Chapter 24
[DISCONTINUED] familySeulgi watched a little 3 year old Sooyoung fall on the sand in the playing pit and she also watched Wendy run inside the pit, not caring about the glares and curses of the other parents.
She felt like Wendy would fight the world for her little daughter.
And honestly who wouldn't.
Seulgi giggled as Wendy made her way back right next to Seulgi, her shirt completely covered with sand now.
"Yah! Instead of laughing you could help me!" Wendy scowled, trying to Sacre Seulgi but how could Wendy ever look scary to anyone?
Seulgi laughed even more, earning smacks from the other.
They settled down on a bench nearby where little Sooyoung can be in view, Wendy watched her after every single sentence she said.
"You know she's not that small anymore. You don't need to worry that much." Seulgi was just trying to make sure that her best friend isn't too worried about her daughter.
"I know, it's just that......she looks so.....so fragile to me." Wendy glanced at Sooyoung again. And Seulgi saw Sooyoung wave her tiny little hands to show her little castle that she made on the sand.
Seulgi understood what Wendy meant. Sooyoung wasn't quick like the other children her age. She was late in talking and the same with walking. Wendy and Irene unnie also made a couple of visits to different doctor, worried there's something wrong. Fortunately, nothing was wrong, Sooyoung was just afraid and once she opened up she would do all the stuff that the other children did.
She tapped Wendy on the shoulder and shot a bright grin to her.
An idea just popped in her mind.
She waited for some time so Wendy's mood would be better again to propose her idea. She was too excited for it.
After a few more worried glances and calls to Sooyoung, Wendy finally seemed a bit relaxed but still glanced at the little one from time to time.
Seulgi is so proud of Wendy.
No matter how hard she tried she could never ever be a mom, not at this early age at least.
"You know I'll be like the cool aunt she'll have." Seulgi finally said what was on her mind for so long. She tried to give a smug smile, but she knew she wasn't good at that business.
"You can teach her how to walk and how to ride a bicycle and stuff but I'll teach her the cool things." Seulgi winked (tried to).
Wendy laughed hysterically pointing at her eye. "You can't even wink!" And more cackles were heard.
Seulgi didn't even flinch. She was determined to be 'the cool aunt', well she wasn't that cool herself but whatever.
"Laugh all you want madam. I'll teach her how to party," She earned glares that could kill, Wendy is not Seulgi's best friend right now, she's only Sooyoung's mother. Seulgi didn't stop, her mind full with ideas. "And...and we'll gossip about how old you and unnie are and don't know any trends, we'll tease you a lot, oh and maybe I'll also teach her how to drive a car, like how I taught you and...and I'd teach her how to take risks, I won't let her be a coward."
Seulgi finally stopped speaking to take a breath. When she looked back up at Wendy her gaze her softened and she wondered if she had said too much that Wendy had lost it because why would the caring mother see Seulgi, who just said some stuff that is definitely not so pure (partying, really?), with love oozing out of her eyes.
She checked Wendy's forehead just in case and becomes the usual timid Seulgi. "I'm s-sorry. That was weird, risks are not that good. I think living safe is bette-"
Wendy stopped her from ranting about a completely unrelated thing.
"You'd be a cool aunt, Seulgi."
"Reallly?!" Seulgi stopped herself from getting excited and tried to get that smug smile again. "I know right. Hellll yeahh! I'm cool!"
"But I won't trust you to teach her how to drive, you barely taught me, remember how we crashed into the trees the first time you tried to 'teach' me."
"What happened Seulgi? Is there something wrong?"
Joy shakes her shoulder vehemently to remind her where she is.
She looks at Sooyoung's face and tries to compare that little cute girl to this beautiful and absolutely gorgeous woman.
She's so beautiful.
She doesn't know when it happens but tears start falling from her eyes endlessly.
Her mind starts replaying the times she took the little girl in her hands and held onto her tightly, afraid that she'll fall. She replays the time she was coaxed to play the girl's favourite game because she started crying in front of her two mothers, she remembers the devilish smile on the younger's face after her mothers left, she remembers leaving he
