Chapter 25
[DISCONTINUED] familyWendy is literally sweating.
She's too nervous to even be around Seulgi. But she needed to talk to her.
Another shock that came to her was Seulgi with Joy. Joy knows Seulgi, Seulgi knows Joy and now she also knows that Joy is Wendy's (and Irene's) daughter.
!
Why did she even say it?
She shouldn't have asked for a talk at this moment. Some other time would've been alright.
Seulgi must be mad at her. For everything.
Which includes not telling Joy anything about her. Or anyone, for that matter.
She glances at Seulgi, but she looks for too long and Seulgi catches her. She immediately looks away.
When did we become this awkward Seul?
She has to say something now, or else it'll be really awkward. She scans her mind for any sort of work related talk, but she can't find any. Her mind just chooses to give out at this point.
She finally musters up the courage to say something.
"Are you going to utter a single word, Ms. Son? We've already walked for like 7 minutes." Seulgi breaks the silence first.
Ms.Son? Again?
Just why does Seulgi have to pretend this is their first time meeting. Does Wendy have to shout and remind her? Has she had a loss of her memories?
Wait! That's possible!
"Umm...Seulgi...were you in an accident recently or...maybe you visit the doctor?" She asks to make sure Seulgi hasn't had a loss of her memory of anything.
That would also explain why she's with Joohyun.
Seulgi frowns. "What?"
Confusion! She's confused, maybe she did lose her memories after all.
Wendy sighs. "So you don't remember me? Do you remember a certain Wendy? Uhh...do-"
"What the heck are you talking about? I remember you very ing well." Seulgi growls. She suddenly looks so angry. "I remember how you just left Joohyun like that years ago. I remember everything Wendy."
Without any thinking, she utters what first comes into her mind. It was an involuntary movement of .
"Unnie for you."
"Let's just leave this little kid behind and go to shopping Irene."
Wendy straightened in her seat and shook her head along with the wagging of her forefinger.
"It's unnie for you missy. She's older than you." She quipped.
"You don't call her that, you're the same age as me." Seulgi bit her lip in vexation.
Wendy smirked as she thought of a snarky reply.
"I also kiss her and do alot of other th-"
"Yah! Son Seungwan, stop pestering this innocent bear!" Irene stood up and dragged Seulgi out of her chair, who now held a vanquishing smile on her face. "It's fine if you don't want to call me unnie, Seul." Irene mumbled softly.
Wendy was almost about to grab her phone and click a picture at how cute Irene and Seulgi looked.
She was glad they have such an amazing friendship, cause to be honest she can't live without either.
Seulgi glanced at Wendy and smiled.
"I think 'unnie' is better for me, unnie."
A split second later she realises what she just said. She looks down, anger riling up in her too.
Of course Seulgi wouldn't say 'Joohyun unnie' now. They're apparently dating.
With that she tries to connect the dots.
Why did Seulgi drop Joy? Joy was supposed to be at Yeri's house. Is Yeri...related to Seulgi? Is Seulgi....Yeri's mom? No. That's not possible. It's way too far-fetched.
(She knows it's very well possible and maybe even true.
But Wendy has always loved denial.)
She clears her mind of any weird theories. She better ask Seulgi than assume things. She has alot of questions to be answered.
She glances at Seulgi again. The other just looks down, not even sparing a glance. She can't let anger get over her.
Be calm.
Be calm.
Be calm and do what you're here to do.
"Seulgi, I just wanted to say that we have to work together, so I think..." She faces her and stops walking, Seulgi looks at her expectantly. "I think we should....focus more on that and you know, let's not be awkward. Let's be professional."
Seulgi barely nods.
Is it so hard to say a yes?
Wendy lets out a scoff. She wants this walk to end now, for them to never talk like this alone.
"So....let's just...I don't know...head back?"
Seulgi just keeps on walking, lost in whatever she's thinking. A moment later when she realises Wendy is not by her side anymore she turns and her mind finally processes what was said.
Seulgi nods again.
Okay, that's ing irritating.
Wendy doesn't like to be mean but sometimes when people annoy the out of her, that side comes out.
"Don't you know how to speak?"
Seulgi looks up with slight apprehension, she opens but closes it immediately after.
Wendy's had enough of this silent treatment, all her anger and frustration ready to be let out at any moment now.
She's ready to shout at Seulgi, maybe even punch her in the nose once or twice.
She's ready for a fight.
(But then again it's not like them to fight, with Wendy always controlling her anger and choosing the wise way out and Seulgi never really being angry in the first place, no matter how much she says she is.)
", Seulgi. Enough of this ! If you want to say something you might as well say it now." Wendy moves closer to the other, both of them stopping in thier tracks. But Seulgi, the coward, is now looking right into her eyes. "Wanna cuss me out, do it. Go ahead!" She waits for a moment, but continues not long after. "Wanna punch me, huh? Here I'll help you."
Wendy takes Seulgi's hand and rolls it into a fist, trying to move it so it lands on her cheeks,
