Waiting [Lee Hyun Ae & Cho Kyuhyun]
Sealed With Love [One-shot request shop~ not taking any more requests]It’s been the nth time that Hyun Ae has confessed to Cho Kyuhyun now. Well she hasn’t technically confessed yet, just left hints. Really obvious hints that even the dimmest people would pick up on, which always made her wonder why he hasn’t acknowledged her yet. She didn’t see why he hasn’t as he was one of the smartest students at their school; some would say he was the smartest student that they’ve had in years. Hyun Ae had tried literally everything, she even made her brother help her try and win Kyuhyun’s heart but that wasn’t much use. If anything it made matters worse as Kyuhyun saw Hyun Ae at that point rather desperate and announced it to the whole school leaving her extremely embarrassed and distraught. After that event she locked herself in her room and didn’t talk to anyone for a week or two; she didn’t even talk to her brother Donghae.
“What’s wrong with you?” Choi Sooyoung asked as she walked into the classroom. Hyun Ae lifted her head and glanced at her friend before putting it back down again.
“Nothing,” she sighed deeply then sat up when she heard the teacher walk in.
“Lee Hyun Ae, are you sick?” Mr Park asked her as he walked to the board to write the lesson objectives and notes for the students to copy down. She shook her head. Mr Park was one of her favourite teachers and Hyun Ae was one his favourite students. He liked her because of her diligence and approach to learning; he loved the fact that she had so much enthusiasm when it came to learning new things.
Whilst Hyun Ae was jotting down the notes like a diligent student, a note landed on her desk. Her eyes scanned the room trying to find the person who threw the note. Giving up, she opened it instead figuring it would be easier to work it out that way.
You’re acting this way because of him isn’t it?

Sooyoung. She could tell from the handwriting and she was the only one that didn’t really pay attention in class. Throughout the school years, Sooyoung had relied on Hyun Ae for notes, homework and essays. It wasn’t because Sooyoung was unintelligent, it was purely because she didn’t want to do those things and every time Sooyoung asked her those favours she couldn’t help but say yes. She was the type of person that didn’t like to let people down and she just couldn’t say no. It was in her nature.
Hyun Ae picked up the note and was about to screw it up but another note landed on her desk. Again from Sooyoung.
It’s because he doesn’t notice you right? I’m always right. You’re so easy to read even though you think you’re an amazing liar.

That was one of the traits that Hyun Ae hated about herself. She hated the fact that even though she kept everything to herself everyone figured out her feelings and emotions within seconds just because of her facial expressions. If she says one thing, her face says otherwise. It was one of the reasons why she could never lie successfully.
“Hyun Ae. Pay attention please,” she hastily hid the notes underneath her book fearing MrParkwould find them and read them out. But thankfully he didn’t move. She nodded her head slightly then opened her textbook at the right pages and began to work on the questions quietly like the rest of the class.
The lesson passed by quickly. Maybe it was because Hyun Ae still had a certain person in her thoughts or the other reason could be because the work was fairly easy.
“Wait, you can’t go yet. I still need to give you your test results back from last lesson. Third was, Choi Sooyoung; second was, Kim Kibum; and first was, like always, Lee Hyun Ae. Well done everyone. This time results weren’t that bad. Just remember to revise for next week’s test. I expect everyone to get 70% or higher. Okay now you can go,” he told the class. Before he could actually finish the sentence everyone rushed out except Hyun Ae who lingered around. MrParknoticed that she was extra quiet than she normally was, at least most of the time she would be leaving the classroom talking animatedly with Sooyoung but today she had nothing to say.
“Are you not happy with your test results? You only lost 0.5 of a mark, no need to worry about it,” her teacher reassured her. She looked up at him and half smiled.
“No, it’s not that. I’m happy with my results though I wish I could correct that half mark I lost out on because I know exactly where I went wrong,” she told him folding the paper neatly and placing it in her bag.
“Did something happen at home?” he interrogated her.
“Aniyo, nothing like that at all,” she told him quickly before he started to get the wrong idea.
“Okay, cheer up a bit though Hyun Ae. You’re one of my favourite pupils and I wouldn’t like to see you upset over a boy,” he said to her before walking out leaving behind a very shocked Hyun Ae. dropped open and her eyes grew twice as big. Yes, this proved she was readable like an open book. But why couldn’t he read her. Did she need a big bold flashing sign pointing to her saying ‘notice me’? Even then he’ll still probably not notice her.
“Yeah, be happy. He’s just a boy. A very smart and handsome one but still a guy,” she said to herself while walking out to go home.
“Oppa, I came third in my class,” a chirpy familiar voice yelled across the basketball court.
“That’s my smart Sooyoung,” Kyuhyun’s voice rang through her ears. Her name being said by him. He used a possessive pronoun to address her. He called her ‘my Sooyoung’.
Hyun Ae felt so betrayed by her best friend. Even though they never really discussed it, Sooyoung knew that Hyun Ae liked Kyuhyun since she middle school. Yet she still betrayed her so-called best friend. As well as feeling stabbed in the back by Sooyoung, she also felt disappointed in herself because somewhere in her brain she knew that it probably would have happened. Sooyoung was someone you couldn’t resist. Her charms were beyond anything Hyun Ae had and she had the perfect body and she oozed aegyo unlike Hyun Ae who was pretty average and didn’t really stand out except for her intelligence. She knew she should have been more assertive and told him straight out.
“You’re aiming to get 100% next time right?” Kyu asked her. She grinned at his question and nodded her head.
“Good. You’re going to have to be a dedicated student and listen to everything I say okay? You need 100% if you want to be first since you have that Lee Hyun Ae girl in your class,” he told her.
I suppose the good thing is that he knows who I am,she thought.
“Yupp I know. Hyun Ae was being depressed again. Did she talk to you oppa?” she questioned him pouting cutely.
“She tried. I don’t really know her so why does she keep talking to me?” his eyebrows furrowed in a confused manner. Despite the situation right now, Hyun Ae couldn’t stop herself from smiling. He was just too cute for his own good when he did that.
“I don’t know either. I think she thinks that she’s your girlfriend or something. She’s so weird,” Sooyoung said to Kyuhyun. Hyun Ae was in-between angry and upset; she soon found herself shedding a few tears due to the harsh words said by Sooyoung.
“Hey Hyun Ae. Whatcha doing?... Wait are you okay? You’re crying,” her brother, Lee Donghae, popped out of nowhere. She tried to stop the tears that were flowing but the waterworks would turn off. And for some reason she still carried on watching Sooyoung and Kyuhyun. Maybe she was just a masochist…
“Oh,” were the only words that came out of Donghae’s mouth when he realised what his little sister was looking at. He clenched his fist in anger. How dare anyone hurt his little sister? Especially her best friend, she’s never been anything but loyal to her and now she stabs her in the back. A great best friend.
“Yah Choi Sooyoung,” her brother yelled. Both Sooyoung and Kyuhyun turned to see a very angry Donghae coming towards them.
“Neh oppa,” Sooyoung’s voice was coated with innocence.
“Don’t put on that act,” Donghae found it hard to control his anger towards Sooyoung. If he didn’t know any better he would have fell for her act, but he could see through her act.
“You were supposed to be her best friend. You’re supposed to keep her secrets safe and stand by her at all times but you don’t. Instead of doing all of that you leave her in the dark. I trusted you to be a good friend. I thought you could be the best friend that my sister never had, but I was wrong,” he said to her trying to keep himself together. Sooyoung now had nothing to say to this, she was left speechless.
“Yeah that’s what I thought. Please go, I don’t want to talk to you any longer and don’t even think about making up with my sister. She doesn’t need you in her life,” he ushered her away. Without being asked twice, Sooyoung walked away from the two boys and passed Hyun Ae. She lifted her head to meet Sooyoung’s eyes that were filled with guilt. She couldn’t help but feel sorry for Sooyoung even though she knew she should be feeling like that.
“Hyun Ae?” Donghae walked back over to her. She made a noise to acknowledge his presence.
“Go and talk to Kyu,” he said simply. A look of terror crossed her face but she knew she eventually had to confess to him if she wanted to start any sort of relationship with him. Plus, she needed know what went through his head.
“Hi,” she greeted shyly. Kyuhyun looked somewhat shocked, scared, guilty and confused.
“Hi,” he greeted back with a half smile. Even with a half smile, Hyun Ae felt herself melting into a puddle. She couldn’t contain her nervousness and it was apparent as she began to fidget.
“Can we talk?” she asked with her voice quivering slightly.
“We’re talking now aren’t we?” he said to her. She giggled a little at his response. Kyuhyun found himself absent-mindedly smiling at the pleasant noise that came out of . She was an interesting girl so he thought.
“True,” she paused and tried to figure out how she was going to say the things she wanted to say, “I don’t understand you,” she eventually told him. He looked at her with confusion.
“I don’t understand how someone so smart is so stupid. Or are you just oblivious?” she carried on but this time she sounded much more confident. Kyuhyun opened his mouth to protest but she immediately shut him up by carrying on.
“You flirt with my best friend but when I drop you hints you ignore them. What’s wrong with you? Do you not like me or something because if that’s the reason why you’re been ignoring me that’s completely wrong of you. You don’t even know me so who are you to judge me. Jeez, I’ve wasted so many years on chasing after you and only now I realise that you weren’t worth it,” she exploded. For the second time today, tears began to roll down her cheeks but she didn’t even notice it because of the rain that was falling. Her heart pounded heavily as she said those words. For once in his life, Kyuhyun was the one that was left speechless.
“You like me?” he finally spat out. He had major difficulty saying anything at this point. Yes, he knew he had ‘fangirls’ at their school but they always confessed directly to his face, Hyun Ae was the first girl that he knew who had never said anything and liked him from a distance. In a way, he was glad that she wasn’t like the others.
“Yes,” she managed to breathe out.
“Oh,” escaped his lips. She felt a tad annoyed at the fact that he couldn’t say anything more than that. She had literally poured out her heart for him and yet the only words he could say were ‘oh’.
“Is that all you can say?” she asked him. He shrugged and watched the raindrops hit the floor.
“Come on let’s go inside before you catch a cold. Your brother won’t be happy if you return with the flu,” he told her, realising that both of them weren’t sheltered from the rain and began to pull on her arm. She peeled his hands off her and struggled from his grip.
“No,” she said firmly.
“Please Hyun Ae,” he pleaded her.
“If you’re not going to give me an answer then I’m sorry, I don’t think I can do this anymore. Mianhe for wasting your time but I’m letting you go now,” she told him. Before he had any time to say anything she pulled him towards her and kissed him. He could feel the desperation and lust; he knew his answer.
“Goodbye Kyuhyun,” she told him as she pulled away.
“But Hyun Ae. I need to tell you-” he yelled after her.
“Mianhe. I’d rather not know, it’ll make it so much easier for me to leave,” she told him before running off with tears streaming down her face.
He finally knew what he felt for her and now she didn’t want to know. He finally knew that he liked her like she liked him but she would never know now unless he forced her to listen.
He felt like such an idiot. Hyun Ae could have been the one for him. They could have been a perfect match and he screwed it up just because he couldn’t read the signs regardless of how obvious they were. The tables were now turned. It was now his time to wait for her.

I hope you liked it. I'm sorry if it wasn't what you wanted >.<
