The Choice
Himchan walked in the house and found his younger cousin still awake, eating apple pie at the dining room.
“You left us.”
“Oh, I did. Did the party end early?” She asked. Himchan nodded, then he studied her face.
“Hee, is something wrong?” He walked to her, Junhee shook her head and swallowed.
“I know you and Chanhee had a fight-”
“It’s fine, oppa. I just....feel...It’s just a headache.” She managed to smile.
HImchan nodded and kissed her forehead.
“Don’t stay up too late.”
“Yes, young master.” She grinned at him. As soon as Himchan was out, she sighed heavily.
“This can’t be happening.” She whispered.
Kai walked in the lounge and found it empty, except for Daehyun.
“Himchan?”
“He’s out with Hyemi, I think they’re at the cafeteria.” Daehyun replied, putting his iPad away.
“Chunji?”
“He’s...here, somewhere.”
Kai rolled his eyes.
“Junhee?”
“I haven’t seen her.”
Kai sighed.
“Well, at least Himchan’s happy now.”
“Me? Happy?”
Himchan walked in with Hyemi behind him.
“I don’t think I should be here.” Hyemi said.
“No, don’t think that. You’ve...earned your spot here.” Kai grinned, Himchan rolled his eyes at him and went to the fridge.
“What happened here?” He asked as he eyed the dent.
“That....Chunji..happened.” Kai said, Daehyun nodded.
“I still don’t get why he can’t tell Junhee.” Himchan sighed as he pulled the door.
“Anything to drink? Juice?” He turned to Hyemi.
“Water would do.” She nodded.
“I mean, it’s not like Junhee’s totally ignoring him, and now they fight.”
Hyemi blinked and sat down, Himchan took the seat next to her and placed a bottle of Evian in front of her.
“Wait, Chunji sunbae..likes Junhee?”
“Bingo!” Kai nodded.
Junhee walked inside the house and was surprised to saw their family butler running around.
“What’s happening?” She asked.
“Good evening, young miss. Madam Kim arrived just earlier, we were uninformed.”
She nodded and went up the stairs. She smiled at the thought of her aunt, she did miss the lady. Then she saw light spilling from the main study.
She was about to walk to the doors when she heard voices.
“Eomma, if you plan to arrange Himchan, he won’t do it. We know how he is.”
“The only thing we don’t have under our business is an oil corporation; you know how this could help us too, Minjung.” Her aunt replied.
“But, this is unfair. You arranged my marriage with Khun, don’t do this to him.”
“But aren’t you happy with your husband?”
“Eomma, I was lucky because I knew Khun and I loved him before we got married. But with Channie, he doesn’t even know the girl.”
“She’s the daughter of Seo Oil Group, she the youngest child and has an older brother.”
“I don’t think that’s enough, eomma.” Minjung sighed.
Junhee frowned as she remembered how much changed Himchan was and how happy he is right now. Finally, he was opening up to Hyemi. And Hyemi was doing the same.
She squared her shoulders and stepped in.
“Junhee!” Her aunt blinked.
“Imo(Aunt), I’ll do it.”
