The beat of the music possessed my body. It’s been about a week since I became a trainee at JYPE. First and only Japanese trainee to be here. There wasn’t much of a culture shock to me but I’m still finding it difficult to understand Korean. There’s still room for improvement.

I studied my moves in the mirror. Most of it flowed like I would have like it to but there was a section where I looked too stiff and unnatural. I made a face of frustration and began to go over that part again and again. I was determined to get this part perfect.

“Um, hi?” a boy about the same age of me pushed the door lighting and stuck his head through. Immediately, I looked at him and turned off the music.

“Yeah?” I gave him an annoyed look; he was interrupting my practising time.

“Umm… do you know where 2PM are?” he asked. I furrowed my eyebrows; why would I know that?

“No,” I replied curtly. He looked quite taken aback and nervous. His mouth formed an ‘o’ shape and quietly said goodbye before leaving.

He was actually quite cute. Jung Jinwoon. I think that was his name. I wasn’t sure; I might have to ask one of the other trainees later. Or just stalk him… No, of course I wouldn’t do that. I’m not that kind of person. I’m more like the type of person who would stick to themselves and not say anything. Basically, I’m shy.

I walked over to the stereo and turned it on again to work on the same part. It had to be perfect.

It was getting late and I had to get back to my apartment before my roommate began to worry. She’s the type of person that would call the police even if you were 15 minutes late home. I should know from my first hand experience. She’s seriously worse than my mother but I love her. She’s been my best friend since I could remember.

I was just minding my own business and walking down when I fell. Not my fault, I swear. I bumped into someone and the impact was too big hence why I ended up on the ground.

The person gasped and ran over to me. I rubbed my sore backside and mumbled a few curse words in Japanese. As fast as possible I shoved all my belongings into my bag and stood up completely ignoring the hand that person offered.

“Gwenchena?” he asked me. It was that cute boy again. I nodded not wanting to say anything as I was afraid I would say something stupid.

“I guess I should introduce myself. I’m Jung Jinwoon,” he laughed nervously making his eyes turn into adorable half moons and rubbed the back of his head. A gesture of nervousness. I was right though, his name was Jung Jinwoon.

“Niigaki Tsuji,” I said giving him a half smile.

“Oh you’re that new Japanese trainee,” he said smiling. God, he was adorable. The only thing that I could do was nod.

“I’m guessing you haven’t seen much of Seoul yet. How about I show you around a bit?” he offered with a cute smile playing at his lips. I wanted to say yes but I had to reject his offer.

“I’m sorry Jinwoon-sshi but I can’t,” I told him. His smile fell but he recomposed himself quickly. I felt really bad for saying no. I honestly wanted to go but Yumi was going to kill me if I was late.

“That’s okay. I understand that you’re probably busy,” he said. I thanked him for the offer and carried on with my journey home. Lee Yumi, I want to kill you right now.

“Stop,” the dance instructor yelled over the music. I frowned and brushed the loose hairs out of my face. I knew why I was stopped; it was because of that same part that I had been continuously practising. I still couldn’t get it right.

“You’re too stiff,” she sighed. I knew I could do better and I hope she knew that too.

“Okay. To help you with that part, I’ll ask one of the other JYPE trainees if they will be willing to help you,” she told me. I nodded in understanding.

She went out of the room for a moment to call for another trainee and soon returned with a girl around 19 with an edgy black hairstyle. She wore a black and white striped hoodie with a pair of sweatpants.

“This is Lee Minyoung, or Min as she prefers. One of JYPE’s best dancers,” she introduced the girl. A friendly smile was plastered on her face.

“Anneonghaseyo,” I greeted her and bowed. She mirrored my actions.

“I’ll leave you two to be,” my dance teacher said and walked out.

“So you do it like this,” Min demonstrated when teacher Shi [Dream High reference…] walked out. Her moves were as fluid as water. Every move showcased her attitude but held a unique gracefulness too. Everyone of her dance moves were on the beat as well; it was like she had been practising this for years.

When she had finished I stood there fazed by her talent. It was true; she was definitely one of JYPE’s best dancers.

“Got it?” she asked me with a slight edge to her voice. I didn’t know whether it was intentional or not. I nodded and took the dance floor. I counted myself in and began. I examined each move with caution. This time it was better than last but it was still not as perfect as the way Min did it. But I could practise until I got it to that standard. The music came to an end and I bowed to Min giving her my thanks.

“Thank you so much Minyoung-sshi,” I thanked her. She glared at me and put her hands on her hips.

“Just because I helped you out it does not mean I’m your friend, got it?” she walked towards me. I walked backwards and tried to get away but got to a dead end as my back came into contact into a cold mirror. My heart beat grew faster with nervousness and slight fear but I remained with a neutral face.

“I don’t know who you think you are but you will not beat me at anything. I’m better at you at anything and everything so don’t even compete with me,” she said menacingly, “I know that you like Jinwoon but let me tell you. He. Likes. Me,” she carried on emphasising the last three words. All I could do was nod like a puppy.

“Glad you understood,” she said before grabbing her bag and stalking out. I placed my hand over my heart and felt it beating like crazy. I don’t think I had ever been so scared by just a few words. I just didn’t understand how someone I had never talked to hated me so much. Sliding down a mirror, I sat there trying to catch my breath and slow down my heart rate.

“Hi there,” a voice piped up loudly. I almost had a heart attack. I glared at the person, who happened to be Jinwoon, and placed my chin on my knees.

“Whatcha doing?” he skipped happily over to me. I looked up and opened my mouth to reply but closed it again when I thought about what Min could do to me if I talked to him.

“Helloooooo?” he waved his hand in front of my face. I couldn’t help that smile that sprouted on my face. He just had a very lovable personality.

“Hehe you smiled,” he grinned and giggled. It was hard to believe that this boy was the same person that I had run into the other day. That person was so shy but now he had this hyperactive personality.

“Why aren’t you talking to me? Do you not like me?” he pouted cutely. Ay, this boy had too much aegyo. Must resist…

His eyes doubled in size and he batted his lashes. He puffed out his cheeks and sighed deeply.

“I don’t have a problem with you,” I muttered quietly. A smile played at his lips and his eyes held a glint of mischievousness. I darted my eyes around a bit. Suddenly, he grabbed my wrist and pulled me up.

“Come on let’s go and play,” he grinned and swung my bag on his shoulder. I began to protest but stopped after I realised it was no use.

We ended up in an amusement park. Screams of excitement and horror could be heard miles away. I could already imagine how much fun I would have. I needed to get my mind off Min even if it was Jinwoon. What were the possibilities she would find out?

“I’m tired now,” I said dropping my head on Jinwoon’s shoulder. His hands slowly came in contact with my head and began to stoke my hair softly. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion as I took my head off his shoulder.

“Sorry,” he mumbled softly. I smiled gently at him. I quite liked the feeling of him my hair, even if it was slightly weird.

“Its fine,” I paused and cocked my head to the side as I thought about something, “Hey Jinwoon-sshi. Why are you so nice to me when I act kind of cold to you?” I asked him curiously. He looked away blushing and muttered something.

“Huh?” I studied his movements. He sighed deeply before sitting up.

“I find you interesting. You’re not like any other girls I’ve met. You interest me and I think I’m falling for you,” he trailed off near the end but I still managed to catch what he said. I grinned but then my face dropped as I remembered my little situation with Min.

“Jinwoon, I kind of like you too but Min…” I paused trying to figure what to say without insulting her.

“I know. Min’s a bit… intimidating. I know she had this weird obsession with her but I don’t like her. I would choose you over her any day. Don’t worry about her; I’ll sort that out soon. Trust me,” he told me. His hand came in contact with my face. His fingers strayed down to my chin and he tilted it up so I was looking up at him.

“You’re my girlfriend now,” he stated even though I agreed nothing of the sort.

“Um no,” I gave him a puzzled look.

“Yes you are,” he argued and leaned down to meet my lips. Even though it was short it was also sweet and soft. It conveyed all the feelings he wanted to tell me. I guess I was his girlfriend now.

Another one finished. It took longer than expected >.< That’s only because my brother was selfish and wouldn’t let me use the laptop T_T

I hope you liked this and I can get cracking on with the others though I can’t update as much as I would like this weekend as I’m out all Sunday and on Saturday I have half the day for writing the one shots… Sorry for the slow pace guys and thanks for bearing with me ^-^
