I stare at all the warm faces as they come close to me, hugging Kai and patting my shoulder. I wince as they pat my bruises but the happiness spreading throughout me is all I can focus on.

A tear escapes my eye and Tao stares at me, his jaw dropped.

“Eunji, why are you crying?!”

“God dammit D.O, I told you ‘Get Well Soon’ is only for if you’re sick!” Baekhyun complains, staring at me anxiously.

“IT’S NOT MY FAULT!” D.O screams, placing the cake down on the table.

I chuckle, another tear falling. “I’m not mad, I’m –“

“DON’T BE SAD!” Tao cries, slouching.

I roll my eyes. “I’m not sad, you doofus. I’m happy.”

“Ohhh….” They all chime, and I shake my head.

“Eat the cake then!” Chanyeol comes out of nowhere and tugs lightly at my wrist, slowly heading towards the cake.

I crutch after him and sit down in a chair that Suho pulls out for me.

“Haaaappy Birthday, to yo-“Chanyeol sings and Xiumin whacks him. “It’s not her birthday dumb !”

Chanyeol pouts, turning to Suho. “Hyung, tell him not to insult me!”

Suho sighs like a worn out father of three toddlers. “Xiumin, apologize.”

We all wait for Xiumin to apologize but instead he merongs and flings himself onto the couch, peeking over the top of it giggling.

Baekhyun pats Suho’s back. “Face it, hyung. No one listens to you.”

“I know I know, you don’t have to tell me again.” He sits in a seat across from mine, all the others plopping down at the table as well.

Chen holds a knife out to me from next to Suho. “Eat your cake, Eunji!”’

“Uh…” I stare at my dominant left hand. “I kind of don’t want to hold a knife that might accidentally cut up the one non-injured part of me.”

Kai chuckles and takes it, sitting down on the right side of me. He carefully cuts it, Baekhyun and Suho passing out slices to everyone. I notice no one touching their slices and turn to Kai. “You guys didn’t poison this right?”

He laughs, “No, they’re waiting for you to take your first bite.”

I raise an eyebrow, looking at them. “It’s not my birthday though-“
“Take your first bite, Eunji!” Chanyeol cheers, clapping.

I roll my eyes but take a bite, the light and fluffy cake dissolving along with the creamy icing. I smile in delight and swallow down another forkful, finishing off the slice quickly. Finished, I lean back and pat my full tummy.

“Was it good?” D.O asks, looking hopeful.

I nod, maybe too aggressively. “The best cake ever, thank you so much D.O!”

“Wait a second!” Chanyeol nudges Xiumin and whispers something, both of them suddenly hopping up. They sprint down the hall, giggling all the way there.

“Where are they going?” I turn to Kai, who shrugs helplessly.

I’m about to ask the other guys when Chanyeol and Xiumin come running back in, holding a huge box behind each of their backs.

“This is from EXO-K minus Kai!” Chanyeol announces, revealing the box from behind his back.

“Hey!” Kai protests, but Xiumin interrupts him.

“And this is from EXO-M! Each group went out and got something for you,” Xiumin grins and I can’t help but smile back.

I know I should feel grateful that they are so sweet to even get me a present in the first place, but something keeps nagging at my head…

“Why didn’t you just get me one present, since EXO is one?” I ask.

“Just be quiet and take the presents,” Kris advises me from his seat to my left and I nod, laughing.

“Let’s go over here!” Chanyeol skips off to the couch, patting the spot next to him and I struggle over there.

Stupid crutches, it’s going to take me an hour to get five feet with these stupid things.

The guys sit on the ground surrounding our feet and Xiumin sits on my right, him and Chanyeol eagerly bouncing up and down in their seat, practically throwing me off the couch.

“Calm down you guys, you’ll scare Eunji off,” Kris comments and I smile at him gratefully.

“Mine first!” Chanyeol shoves his box in front of me and I take it, not really having a choice.

“Ours first,” Baekhyun corrects him, and Chanyeol gestures as if to shoo Baekhyun away.

I chuckle and look at the huge box in my hands. “You guys seriously don’t need to give me a present, I-“

“OPEN IT!” Chanyeol instructs and I obediently throw the lid off the box, the guys laughing at my quick response to his shouting.

I pull at the tissue paper, revealing a bunch of smaller boxes inside. I pick one up, looking at the EXO-K members.

“Why are there a bunch of little gifts inside?”

“We couldn’t all decide on one thing,” D.O says, “so we all got one thing from each of us.”

“No fair!” Tao pouts. “We agreed on one gift from each group!”

Everyone ignores him.

“Open them!” Suho smiles.

I nod and open the one in my hand, revealing an Awkward Animal turtle.

GAH I’ve always wanted one of these! Oh my god IT’S SO FLUFFEH

“That’s from me,” Chanyeol grins.

I squeal and hug it. “Oh my god it’s so cute! Thank you, Chanyeol!”

He chuckles, and I tuck the stuffed animal under my arm. I pull out the next box and open it up, finding an apron with little cute cartoon cupcakes on it. Each cupcake is blushing and grinning and it looks so adorable.

“That’s  for when we make more cakes together,” D.O mentions and I thank him, putting the apron on Chanyeol.

“Why is this on me?” Chanyeol asks.

“I don’t want to put it on the ground!”

“So you put it on me?”

“Yep.”

He stares at the ground as if thinking of a crushing retort and suddenly breaks out into a huge grin, shrugging. “Okay then.”

Baekhyun gets me a flowy shirt with cute bacon on it and I laugh seeing it, thanking him.

“It’ll remind you of me!” He explains, happy.

I chuckle, looking at it. “It sure will.”

I open the next box and find an adorable hair clip with a smiling cloud on it.

“It’s for your hair,” Suho tells me and I giggle at his explaination.

“Thank you Suho, it’s adorable. Can you help put it in my hair?”

He grins and stands up, kneeling in front of me. “Sure, here?” He sweeps back my bangs and snaps the clip in place and I smile, touching the cute cloud. “Thank you so much, Suho.”

I take out the last box and open it, gasping when I look inside. It’s possibly the cutest ring I’ve ever seen. It has Pacman on it and little dots engraved around it on the thin band.

“That’s from me,” Sehun speaks up for the first time since I’ve come.

I look up at him and see a small smile playing on his lips, his eye twinkling.

“And look,” he holds out his fist, “I have the ghost.”

Sure enough, there’s a ring on his ring finger with the little Pacman ghost on it. I can’t help but smile, taking the ring and sliding it on my own ring finger.

“We’re matching,” I say, my stomach flipping slightly at the thought of Sehun and I have… well, couple rings, I guess.

“Yep, that’s the idea.” He responds, shrugging as if it’s no big deal. But the corners of his lips are slightly curled up and his eyes are showing something deeper.

I grin, staring at the adorable ring. “Thank you, Sehun.”

“Okay, enough sappiness.” Xiumin announces. “Our turn!”
He hands over his box to me and I place the big box from my lap on the ground, opening EXO-M’s gift. There’s a box inside of it and I open that up too, revealing a clamshell. There’s a little sticker that says ‘Open me! :D’ and I laugh, doing as the box instructs.

Inside is an anchor necklace and I grin, seeing the jewelry.

“It’s so pretty, oh my god thank you so much…” I mumble, staring at it.

“It matches your bracelet.” A voice pipes up and I look up, Luhan blinking at me.

My gaze falls down to my wrist where my anchor bracelet is lying like always, and reality hits me as I realize what I probably should have realized at Happy Camp.

I’ve been wearing a bracelet that Luhan gave me almost every single day.

And he got me a necklace to match it.

“It was Luhan’s idea,” Lay mentions, “He said it looked like your bracelet or something.”

I nod, staring at the necklace.

I don’t really know whether to feel touched or awkward so I think I’m just going to stare at this a bit more, now.

“Here,” Luhan stands up, walking to the backside of the couch. “Give it to me.”

He takes the box from me and loosens the necklace from its hold and suddenly my hair’s being swept onto my shoulder and I shiver as Luhan’s fingers brush my neck.

“Hold your hair,” He says softly, and I nod, lifting my hair up. He wraps his arms around my neck, exchanging one side of the chain to the other as he clasps the hook in place.

“It looks pretty,” Chen observes, nodding.

“There you go!” Luhan chirps, returning to his seat on the ground.

“Thank you for the gifts,” I say to them, touched.

“I hope you’re injuries get better quickly!” Chanyeol smiles sweetly and I can’t help but smile back.

I touch the anchor with my fingers, my heart warming up. They all got me presents when they didn’t have to. And it seems like each one of them put thought into it.

I have a feeling I’m going to like living here more than my old home.
