Wendy is walking towards nowhere in particular. She can't help but notice Rosé avoiding her. It isn't very obvious, but it's in the younger's subtle actions, and she knows her too well.

How she avoids looking into her eyes, how she always turns around if they ever cross paths, how she avoids being alone with her in a single room.

And she doesn't like this one bit.

She's used to being so close with each other, they told each other everything but for some reason that chipmunk is running away from her.

They're growing apart.

I've to fix things, but why's she being like this?

But Rosé is not the only one avoiding someone, Wendy herself has been trying so hard to avoid a certain someone.

She never imagined that Seulgi would be working here and that too at such a high position. They always see each other either while shooting or some sort of a meeting.

Wendy felt guilty because she could never say anything in the meetings with Seulgi, she could barely even look up. The pressure was always on Rosé and knowing how the latter is, she felt like it was all her fault.

Well, it is.

She's just walking to calm herself down, with all this work she hasn't been able to do that. And Seulgi being here just adds to her problem.

Her mind is in a mixed-up state right now, some part of her says that she wants to talk to Seul, and the other,

The other part is afraid.

Afraid of hearing what the other will say, afraid that the person who once was her best friend, would hate her, afraid that it'll all rush back in, everything that happened 12 years ago.

Afraid that she'll see someone else too.

"Okay and that's a wrap." Taehyung says with the largest grin ever.

Rosé has been working hard these past few days. They've completed their first series with a boy group of the company and they're very excited to see how it turns out.

It's been 2 and a half weeks since she met Kim Jennie and she's only seen her once or twice since then. Every time the woman was either ignoring her or being mean to her.

She recalls how she called out to her in the hallway and waved to her, but the latter just rolled her eyes and went away. Her hand was just left hanging, and boy was it embarrassing.

She has no idea why she still keeps on waving and trying to talk and trying to find her, even though the other clearly is a and doesn't want anything to do with Rosé.

Maybe it's because she made a promise.

I promise, I won't let you change.

She can't break her promise. She tells herself that, that's why she tries to see that Kim Jennie all the time.

See if she's okay.

If she's laughing like she did that day.

If she's happy.

"Guys now that this is complete, do you all wanna go out, maybe get drinks?"

Sana chirps excitedly, laughing hard at something Dahyun said.

"Yeah, please I haven't had any fun since I came here." Hyunjin huffs.

They all start looking at Wendy, who's oblivious to that. But as soon as she sees all of them, she gets startled.

"Okay okay, you don't have to stare at me like that, we'll go out tonight." Wendy raises her hands in defeat.

"So we'll meet up at the entrance at 8.30?" Momo asks, to which they all nod.

"Guys I don't wanna go, I'm not in the mood." Jin forces a smile. And he gets stares as replies. He, along with Sana, are supposed to be party-lovers not 'party-avoiders'.

"I'll get him." Sana winks. Rosé always knew the both were close and if Sana says she'll do something, she'll do it.

They all go out of the set towards their rooms, and as usual, Rosé tries to avoid staying behind with Wendy.

Until she calls her.

"Could you uhm stay back, chippie? I- these ideas, I can't uhh figure this out."

Rosé still softens up upon hearing the sweet endearment.

"You know, tomorrow we'll finally step into our own actual real office, it'll be sooo gooood, yayyy." Wendy ran around the room and jumped.

Rosé was sitting on the bed, thinking about how tomorrow would be.

"Heyyyy, aren't you happpyy~~"  Wendy sang excitedly, while jumping on the bed and resting her head on Rosé's lap.

Rosé gently played with the other's hair, twirling a long brown strand of hair along her forefinger.

"What are you thinking about little girl?"

"Wha- I'm not that little Wendy! Besides, despite being so old, you're still shorter." Rosé giggled, showing the little sign with her forefinger and thumb.

Wendy sat up and smacked the top of her head, then settled down again on the other's lap.

They stayed silent for a while.

"It'll be fine, okay? Stop stressing." Wendy showed the cutest grin while scrunching her nose.

Rosé is relieved upon hearing that, but it doesn't calm her down entirely.

It seemed as if Wendy noticed that, so she sat up and just looked at Rosé, pulling her out of her trance.

"What is there something on my face?" Rosé touched her face frantically, about to get up to go in front of the mirror, when Wendy grabbed her hand.

She pinched her cheeks while giggling. "You know you look like a chipmunk."

"Hey! I do not!"

"Awww, so cute my little chipmunk, are you angwwy?"

Rosé just looked away and pretended she was angry, but inside she was happy, all her worries gone.

Chapter 38: Wow, what sad news, I really had hope for this story. I mean, even if things didn't turn out the way I expected (Like Joohyun confronting Seungwan the first moment he saw her about the daughter she just took away and Joohyun misses so much or the revelation of Joy's supposed other relative where she only discovers that she didn't really have a father but a mother?) And of course, even though Joohyun knew that Seulgi was back in contact with Seungwan, she never confronted either of them about the whereabouts of her other daughter, which makes us wonder what kind of parents Joohyun and Seungwan are who don't bother to look for or finally reveal the truth to Joy and why does Seulgi continue to collude with both sides when she considers her niece so much?
Despite everything, what really saddens me is that despite everything, the flashbacks to their past were without a doubt the best part of the story, I really kept waiting for more of them. I don't know if you intend to go back to this story and rewrite it, but I would particularly love it if you could show us their past in full. I think exploring what you've already done here would be a way of reusing this story that had so much to show.

Anyway, thank you for everything so far, I hope you are well and come back soon, author-nim!

Chapter 38: Oh i see the problem now. The seulreners want more seulrene moments.

Though i've always thought this is wenrene fic with how often Wendy's pov appears. But i agree that the story's really dragging. And so many side character povs.

I always look up wenrene tags coz that's all i'm interested in and this story was really promising. But i suggest if you're writing a wenrene fic, just use wenrene tag and don't add seulrene and vice versa if you're writing a seulrene fic to avoid being accused of clickbaiting and confusion.

Thank you for your work author! Please keep on writing.

Chapter 37: Heavy seulrener here and yes the story is dragging. This story is similar to wenseulrene fic titled 'Unrequited' in terms of the structure where it's clearly a seulrene fic with wendy as the 'heartbreaker' but for some reason the pov heavily came from wendy perspective. I think other readers already mentioned it out: Seulrene is clearly still going strong in this fic but for some reason, they have less moments compares to Seulgi with Lisa. This wenrene/seulrene bait & switch is clearly not working because now people started to criticize Irene, Seulgi and Wendy characters (similar with that fic 'Unrequited') and it's not even because they don't understand the concept of flawed characters, it's just they're getting tired of the story and the characters. I just don't get why most wenseulrene fics authors always have the same concepts and settings when they wrote their dynamics and it made me wonder if they really see each individual irl like that, because let's be real here, yes these are fictional characters, but they are real person fictions (rpf) characters. Even in kdramas, triangle loves don't always have the same dynamics. It's like these fics' authors are actually on one camp, but they pretend to care about the third person (in this case wendy) so that people would think that these authors actually like both camps. Might as well make it a polymorph relationship.

Chapter 37: Chapter 37: Well I'm still reading this though the story is undoubtedly dragging its heels before moving a fraction of an inch for whatever plot there is. I get that the characters are still stuck in some of their past, but it doesn't mean that the story should be too. Stuck at a snail pace, I mean. The Joohyun and Wendy arc has the two agonizing every now and then in addition to the Joy issue keeping this story going in circles. I'm interested enough to keep on reading this but something has got to happen soon and change the pace to get things moving. The Seulgi and Wendy talk finally happened, but any attempts of figuring out how to approach Wendy and Joohyun closure as well getting Joy known as the missing child is not even on the horizon. I've also not seen a solid Seulrene tidbit here that is solely about them and not a segway to enter another Wenrene flashback and Wenrene agenda. I get that this story is about past Wenrene and daughter Joy, but I think there has been more Lisa-centric chapters/POVs than a Seulgi one that is not related to past Wenrene. Seulrene doesn't even shine that much other than small stolen moments here and there.

Chapter 33: What I don't get about this whole thing is why are they talking around Irene instead of just telling her the truth? This will all blow up in all of their faces once Irene finds out that Joy is her kid and that Seulgi is keeping things from her. It's bordering stupidity at this point. Seulgi is well aware of how devastated Irene was when Wendy left with their kid and now that said kid is back, instead of telling her outright, she goes and hides it from her. I mean who does that? There's no justification as to why she's doing what she's doing at this point. And not just Seulgi even, the same goes for Wendy. She has every opportunity at this point to stop beating around the bush and get her daughter and Irene to meet. But she keeps delaying things.

I don't even get Irene's reaction when she first met Wendy again either. I'd have been angry on the spot and demand to see my child. Why is she so passive?

Still curious to see how this runs through but I'm also getting frustrated at how this is turning out.

Chapter 32: First thought comes to mind when the revelation happened like- what the hell was Irene thinking volunteering for that? Everything became SO messed up after that. I don't even know what to say
