Wonyeon walked into school dead tired. Her thoughts kept on running back and forth to Lee Joon all night so she didn’t have much sleep, she was still thinking about him now. No matter what she did she couldn’t get his words out of her head. It still stung. He didn’t give her an explanation; it was simply “let’s break up”. The look on his face was blank, like he didn’t really care about her. What was she to him? Was she worth anything? She couldn’t help but think about that.

She was too caught up in her own thoughts that she didn’t even see the ‘wet floor’ sign and slipped. She expected a hard fall but surprisingly she was saved by someone. She looked up and saw boy with a huge smile on his face, which soon turned into a pout. She couldn’t figure out who he was; he looked extremely familiar but she just couldn’t put her finger on it. Come on Wonyeon, think. Who used to pout like that?, she thought to herself. It then clicked. Minwoo.

“Noona, you didn’t forget me already right?” he asked in deep voice. Her eyes widened at how much his voice had changed. He had changed in general.

“Of course not Minwoo,” she chuckled somewhat nervously and rubbed the back of her neck. “You’re changed so much dongsaeng,” she told him and ruffled his hair like she used to do.

He frowned and brushed it back into place. She didn’t seem realise why he had changed so much. Had she forgotten about the promise they had made? He slightly pouted but remembered Wonyeon was there. He had to show her his manlier side and show her that he was the guy she was waiting for.

“Noona, you’re still clumsy. How did you survive in New Yorkwith the busy streets?” he lightly and grinned.

Wonyeon pretended to look offended but laughed bitterly as she remembered when Lee Joon pushed her away from the incoming car. That was their first encounter. He remembered his words as well, “How can such a graceful looking girl be so clumsy?” which made her erupt in fits of laughter. He always had a way with words.

“Noona~,” Minwoo waved his hand in front of her face trying to get her out of her daze.

He had noticed she was very distracted but why. When she laughed it didn’t sound like her normal light hearted laugh either, and her eyes seemed empty. They seemed sad. Despite all of this, Minwoo couldn’t help but think that his noona had gotten even prettier over the years. He thought that was almost impossible as she was already incredibly beautiful. He loved her newly light brown dyed hair and how it framed her face nicely. Even her eyes that were empty looked pretty. It gave her an innocence that he had never really seen before.

“Minwoo-yah,” it was now her turn to snap him out of his trance.

He blinked and then smiled at her before pulling on her hand. Around them the girls gasped and began to mutter things about Wonyeon. He shot them a glare and they immediately stopped, except from one girl. Jang Sori, Minwoo’s stalker or, as she liked to call herself, number 1 fan. She walked up to Minwoo and gave him a flirty smile and gave Wonyeon a dirty look. She raised an eyebrow at the girl’s behaviour.

“Oppa, who is she?” she whined with an exaggerated pout. She ran her fingers up and down his arm suggestively. He glared at her and pulled her hand off and pushed her away.

“She’s my girlfriend,” was what he would have liked to say but he couldn’t. “Don’t touch her. If you insult her then you insult me, understood,” he told her threateningly, making sure that everyone around them heard. He had to protect her noona. That’s what boyfriend’s do isn’t it?

“Wonyeon,” she heard someone scream and then she was squashed in a hug by that person. She grinned and squeezed the girl back.

“Hyunah, I’ve missed you so much,” she squealed.

“I know. Dearest cousin, you don’t mind if I steal her away do you?” Hyunah asked Minwoo. He put on a smile and told her of course he didn’t mind. He did though. He wanted to have his noona all to himself but that was impossible. He had to play nice and share.

“You look sad. What’s up?” Hyunah questioned her when they were away from Minwoo. Wonyeon looked at Hyunah and faked her best smile but it didn’t work. She hated how Hyunah could see through her fake smiles; they’ve known each other for too long.

“When I was in New YorkI met a guy, Lee Joon was his name. I liked him and he liked me and we began dating. Then a couple of days ago he broke up with me for with no explanation. I guess my heart is still with him and I can’t move on,” she explained to her best friend. Hyunah gave her a sympathetic look and enveloped her in a hug.

“He must be stupid to realise his loss,” Hyunah told her as she rubbed her back soothingly.

In the corner of her eye she saw someone very familiar looking. Her eyes widened when she realised who it was. She must have been going crazy because there was no way he could have followed her to South Korea. Wonyeon rubbed her eyes thinking she was just going insane because she missed him but he was still there. His eyes found hers.

“Wonyeon-ah,” he called out. Hyunah pulled away from her best friend and studied this mysterious person. How did he know Wonyeon? And how come she hadn’t seen him before?

“Let’s go,” Wonyeon muttered and walked past Hyunah, trying to ignore Lee Joon.

He watched her as she walked past him. He knew it wouldn’t be easy to regain her heart but he had to try. He was missing her like crazy. He had to see her and she had to be his again.

“Who was that?” Hyunah asked her. Wonyeon sighed.

“That was Lee Joon, my ex boyfriend,” she told her, stressing the ex part. Hyunah stared at Wonyeon with huge eyes and dropped open slightly.

Wonyeon inwardly groaned as she hid from Lee Joon. What was he doing in South Koreaanyways? To take you back, she thought. She shook that out of head and slapped her face gently, making Minwoo look at her strangely as he sat opposite her. He frowned at his noona’s actions and grasped her hands so she couldn’t harm herself anymore. She looked up in surprise and gave Minwoo a weak smile.

“What are you doing noona?” he asked her with a troubled expression.

She shook him off and waved a hand to say that he should forget about it. He studied her even more. There was something bothering her but she wouldn’t tell her what it was. It was clear what was bothering her when that person sat down next to her.

She looked up to him in surprise and sadness before standing up to walk away but he grabbed her wrist. Minwoo clenched his fists but decided not to make a fuss yet. Wonyeon struggled as she tried to get out Joon’s grasp but he was too strong for her. She sighed as she gave up and turned the other way so she wouldn’t have to look at him. She was afraid that if she met his eyes she might fall in love with him all over again and that was the last thing she wanted to do as he broke her heart. The last thing she needed was to have her heart broken twice.

“Just hear me out Wonyeon-ah. Please,” he begged her. She couldn’t help but obey him. To her disliking, her heart had not listened to her head. She nodded hesitantly and followed him out.

“I miss you,” he paused and stared at her face trying to read her emotion. She bit her lip and tried not to show any emotions to him. She didn’t want him to take advantage of what she was feeling. The truth was that when he said those words her heart skipped a beat but she didn’t feel as excited as she thought she would have. Maybe she was moving on without knowing.

“I was scared of losing you and I thought you were cheating on me, I heard things from people and you were always busy, so I did it to save myself from embarrassment. When I saw how upset you were I realised that you was never cheating on me and I was a fool for thinking that you had. I’m sorry for causing you pain. I want a second chance Wonyeon-ah. Please give me a second chance,” he told her. She bit down on her lip harder and ran a hand through her light brown hair.

“Noona, don’t say yes,” she heard Minwoo shout out as she was about to give him her answer.

Joon glared at the younger boy as he strode up to him and Minwoo returned the glare. Wonyeon was frightened of what Minwoo could do to Joon. All her life she had seen him as a weak, little, cute boy but now he had a manlier side. He seemed stronger and fiercer. She was frightened of what Joon could do to Minwoo too. He worked out like crazy and she knew he was really strong. She had witnessed him fighting before and it wasn’t pretty.

“Minwoo-yah,” she whispered in a warning tone as she tried to get him to stop whatever he was about to do.

“You broke my Wonyeon’s heart. If you believed Wonyeon noona was cheating on you then that must mean that you don’t trust her enough, which means that you obviously don’t love her enough to pay attention to her. You say you want a second chance but do you really mean it. Do you not want her back because having a girlfriend means you’re not a loser?” Minwoo asked Joon in a low, threatening tone. Wonyeon pulled on Minwoo’s arm trying to get him away from Joon, but he shrugged her off.

“Of course I love her. I miss her like crazy so don’t you say those things about me,” Joon gritted his teeth and clenched his fists, readying himself for a fight.

“If that’s true then how come I don’t hear the sincerity in your voice? Don’t say things that you don’t mean,” Minwoo snarled at the older male before throwing a punch at him.

Wonyeon squealed in horror as the two guys began to fight. She ran over to them and tried to pull them apart but she ended up getting a bloody nose as Joon elbowed her in the face as he was throwing a punch at Minwoo. The two boys turned their attention to Wonyeon who was clutching her nose in pain. Minwoo wiped the side of his mouth and ran over to Wonyeon. He s his hand around her waist and began to walk out leaving Joon by himself.

“Don’t mess with me or my noona. Next time you’ll get more than a few bruises,” Minwoo threatened him.

“That was stupid,” Wonyeon muttered as they sat in the nurse’s office. He chuckled lowly and wiped the blood of her face.

“I had to protect you noona. I couldn’t watch you being taken advantage of. Without me, how would you live?” he . She rolled her eyes and punched him lightly on the shoulder.

“Jeesh, it’s my first day back and so much drama already. This has been fun,” she mumbled sarcastically. Minwoo grinned.

“Wherever you go there always seems to be some drama Wonyeon-ah,” he laughed. She cracked a smile and then stared at him. She never realised how handsome he had gotten. She knew why girls fell for him and worshipped him. He had a smile that was absolutely contagious. He was definitely not the same little Minwoo she had left when she went to America.

“When did my Minwoo grow up?” she mused aloud. Minwoo raised an eyebrow and then frowned; she had really forgotten the promise.

“You seriously don’t rememeber huh? When you left you made me promise that when you came back I won’t be a crybaby who depended on his noona anymore but instead a man who can stand up for himself and the people he loves,” Minwoo told her. Her doe like eyes widened. She couldn’t believe that she forgot. He smiled at her reaction, “Its okay. I forgive you. I can never be mad at you anyways.”

Wonyeon tilted her head to the side and gave him a questioning look.

“I can never be mad at you because I love you,” he whispered and turned away. He was afraid her reaction wouldn’t be the one he wanted.

“Minwoo-yah…” she trailed off and placed a hand on his cheek and made him look at her. He sighed.

“I’ll be patient noona. I can wait for you to feel the same way,” he told her with sadness. She couldn’t fight the smile that was forming on her face.

“You don’t have to wait Minwoo,” she replied. His eyes brightened and wrapped his arms around her neck pulling her closer to him.

“I would kiss you but you know, blood,” she scrunched up her nose cutely. Minwoo pouted. “But I still can do this,” she said and pecked his cheek lightly, wiping the pout of his face and replacing it with a grin.

This was probably one of the harder ones I had to write. No matter how many times I tried to finish it I couldn’t. I don’t know why. I think I just had no inspiration… Gaaah. I would have finished this earlier but I was procrastinating by watching ‘My Princess’. Omg it’s so cute. I’m in love with the soundtrack. Anyways, that’s enough of my ramblings.
