Is that how it goes?

Oh well.

It was Christmas time already. And Lulu and I decided that we’d be spending our Christmases with our families back at home.

“Mom, what should I do?” Luhan asked. He was in the kitchen holding the knife and the chopping board.

My own mother chuckled. “My goodness, Luhan. Don’t call me Mom already! It makes me think that you and my baby are going to get married soon!”

Lulu laughed. “But Mom, I can marry her, right?”

My mom laughed with him. “Of course. Just make sure you’ll love her always. Right, honey?”

I rolled my eyes as I washed the dishes. “Stop talking about that! It’s disgusting!”

Both Mom and Luhan laughed. Oh, those two…

A few minutes later, Mom went out to set up the living room and the tables outside. Lulu started chopping on the carrots for the salad, and I continued washing the dishes.

“Mom sure is super sweet, isn’t she?” Lulu asked.

“We’re talking about mine? Or yours?”

“My Mom is your mom, and your Mom is my mom, remember?”

I sighed. “Lulu, we’re not married.”

He chuckled. “We’re going to, right?”

Marriage. I don’t know why the heck Lulu’s already thinking about it. What the heck. We just had a fight some days ago. But yeah, although it has been forgotten, of course, marriage is still a serious topic. And we’re not even finished in college yet.

While I was thinking, I suddenly realized that the sound of Lulu’s chopping had stopped.  Before I could even turn around to look, a pair of arms s around my waist and pulled me closer to a steady body.

“Lulu…” I groaned. “I can’t wash the dishes…”

He rested his chin on my shoulders. “I know you won’t answer my previous question. But I just want to know coming from you.  Would you still love me after a thousand years?”

I sighed again, but I smiled. “Of course. Even if you won’t love me back anymore.”

He took a quick peck on my cheek, a habit of his that he’s starting to develop that I really want to remove but just simply ignoring it. “I’ll never stop loving you, Chan-Chan.” He pecked on my cheek again.

I pushed him away. “Ugh! One more kiss, and I’ll soak you with water, you brat!”

He began guffawing to his heart’s content. “Oh, Chan-Chan! I know you won’t!”

“Dare me?” I taunted as I lifted a glass full of water from the faucet.

He held up two hands. “Hey, let’s talk this over—”

“Hey, you two!” Dad came in the kitchen. He smiled when he saw us arguing, but regained his strict composure a little bit afterwards. “Your Mom says to finish up everything. We’ll be eating and opening presents soon.”

“Okay!” Lulu and I chorused.

And so we did. We both quickened with our work, cooked every meal we would have, and prepared the table for everyone. A few moments later, everyone was already in the dining room, including Victoria unnie, and Kris, whom we invited.

“Chan-Chan, dear,” Mom called. “Please do say the blessings for the food?”
