Chapter 33
[DISCONTINUED] familyWendy had gotten up from the swing because she thought Seulgi would need another hug. And she was right.
As soon as Wendy saw the tears, she rushed to pull the girl in her arms.
"I miss my team, Wendy."
Wendy doesn't realise but some tears escape her eyes too.
Even though they teased each other, Seulgi and her siblings were always there for each other and it hurts to see Seulgi like this.
And to think that just a few moments ago Wendy was giving this woman a lecture on how to be a good mother.
Wendy is truly a monster.
How bad must have Seulgi felt when she heard all that. She must have felt like she failed her unnie.
Just why the does Wendy always have to be the philosopher. If she loved teaching that much, she should have become a teacher. Wendy hates herself for all she said.
Seulgi calms down after a bit and pulls away. Wendy grabs her arms to let her know that she means what she's going to say now.
"Seulgi, you're so so brave. When I left you, you were still a baby." Wendy giggles and Seulgi smiles. "To take up that responsibility, it's not a small thing. You've really matured. You're the best Yeri could ever have and I'm sure Taeyeon unnie is very very proud. You get that?"
Seulgi nods and looks at the sky. "I hope so." She glances at Wendy as if she's asking for permission for something.
"Talk to her." Wendy looks at the sky too.
Seulgi hesitates but does speak. "U-unnie? You're...you're watching us, right? Yeri, she's growing into a beautiful woman. You know....you know you can scold me if I do something wrong. I'm still your baby bear unnie. I'll give all my love to Yeri and Joohyun loves her like her own daughter. I just hope you're happy, wherever you are."
Wendy didn't realise when tears started flowing. And when Seulgi faces Wendy again, she looks at her like she's grown two heads.
"You're crying?" Seulgi's voice is filled with confusion and amusement, mostly the latter.
"Pfft....no."
Seulgi just starts laughing. "Aww....I made Wannie cry. Wannie is a crybaby~"
And she keeps repeating the last sentence, much to Wendy's annoyance.
"Yah! Stop!"
Seulgi starts laughing even louder.
They're now moving out of the park, towards the entrance again. It's too late and Wendy would love to have done sleep. But she remembers something as they're walking side by side.
"Hey....did something happen? I mean...with Joohyun?"
She's still very hesitant in talking about this, but she figures Seulgi needs to talk about it to someone. But when Seulgi looks at her and sighs as she shakes her head a little, Wendy almost feels like she's being mocked.
"I'm sorry....it's just that she...she said sorry earlier." Wendy feels like she shouldn't be saying all this. "I- she was burning up, so I-I tried to get the fever down and cleaned the place a bit....I left immidiately after."
"I get it. You don't have to.....feel bad or anything. I shouldn't have left her in that condition, you were right. And thankyou....for...for being there with her. You know how grumpy she gets."
Oh, Wendy knows.
Irene wouldn't listen to anyone when she's sick. And she would become a baby at that time. Well, she always acted like a baby with Wendy.
Wendy gives a knowing look to Seulgi who chuckles, Wendy follows.
"I think......I- she needs space right now. So I-I left."
Seulgi just looks down and she looks scared.
If past Wendy were to time travel and talk to the current Wendy she would surely have a heartattack or two. Because she never expected her to say the words she's about to.
"All she needs right now, is you, Seul."
She never expected to tell someone that Joohyun needs them. She just wanted to be the one Joohyun needs, the one that's enough for her, at least until she dies.
She just never expected things to happen the way they did.
Wendy looks at Seulgi smiling and tries to forget the little scar on her heart. Wendy can't let Seulgi go now. She's already lost too many important people. She won't make the mistake again.
"Hey, uhh...I was wondering....if you know you'd like to hang out? Umm like-"
"You asking me out? I'm so sorry honey-"
"Yahh!" Seulgi laughs and holds her ears as she says sorry without any sound. It was crazy now easily they were talking now, like the 12 years never passed. But this was who they were. Wendy and Seulgi. They were never one to fight, they were just incapable of it. But Wendy knew not everything is fixed, or will ever be fixed.
"Look, Seul. I know I can never be the same best friend you had back then, but...I'd at least like to know about your life. These 12 years, alot happened and- I mean if course you can say no, it's obviously going to be awkward at first, but I don't want it to be like that forever. But if you're still mad at me or-"
"You're gonna keep rambling or tell me where we're meeting?"
---
The headache Lisa has just shouts 'don't ever drink again, you dumb ing .'
And she will obey that.
She lazily saunters out of her cozy bed, obviously not wanting to get up. But her best friend just has to remind her to have some medicine and food. She didn't think the girl would just barge in there.
"Go have a bath, do I need to do that too?" Rosé (actually, her mom) growls.
"Just how....how the did you open that locked door?"
"I literally know the CEO, who by the way knows that we're best friends." Rosé huffs and pushes Lisa into the washroom.
"Hey! What if someone else was there, you know~~" Lisa wiggles her eyebrows suggestively, peeking her head out from the washroom. Rosé puts her hands on her waist and she really looks like Lisa's mother right now. Lisa stifles her laughter.
"We'll have a nice little chat once you are done Lalisa."
Lisa feels shivers run down her body.
---
Rosé just aksed her to come to the café and the girl is missing now. Lisa sighs as she takes in her daily dose of caffeine. When she returns to the table she sees Sana sitting there with an apologetic smile and oh, she remembers what happened.
"Lisa just calm down, you're already drunk." Sana took the glass from her hand and put it at the table. To be honest, the taste didn't even feel like alcohol anymore, it was just..something, and Lisa is thankful that glass was snatched from her.
Sana was way too close to her. She might have been drunk and alot of things were blurry, but she could even feel Sana's breath at this point.
They both had to be drunk.
"If I don't, then you do." Lisa picked the glass on the tableand placed it in front of Sana. "Come on, drink up."
Sana suprisingly obeyed cause as far as Lisa's mind would allow her, she didn't saw Sana drink the whole night. Maybe she wanted to get drunk now.
Lisa didn't question as Sana ordered one more glass, then one more, then another. So it was safe to say they both were drunk.
Glasses were discarded now.
Lisa didn't realise when they were too close to each other and talking about the things that they'd never talk to anyone about.
"My friend is in love with me."
The confession was quiet and even though Lisa was drunk, she understood. She was in no mood to sleep, so she tried her best to understand and speak.
"And.....let me...guess...you're not?" Sana only nodded and a moment later her face was on the table, and Lisa saw her normal friend, whining Sana.
Lisa didn't think too much about her situation.
This wasn't a time to solve problems.
Lisa reasoned she should also talk about her problems, if they're just throwing out confessions in the air.
"I like my friend......like that."
Sana's head snapped so hard to her direction, she was afraid it might come off.
"She's in a relationship and they're like one of those....the..the ones that you'd never expect to break up. I mean they're already 4 years....in, it's thier fifth...."
Lisa realised she was just rambling and stopped. Sana's gaze never left Lisa, and she had that 'pity' look, as if she's any better.
"Don't look at me like that."
"Like what?" Sana shifted in her seat, so now her whole body is facing Lisa, who just stiffened in her place, not facing the other.
Lisa shaked her head and put it down. "We're both ing doomed."
Sana just sighed. "We're hopeless."
Sana's hand landed on Lisa's thigh. The touch made Lisa face her too, thier faces now inches apart. Nobody in that room could deny the tension there. There was only three people there, including the bartender.
Lisa glanced at him for a second and he seemed to realise as he quickly made his way out in small steps.
Lisa had no idea what was happening, or what would happen, but whatever it was, Lisa promised herself she wouldn't care.
Sana picked up another glass and chugged it down in one go. She her lips later and for some reason Lisa couldn't look anywhere else.
Where was this even coming from?
She wassure there was no feelings there, expect for heartbreak. It was all about the hormones.
Maybe it was the hormones or maybe it was the promise Lisa made to herself that made her do what she did. She couldn't ignore it anymore.
Lisa almost jumped on the other, her hands falling right into place on her jaw. She crashed her lips on the pink ones in front of her and Sana returned the kiss.
Well clearly, BOTH of them were out of it.
Sana pulled out for a breath and Lisa tool the time to look at her face, there was just some uncertainty there.
"Lisa I-"
"Forget about it, about everything. Just kiss me."
Why was Lisa doing that? It was just the alcohol talking.
Oh, they were really doomed now.
Just like that with three words, Sana's lips are back on hers. The girl tastes of nothing other than alcohol, much to Lisa's dismay. Lisa's hands start roaming around. They quickly find thier way under her thin t-shirt, on her back.
She feels one of Sana's hand move up and down on her thigh and God, she can't wait anymore. In a rushed movement of trying to take Sana's t-shirt off, they both come to a halt on hearing a voice.
"No, the song-"
It was Seulgi.
Seulgi who was now staring at them.
Lisa's hands retract to her side as fast as they could. Why does she feel wrong, when she isn't even doing anything wrong.
You can't cheat on a crush.
Nobody said anything and the silence was deafening. Lisa looked at Sana, who just seemed to come to her senses.
"Oh my god, we- we're so sorry-"
"No, no, just, it's okay." Sana was panicking, it clear from her voice. She was replying
