae Saranghae! You’re even more matured enough than me.” –I said hugging her

 

 

Victoria Unnie then got one and she smiled while looking at the paper she got. Then followed by Taeyeon unnie and so on.... ‘Til Seohyun.

 

“Unnie, I have a good news for you..“- She giggles and smiles widely to me

“Just tell them that you picked Jonghyun-shi.” –she continued whispering not obviously so that they will not suspect us.

 

“Mwo?! How will I tell...”

 

“I got his name…” -She didn’t even let me finish what I was about to say…

 

“Maknae! You are really an angel!” - My mind shouts.

I’m smiling secretly now while talking to myself.

 

Then the announcing of partners began...

 

“Ok, we’ll start with Victoria unnie… who will be your partner unnie?”-Sooyoung

 

“Baby Changmin!!!” –she said happily while clapping her hands

Then changmin went to Victoria side.

 

And so on… until...

 

"Yuri-ah?"-Sooyoung

 

"I'm the most lucky girl tonight 'coz I'm with the birthday boy, Kyuhyun-oppa!" -Yuri said happily

Then kyu went to yuri's side with unidentified look and then...

 

“Yoona-yah, who's with you?”-Sooyoung

 

Now, it's my turn...

 

“It's Jonghyun-shi…”-I spoke a little cool so that they will not overreact if ever things become awkward

I saw Sooyoung and Hyoyeon smile playfully and was giggling when I said his name.

 

“What’s the name in your paper unnie?”-Seohyun abruptly asked me

“Oh! I forgot to tell her who will be her partner...”

“Its Yonghwa-shi…” – I whispered to her when suddenly..

 

"awk!"- seohyun choked upon hearing the name of her partner.

 

“Ok, then last… Maknae?”

"What happened to you maknae? Are you alright?" -Sooyoung

 

"I'm ok unnie. It’s Yonghwa-shi… “-she said in disbelief glaring at me.

 

Kekeke... Sorry maknae I know you can do it! :D

And more giggle from the 2 ladies in front of us.

The girls are now revealing who will be their partners until...

 

“Yoona-yah, who's with you?” -sooyoung asked her

I felt my heart beating in a fast pace until I hear her speak…

 

“It's Jonghyun-shi…”

 

Shocked! My mind is really shocked at this moment... My heart beats even faster and uncontrollable right now. But in spite of this feeling I still managed to stay still not letting them witness any awkwardness in me.

 

My heart… my mind is full of happiness.  Now I’m walking towards her showing my dimples smile. This is my chance to be closer to her. I still can’t believe it.

Upon reaching the place beside her, she shows me her precious smile and said…

 

“Jongie! Let us win this!”

I nodded and smiled back at her.

 

“Jonghyun-shi, you are one great, lucky guy! Among all the boys, your name is destined to be picked by Yoona’s hand. Unbelievable. Now, this is the very start of your closeness. Don’t let her down. You have to win this arasso...” –in my thoughts

 

 

Kyuhyun Pov

 

Aw! She is paired with Jonghyun then. I'm a bit disappointed upon hearing Yuri-shi said my name, not that I don't want to be her partner, I was just somehow hoping it was Yoong to be with me 'coz I'm pretty sure if we'll going to be in 1 team we will win every game. We are the Game Masters not only in computer games but in all kinds of competitions.

 

Now I'm bragging too much of my bestfriend. Of course I am proud having her as my closest, an extraordinary Yoong! 

Speaking of her suddenly...

 

"Kyu Oppa! I will beat you again this time!"-she said to me smirking

"Oh! Let's see that.."- I responded also with a smirk

 

"Jonghyun oppa is with me and we will be the best player for tonight!" She assured me with her chin up, both hands on her waist

"Really?" I said to her

 

Then I turned to Jonghyun,

"Jongie did you eat a lot earlier? You better be 'coz you'll gonna carry a heavy monster beside you!" - I blurted evily and smirk again to Yoona

 

"Mwo! Then you are a dinosaur! 'coz you snore as loud as a roar of a rhino!" -yoona

 

"And you are an alligator! 'Coz your mouth transforms whenever you laugh! Hahaha.." -i laugh at her harder

 

Here we are again on our teasing moments. Kekeke...

I really love to tease my bestfriend. And  you will never really win against her when it comes to these.

 

We could never end our teasing until the emcee already told us to set the newspaper and get ready.

 

 

Jonghyun Pov

 

I was laughing so hard at these two people- (one on my left and one on my right) exchanging smirks and unending evilness. No wonder they are really comfortable to be best friends.

But I stopped realizing how Yoona addressed me... Am I hearing things or really it's clear that she called me "Oppa"?

 

Wow! That's really amazing...  I wish she will get used in calling me that way. It's very soothing to my ears.

 And she even teased hyung that she's going to beat him 'coz I'm her partner. That we will beat hyung together.

I feel like floating in the air for a while and got back to my senses when the emcee spoke again and told us to get ready.

 

"This is it..."

 

I arranged our newspaper and with the count of the emcee the music started...

 

"Gosh! I'm one-footer when it comes to dancing. It's not really my passion. Just let me sing and strum my guitar the whole night but dancing is a no no. But I got no choice right now, I need to win this for Yoona!"

 

She saw how awkward I was in dancing, I'm really embarassed in front of her doing some random steps with my head looking on the newspaper  while suddenly,

 

"Jonghyun-shi, come on... Give me your hands." - she said

 

"Huh?!"

I reacted not believing what i just heard then she reached for my hands and she hold it both with hers while helping me to dance, following the rhythm of  her movements.

Gosh! Her hands are really soft and smooth. Those hands that I was longing to hold are now intertwined with mine." my mind speaks again

 

I'm trembling! I am so nervous right now! In any moment I feel like I'm needing a nebulizer to breath easier. Gosh! This feeling... I still managed to follow her steps...

She's very cool and cheerfulness you can see all over her face.  She's smiling at me while showing her moves, we are dancing with both hands attached to each other.  

 

then music stops...

We both stepped on the paper not letting go of our hands. We looked at each other, eye to eye, stunned at the moment and after somewhat seconds or minutes I guess,  finally we realize that we are still in that position and we quickly broke and let go of our hands. oh my...

 

 

 Yoona Pov

 

I found Jonghyun-shi really awkward in dancing. Unaware, I laugh at him silently as his head is looking on the floor as if the newspaper will get lost.

I don't know what has got into me but suddenly I told him to reach for my hands so that I can help him with the dancing. His eyes looked at me in disbelief but then he still reach both his hands into mine and we're now dancing while holding each other.

 

When the music stopped, we step on the paper with both hands still attached together. "Gosh! So much sweetness in the air!". We are stunned for a moment and finally realize that we are still holding each other and we quickly let go of our hands.

 

1st round is finished and no one was eliminated.

 

Now, 2nd round, (newspaper folded into 2)

 

Music starts again, the newspaper was folded and this time we dance without holding each other's hands.

 

After the music, we stepped into the newspaper and stand really close, our body facing each other while our heads on opposite direction. I can smell his sweet scent though,.. it's very relaxing and I almost drowned myself into his chest. My heart is beating fast now and we were both quiet. No one ever dare to utter a word, awkwardness and shyness filled both of us this time.

 

On the 3rd round, (3 folds of the newspaper), the paper is getting smaller. And my heart is beating faster and faster imagining what will be our state as soon as the paper becomes the smallest.

 

"Yoona-shi, which side of your foot is stronger?" -he asked me while the music is on

 

"I guess it's the right." - I answered him with a confuse face

 

"Ok then, this is what we'll do, you'll step on your right foot on the other side and I will step the other way around. Arasso?.. Don't worry you will not fall I will support you." -he told me his plans with a sweet tone and a sweet smile showing his dimples

 

"This is so, so much! Help me guys I can't breathe!!!" - I'm screaming in my mind

 

Music stopped...

 

We slowly step on the paper with just one foot.

"Gosh! Oh Gosh! We are this close,... His right arm is encircle in front of me with his hand supporting my shoulder to prevent me from falling. It's like he's hugging me with one arm! Really gosh! " - I'm screaming again and again

 

The ushers told us to stay still on our position for minutes to make sure no one will fall.

 

Then...

5 pairs had fallen.

 

And the survivors...

 

Yuri-Kyuhyun

Seohyun-Yonghwa

Yoona-Jonghyun

 

 I looked on my right and saw Yonghwa-shi hugging Seohyunnie to prevent her from falling as well. I can see Seohyun Maknae blushing hard with their awkward position. She has left with no choice but to be paired with him 'coz of my wish but I'm happy for her 'coz she likes that guy as well.

 

Then I shift on the other side and found my best friend, Kyuhyun-oppa carrying yuri-unnie on his back. Oppa is really strong, he managed to stand still while carrying unnie.

Looks like we really have big challengers here. 

 

"Ok guys! 3 pairs left... Let us see who will going to survive 'til the end???!" -emcee Sooyoung said with full of excitement

 

Jonghyun-shi folded the paper and It's really even smaller this time. Only one foot can occupy on the paper.

 

"Uhm... Yoona-shi, is it ok with you if I carry you this time while stepping on it." -he shyly asked me while pointing on the paper

 

"I guess we have no other choice! kekeke... just joking. Don't worry Jonghyun-shi it's ok with me, I believe we will win this game!" -

I though my heart is thumping hard imagining what will happen next.

 

"Its ok if you want to hug me or carry me the whole night as long as it's you I will never say no." Oh my ert mind! Erase! Erase!

 

"Ah! I'm nervous..." I whispered to myself

 

"Ok guys, are you ready?"  -Sooyoung

 

Music on...

 

We dance and dance until Kyu Oppa whispered on my back...

 

"Are you not going to congratulate me Yoong? I'm pretty sure we'll going to win this! Kekeke.."

"Yah! Evilkyu! The game has just started. I badly want to see you cry in regrets for not giving your best shot in this very easy game!"

I responded him

 

The heat of the game is in the air as if we are both in a real serious competition.

 

"Hahaha!!!"

Then we burst into laughter. Kyu oppa pinched my nose and said,

 

"You are such a great villain actress yoong!"

"And you can surpass to be my sidekick oppa!"- I second the motion

 

All of them are glaring at us right now. I smiled and just gave them a peace sign and return my gaze to my partner, Jonghyun-shi and I saw him laughing silently at me.

 

"Fighting!"- I said to him giving my best smile.

 

 

 

Jonghyun Pov

 

I'm watching these 2 besties killing each other again. I'm laughing hard when suddenly I saw hyung pinched yoona on the nose.

 

I felt a bit jealous, just a bit. I know it's normal for them to do that 'coz they are really close, as in best of friends... then I saw everyone glaring at them but she still managed to stay playful giving them a peace sign. Hahaha!!! This girl really...

 

She then smiled back at me and said,

"Fighting!"

 

"Gosh! Yoona what are you doing to me? How will I ever sleep every night knowing that you always cross my mind? Tell me how will I ever concentrate on everything when all I can think of is your lovely smile. We just met and first time spending an occasion together with friends. This is just one night of a celebration but I'm feeling like I've known you for a long time."

I was lost in my own thoughts, stunned by her smile and has got back to my senses when suddenly she tapped my shoulder

 

"Jonghyun-shi, now we are ready to win this. Hwaiting!" She said

 

 

Sooyoung secretly gave Eunhyuk a signal to stop the music...

 

Nervousness and excitement is all you can see upon everyone's faces...
