Irene looks.....beautiful.

Well, that's not something unusual. Her room as expected is a huge mess.

Wendy moves quickly, not wanting to do anything more than she's supposed to. Quickly, but quietly. She can't dare to let Joohyun wake up, she doesn't know what she'd do if the sleeping beauty did wake up. She doesn't even know what she wants to say to her.

(She actually does.)

Wendy quickly picks stuff up from here and there making sure not to look at anything personal. After some time everything seemed in it's place.

Guess there's only one thing to do now.

She sighs as she moves towards Joohyun. She just wants to make sure the woman is okay and is sleeping peacefully. Back in thier days, whenever Irene was sick she could only ever fall asleep with someone, and that someone was always Wendy.

Something about being warm.

Wendy wonders if Seulgi keeps her warm.

She quietly sits on the floor right next to where Joohyun is sleeping. And she suddenly doesn't know what to do. She just sits there, looking at her past.

She doesn't know how but tears quickly threaten to spill out of her eyes, she blinks quickly in an attempt to stop them. That's something she learned from Irene.

Where are all these emotions coming from? It's beem 12 years, over a decade. Joohyun has moved on, and happy with her life, Wendy has moved on. More importantly, Wendy chose this, years ago. She wouldn't regret it now, would she?

As she's looking at her, her sight suddenly falls on her hand, her watch. It was already 12.10. Seulgi might arrive anytime soon, though she doubts it. She decides to leave, not really fulfilling her purpose of coming here.

What was it, exactly?

To cuddle with her, cuddle with Seulgi's girlfriend?

Funny how it still seems weird to say that.

Her thoughts come to a halt as she jerks up a bit. Joohyun moves slightly, facing her now. But her eyes are still closed.

"Seulgi-yahh......" Joohyun mumbles from her sleep, she definitely isn't seeing a dream and is not sleep talking. At least she didn't do that at that time. Wendy figures the other is just too tired to open her eyes. And it's good that way.

Wendy also can't say anything, because Joohyun will be able to tell immediately. And the last thing she wants is for her to take any stress right now.

She moves again, manages to get up this time but as soon as she starts to move a hand lands on hers.

Joohyun's.

She winces at the touch. She convinces herself she didn't miss it too much. She's too busy to notice a fact, all her memories clouding her. But when she does though, she's alarmed.

Joohyun is burning.

Even her hand is at such a high temperature. Wendy's features soon sport a very concerned look. She has to do something and she has to do it quick.

Joohyun turns again. This time faces the other way as Wendy sighs in relief. The panic in her rises again though as Joohyun takes her hand and wraps it around her waist. Wendy tries not to put it on her bare skin, the little which shows as her baggy t-shirt is lifted up due to her sleeping position. She moves it a little, maybe she applied a little too much force though, as Joohyun chuckles.

"You're...soo.....warm today..." Joohyun says in her sleepy voice. Wendy doesn't know how to feel, it was normal for her to hear that. But the older woman still remembers her touch, well not that, but her warmth. Joohyun giggles again. "You are....my bear right?"

, , .

This feels so wrong, on so many levels. Joohyun thinks she's Seulgi, of course she would. She even questioned her if she is, but she can't speak now or detach her hand, she would surely open her eyes and see. She also has to do something for Joohyun's fever to drop. She figures she'll get up and do something in a while.

"I'm....sorryy, Seulgi-yah..." Joohyun still sounds like she's half asleep, doesn't know what she's saying, but she does. Joohyun always does.

But the apology, Wendy mulls for a while and the only normal time when someone says sorry is if they did something wrong.

Or they had a fight.

Maybe that's why Seulgi was almost sulking, drinking so much. Dancing to the point where her legs would give out.

She still uses dancing to take it all out.

Now Wendy feels even more wrong, she's disrupting an important moment between the two. Whatever history she has with Irene, she has no right to do anything that's beyond her limits.

That's Seulgi's girlfriend.

Joohyun takes her other hand and sets it on the bottom, intertwining thier fingers. And just then is when she notices, the ring. It's definitely the one Seulgi keeps fidgeting with.

It's not just her girlfriend. It's her fiancée.

"I...need it today....the warmth....I missed it." Wendy feels like Joohyun is talking to her. It all feels too unreal. Would Joohyun ever say this to her? That she missed her?

"Don't leave like that again, ever. Okay?"

Tears fall out.

Chapter 38: Wow, what sad news, I really had hope for this story. I mean, even if things didn't turn out the way I expected (Like Joohyun confronting Seungwan the first moment he saw her about the daughter she just took away and Joohyun misses so much or the revelation of Joy's supposed other relative where she only discovers that she didn't really have a father but a mother?) And of course, even though Joohyun knew that Seulgi was back in contact with Seungwan, she never confronted either of them about the whereabouts of her other daughter, which makes us wonder what kind of parents Joohyun and Seungwan are who don't bother to look for or finally reveal the truth to Joy and why does Seulgi continue to collude with both sides when she considers her niece so much?
Despite everything, what really saddens me is that despite everything, the flashbacks to their past were without a doubt the best part of the story, I really kept waiting for more of them. I don't know if you intend to go back to this story and rewrite it, but I would particularly love it if you could show us their past in full. I think exploring what you've already done here would be a way of reusing this story that had so much to show.

Anyway, thank you for everything so far, I hope you are well and come back soon, author-nim!

Chapter 38: Oh i see the problem now. The seulreners want more seulrene moments.

Though i've always thought this is wenrene fic with how often Wendy's pov appears. But i agree that the story's really dragging. And so many side character povs.

I always look up wenrene tags coz that's all i'm interested in and this story was really promising. But i suggest if you're writing a wenrene fic, just use wenrene tag and don't add seulrene and vice versa if you're writing a seulrene fic to avoid being accused of clickbaiting and confusion.

Thank you for your work author! Please keep on writing.

Chapter 37: Heavy seulrener here and yes the story is dragging. This story is similar to wenseulrene fic titled 'Unrequited' in terms of the structure where it's clearly a seulrene fic with wendy as the 'heartbreaker' but for some reason the pov heavily came from wendy perspective. I think other readers already mentioned it out: Seulrene is clearly still going strong in this fic but for some reason, they have less moments compares to Seulgi with Lisa. This wenrene/seulrene bait & switch is clearly not working because now people started to criticize Irene, Seulgi and Wendy characters (similar with that fic 'Unrequited') and it's not even because they don't understand the concept of flawed characters, it's just they're getting tired of the story and the characters. I just don't get why most wenseulrene fics authors always have the same concepts and settings when they wrote their dynamics and it made me wonder if they really see each individual irl like that, because let's be real here, yes these are fictional characters, but they are real person fictions (rpf) characters. Even in kdramas, triangle loves don't always have the same dynamics. It's like these fics' authors are actually on one camp, but they pretend to care about the third person (in this case wendy) so that people would think that these authors actually like both camps. Might as well make it a polymorph relationship.

Chapter 37: Chapter 37: Well I'm still reading this though the story is undoubtedly dragging its heels before moving a fraction of an inch for whatever plot there is. I get that the characters are still stuck in some of their past, but it doesn't mean that the story should be too. Stuck at a snail pace, I mean. The Joohyun and Wendy arc has the two agonizing every now and then in addition to the Joy issue keeping this story going in circles. I'm interested enough to keep on reading this but something has got to happen soon and change the pace to get things moving. The Seulgi and Wendy talk finally happened, but any attempts of figuring out how to approach Wendy and Joohyun closure as well getting Joy known as the missing child is not even on the horizon. I've also not seen a solid Seulrene tidbit here that is solely about them and not a segway to enter another Wenrene flashback and Wenrene agenda. I get that this story is about past Wenrene and daughter Joy, but I think there has been more Lisa-centric chapters/POVs than a Seulgi one that is not related to past Wenrene. Seulrene doesn't even shine that much other than small stolen moments here and there.

Chapter 33: What I don't get about this whole thing is why are they talking around Irene instead of just telling her the truth? This will all blow up in all of their faces once Irene finds out that Joy is her kid and that Seulgi is keeping things from her. It's bordering stupidity at this point. Seulgi is well aware of how devastated Irene was when Wendy left with their kid and now that said kid is back, instead of telling her outright, she goes and hides it from her. I mean who does that? There's no justification as to why she's doing what she's doing at this point. And not just Seulgi even, the same goes for Wendy. She has every opportunity at this point to stop beating around the bush and get her daughter and Irene to meet. But she keeps delaying things.

I don't even get Irene's reaction when she first met Wendy again either. I'd have been angry on the spot and demand to see my child. Why is she so passive?

Still curious to see how this runs through but I'm also getting frustrated at how this is turning out.

Chapter 32: First thought comes to mind when the revelation happened like- what the hell was Irene thinking volunteering for that? Everything became SO messed up after that. I don't even know what to say
