The Choice
It was a clear Saturday morning, Himchan was having his breakfast alone. Junhee never woke up early during weekends.
He picked up his sandwich, then he remembered Hyemi.
His brows rose slightly.
Hyemi stepped out from their building and was about to walk to the bus stop when a familiar yellow sport car stopped beside her.
“Sunbae!” She blinked. Himchan nodded at her and he leaned over to open the door.
“Get in.”
Hyemi looked at him.
“I have to get to somewhere.”
“I know, I’ll drive you there.”
“But, I have to some errands to run too.”
“I have tons of time too.“ Himchan smirked back.
Hyemi walked in the grocery mart with Himchan a few steps behind her. She was extremely uncomfortable, having Himchan around was nerve wracking for her. She felt conscious and unbale to move freely.
“This is the errand?” Himchan asked from behind her, she spun around to face him. Indeed, him and his friends are worthy of their name, F4. He was dressed casually, in denim jeans, a white dress shirt with rolled up sleeves and a pair of leather sneakers. Hyemi tore her gaze away from him.
“Yes, I have to buy some things.”
“You do this on your own?” Himchan asked again as he kept pace with her.
“My parents are usually away on business trips, so I have no choice.”
Himchan’s brows rose thoughfully as he pulled one of the carts.
“Sunbae, I’ll push-”
“How would that make me look? Letting a girl push this.” He smiled as he walked. Hyemi blinked and watched as he went through the first aisle he saw.
“He has a point.”
Hyemi checked her list and looked at the cart.
“Something lacking?” Himchan asked her. Her brows furrowed lightly as she looked around them, some of the customers were looking, no- staring at him.
“I need to get some apples.” She nodded as she started to head for the fresh fruit section.
Himchan smiled lightly as he followed her. Even though it was a new experience for him, he never did the grocery shopping, he felt happy that he wa with her.
And one thing that he realized that moment was, he liked being around Hyemi. And he doesnt know why.
“Sunbae?”
Himchan’s eyes flew back to her.
“This way.” Hyemi smiled at her as she gently pulled the cart.
“Do you have any siblings?” He asked.
“Nope, I’m only child. How about sunbae? Do you have siblings?”
“Isseo, I have a noona and Junhee.”
“Noona?” Hyemi asked.
“She got married two years ago, she’s living in Japan as of now.” Himchan nodded, then he smiled. He did miss his older sister.
“That’s why it has always been me and Junhee hanging out, but then she left for Japan too.”
Hyemi nodded, then she reached for the bag of apples.
“Let me do it.”
Hyemi felt his hand on her arm as he gently pulled her back, she froze.
“It looks heavy.” Himchan explained as he easily pulled the bag and placed it on the cart.
“..Thanks.”
Himchan nodded.
“So we proceed to check out?” He asked.
“...Yes, check out.” Hyemi nodded, Himchan walked ahead leaving her staring at him in wonder.
“They did say that Kim Himchan was rude and uncaring, right? I have to talk to Yejin.” She murmured to herself.
