"She's not opening her room."

Wendy quickly gave an apologetic amile to the woman in front of her as she made her way upstairs to her girlfriend's room. She knocked slightly afraid that she'd be sleeping.

A few minutes passed and Irene still didn't open up, so Wendy decided she was sleeping. But just as she was about to turn away and leave she heard a noise and followed to that was a cute little, "Kiyub!"

Just by the noise Wendy knew her baby-like girlfriend was awake and that was just an attempt to avoid her.

"Irene, come on I know you're awake, now that you've made a mistake." Wendy chuckled as she heard a groan from the other side. "Come on, open up."

"Seungwan-ah go away. I'm never going to break this wall between you and I~"

"Woah, why so dramatic?" She heard a couple of incoherent baby-noises from inside.

"Go away. You shouldn't see me like this."

Did Wendy hear that correctly? She wanted to see Irene in every way possible. She wanted to spend alot of time (if not forever) with Irene and she couldn't do that if the just-turned adult acted like this in front of her.

"Bae Joohyun, open up. Now!"

Wendy knew very well how to get Irene to open up. Just a few words in the stern voice of the 'ever so sweet and caring Wendy' would surely do the trick. And the full name was just a cherry on top.

They both knew when they use the full name, it's either 'I'm not here to around' or to indicate overflowing love, and Irene knew it couldn't be the latter.

There was a pause and tons of baby-noises but an amusing smile made it's way on Wendy's face as she heard slow footsteps. And in no time the door was open and the sight in front of her was concerning to say the least.

But Wendy couldn't help stifle a laugh.

"Yah! That's why I didn't open!" Irene, who was wrapped in a grey blanket which completely covered her head. A few baby hair stuck out of the blanket. Her nose was completely red and her cheeks were dusted with a little pink too, Wendy assumed it's because of embarrassment.

Irene stepped back and was about to close the door but Wendy held it just in time and because of the impact of Wendy holding the door, Irene stumbled back a little. It was almost like all the adrenaline rushed in Wendy's body as she took a large step and grabbed the other's waist. Irene ducked her head down because of fear amd the simple getsure had Wendy swooning over the older.

She gently held onto her red cheeks and lifted her face upwards so she could see her. She leaned in and planted a sweet little kiss on Irene's red nose. "Aww, my cute little baeby."

"No, don't do that. You'll catch a cold too." Despite the words, Irene had a subtle smile and Wendy knew she missed the younger just as much.

Irene attempted to move away, but Wendy only pulled her closer. Finally giving in, Irene bent down a little and rested her face on Wendy's chest. Wendy ran her finger through the other's hair slowly.

"Then you'll take care of me, won't you?"

Irene snuggled into her chest even more. A soft and muffled voice is heard. "I missed you."

Wendy giggled and when she noticed Irene wasn't yet ready to let go, she softly tapped her back. "Cold? Mmh?"

"Not anymore."

As Wendy glanced around still holding Irene her eyes widen from suprise. The person who always liked to stay neat and even forced other's to has created a mess.

The room was an absolute atrocity. Clothes were just lying here and there, some books were sitting alone on the floor, but in a messy way. A laptop was resting on the bed and the stuff that used to stay on the side table was all on the floor.

"Come on, let's get you to bed."

Wendy supported Irene to get to the bed, it didn't happen without a tons of whines from the latter who wanted to stay in that comfortable position. She tucked her in and planted a kiss on her forehead.

"Don't go away, please."

"I'm not. I'm just going to clean this place up a bit." Wendy giggled as she struggled to free her hand from the baeby's hand. She really clutched onto it like it was her life.

Well, maybe it was.

Wendy picked up some clothes and folded them to put them back in the wardrobe.

"Seriously Reenie, if I knew you'd get like this when

Chapter 38: Wow, what sad news, I really had hope for this story. I mean, even if things didn't turn out the way I expected (Like Joohyun confronting Seungwan the first moment he saw her about the daughter she just took away and Joohyun misses so much or the revelation of Joy's supposed other relative where she only discovers that she didn't really have a father but a mother?) And of course, even though Joohyun knew that Seulgi was back in contact with Seungwan, she never confronted either of them about the whereabouts of her other daughter, which makes us wonder what kind of parents Joohyun and Seungwan are who don't bother to look for or finally reveal the truth to Joy and why does Seulgi continue to collude with both sides when she considers her niece so much?
Despite everything, what really saddens me is that despite everything, the flashbacks to their past were without a doubt the best part of the story, I really kept waiting for more of them. I don't know if you intend to go back to this story and rewrite it, but I would particularly love it if you could show us their past in full. I think exploring what you've already done here would be a way of reusing this story that had so much to show.

Anyway, thank you for everything so far, I hope you are well and come back soon, author-nim!

Chapter 38: Oh i see the problem now. The seulreners want more seulrene moments.

Though i've always thought this is wenrene fic with how often Wendy's pov appears. But i agree that the story's really dragging. And so many side character povs.

I always look up wenrene tags coz that's all i'm interested in and this story was really promising. But i suggest if you're writing a wenrene fic, just use wenrene tag and don't add seulrene and vice versa if you're writing a seulrene fic to avoid being accused of clickbaiting and confusion.

Thank you for your work author! Please keep on writing.

Chapter 37: Heavy seulrener here and yes the story is dragging. This story is similar to wenseulrene fic titled 'Unrequited' in terms of the structure where it's clearly a seulrene fic with wendy as the 'heartbreaker' but for some reason the pov heavily came from wendy perspective. I think other readers already mentioned it out: Seulrene is clearly still going strong in this fic but for some reason, they have less moments compares to Seulgi with Lisa. This wenrene/seulrene bait & switch is clearly not working because now people started to criticize Irene, Seulgi and Wendy characters (similar with that fic 'Unrequited') and it's not even because they don't understand the concept of flawed characters, it's just they're getting tired of the story and the characters. I just don't get why most wenseulrene fics authors always have the same concepts and settings when they wrote their dynamics and it made me wonder if they really see each individual irl like that, because let's be real here, yes these are fictional characters, but they are real person fictions (rpf) characters. Even in kdramas, triangle loves don't always have the same dynamics. It's like these fics' authors are actually on one camp, but they pretend to care about the third person (in this case wendy) so that people would think that these authors actually like both camps. Might as well make it a polymorph relationship.

Chapter 37: Chapter 37: Well I'm still reading this though the story is undoubtedly dragging its heels before moving a fraction of an inch for whatever plot there is. I get that the characters are still stuck in some of their past, but it doesn't mean that the story should be too. Stuck at a snail pace, I mean. The Joohyun and Wendy arc has the two agonizing every now and then in addition to the Joy issue keeping this story going in circles. I'm interested enough to keep on reading this but something has got to happen soon and change the pace to get things moving. The Seulgi and Wendy talk finally happened, but any attempts of figuring out how to approach Wendy and Joohyun closure as well getting Joy known as the missing child is not even on the horizon. I've also not seen a solid Seulrene tidbit here that is solely about them and not a segway to enter another Wenrene flashback and Wenrene agenda. I get that this story is about past Wenrene and daughter Joy, but I think there has been more Lisa-centric chapters/POVs than a Seulgi one that is not related to past Wenrene. Seulrene doesn't even shine that much other than small stolen moments here and there.

Chapter 33: What I don't get about this whole thing is why are they talking around Irene instead of just telling her the truth? This will all blow up in all of their faces once Irene finds out that Joy is her kid and that Seulgi is keeping things from her. It's bordering stupidity at this point. Seulgi is well aware of how devastated Irene was when Wendy left with their kid and now that said kid is back, instead of telling her outright, she goes and hides it from her. I mean who does that? There's no justification as to why she's doing what she's doing at this point. And not just Seulgi even, the same goes for Wendy. She has every opportunity at this point to stop beating around the bush and get her daughter and Irene to meet. But she keeps delaying things.

I don't even get Irene's reaction when she first met Wendy again either. I'd have been angry on the spot and demand to see my child. Why is she so passive?

Still curious to see how this runs through but I'm also getting frustrated at how this is turning out.

Chapter 32: First thought comes to mind when the revelation happened like- what the hell was Irene thinking volunteering for that? Everything became SO messed up after that. I don't even know what to say
