Chapter 18
[DISCONTINUED] familyRosé didn't know what the hell was going on in her mind.
But after hearing what has been happening with Jennie, she was frustrated. She wanted to help her somehow.
So there she is.
The innocent and dumb Rosé, who can't even talk is standing in front of the CEO, God knows saying what. And what's even more appalling is she brought Jennie with her, that Ji-Hoon guy wouldn't leave an opportunity to insult the girl.
But she can't back out now.
"Look all I'm saying is why can't we give it a try?" She musters all her courage, clutching onto Jennie's hand tight.
She wonders why the girl even agreed to come with her.
(She might or might not have dragged her here.)
"I haven't read into anything but if Rosé is saying something, she means it, Ji-Hoon. What's the harm?" She's grateful for Wendy to always back her up.
She's grateful of heaving her as a sister.
"No, Wendy, you don't understand what's been happening. And I'm sure Chaeyoung doesn't-"
"Sir, I understand everything." Rosé is getting impatient now. Her anger is fueling up.
"It'll just be one photoshoot, I'll attend to it myself. Besides Jennie has been the face of the company, for what, 2 years? 3 years? You can't just exclude her from the project, sir."
Ji-Hoon scratches his chin, probably thinking about the outcomes.
"But she needs to be promoting something." He mutters out.
I didn't think about that. Dumb Rosé.
"She'll land a job, soon." Rosé just says it for the sake of saying it. She has no idea how it's going to happen. She looks at Jennie again.
The said girl still looking down. This is not like the Jennie she knows. This Jennie seems weak.
Much like the first time they'd met.
"I trust Chaeyoung too. I've seen her sincerity and we all know how sincere Jennie is. I want to give it a chance, as long as Jennie is comfortable with it." Ms. Kang speaks, facing Ji-Hoon. Rosé is suprised at the compliments coming from someone she thought hated her, but she's grateful nonetheless. "Jennie, are you ready to be back on screen?" Ms. Kang's voice and expression have softened now.
It could be seen she cares about Jennie and her well-being.
Rosé wonders why Ms. Kang isn't the CEO instead.
"I-I uhh it's-" Jennie stutters.
"We'll make it work." Rosé tightens her grip and softly mumbles. Jennie rubs her thumb on Rosé's hand. She takes it as her cue. "Yes, she is. Thankyou so much Ms. Kang."
"Please, Chaeyoung. You make me look so old, stop with the Ms. Kang already. My name's actually Seulgi, in case you didn't notice." Seulgi chuckles.
Maybe she doesn't hate me, after all.
From her peripheral vision, she sees Wendy giggle a little, but she almost instantly stops.
Rosé knows why.
"Thanks, Seulgi. So what do you think, sir?"
Ji-Hoon is still busy thinking, if this guy disagrees now, she'll probably shout or something. But what he says suprises Rosé.
"It's been 5 years. I've seen Jennie act for 5 years. You're like my little sister, you know that, right?" He stops to glance at Jennie, who finally looks up. "But every artist here is like my family and I can't risk thier work." He looks down.
The next course of events suprise Rosé, leaving hanging.
"Oppa, trust me." Jennie speaks timidly. She takes Ji-Hoon's hands and speaks in a small volume. "Please."
They're closer than I thought.
Rosé waits for an answer while her hands start sweating. What if the CEO still denied and she couldn't do anything to help Jennie. The girl would just keep on
