Chapter 14
[DISCONTINUED] familyRosé didn't question Wendy when she abruptly muttered a 'we should go' and yanked her out of the place.
She didn't question when Wendy didn't utter a single word through thier walk back.
She didn't question when Wendy just walked straight into her room and shut the door right on her face, without a single word.
Did she do something wrong?
She must've.
She ignores the feeling for now and goes straight to Lisa's room, to provide her with her new-found information.
She knocks and Lisa opens, she's wearing the most comfortable pajamas in the world. She's also wearing a weird hat or something, which has two large, soft, long ears, it has long sides, which Lisa is holding onto. It looks like a bunny.
Lisa welcomes her excitedly and pulls the two long sides alternatively to show that ears move when the two sides are pulled.
"That's.....nice." Rosé deadpans, and Lisa hits her playfully on the shoulder.
"So what brings you here, milady?" Lisa talks in some weird accent, while putting her hand forward, like asking Rosé to dance.
"Stop with that." Rosé chuckles. "I have to tell you something."
"Hm?"
"So Ms.Kang, huh?"
A blush creeps up on Lisa's face just on the mention of the name. She says nothing, just looks at Rosé expectantly.
Rosé continues. "Lis, she's actually uhh not exactly our age."
Lisa frowns, not understanding what the other means. "Huh?"
"So she's actually um about Wendy's age."
Lisa's jaw drops, literally. Rosé is amused and satisfied by the reaction, she stifles her laugh. Rosé puts her finger on Lisa's chin and closes .
After a few moments Lisa comes back to reality. "What? How..how do you know? Rosé I swear to god, if you told Seul about this, I will kill-"
"Woah, woah, calm down, nobody knows, but I have my own sources." Rosé says while looking up, while giving a smug smile.
"So she's like over 30? That's crazy! She doesn't look like it, right?" Lisa looks nowhere, like she's thinking deeply.
Rosé nods. Ms.Kang really doesn't, the same is the case with Wendy, and literally every other friend Wendy has.
Or had.
Lisa's chuckles bitterly, alarming Rosé that something is wrong, so she asks.
"What?"
"There goes another reason whatever the I'm feeling is wrong." Lisa droops and holds her forehead, massaging her temples.
"Hey, nothing is wrong, you can feel whatever you feel, you don't control it Lis. And besides you're both adults, and sensible people."
Lisa looks at Rosé who's trying so hard to explain to her that nothings wrong with it, but Lisa still has that sad look on her face.
"Sorry, I doubt the last part about you but-" Rosé sneers.
"Hey! I'm sensible and an adult!" Lisa hisses and then starts giggling like a kid, completely contradicting her last statement.
Rosé is satisfied that she could at least bring a smile on Lisa's face.
"But seriously, there's nothing wrong," Rosé pauses and glances at Lisa, "That is if you really like her, now tell me."
Lisa doesn't say anything, just looks away avoiding Rosé.
"Are you actually not sure or you just don't wanna accept?" Rosé says in hopes of hitting a nerve or two.
Lisa doesn't look back, no response is heard. So Rosé just decides to leave the girl alone.
"Well, I'll be going now, but I can be your wingwoman, if you want." Rosé slightly bows, with an amused smile.
"You don't even call her by her name, it's always ~Ms.Kang, Ms.Kang~" Lisa imitates Rosé, in a weird way which does not sound like Rosé at all, that's what's she thinks.
Rosé rolls her eyes and goes out of the room.
She's heading to her room. As she passes the corridor she hears something. It sounds as if someone is crying. It was like they're struggling to breathe while crying.
Rosé immediately follows the voice, she turns away from her room and climbs the stairs. On top of the stairs, right at the corner, she sees a woman. She's balled up with her face facing her knees. And it's not a secret, she's crying.
Rosé can't see her face, but she doesn't need to. She knows this woman very well.
Kim Jennie.
She doesn't know what do to right now. So much is happening in this one Sunday that her mind is going crazy now.
What? Why is she.....crying?
Do something.
Fix it.
She sits beside her and taps the other's shoulders gently. Jennie jerks up.
"I'll go, you don't have to-"
She stops when she sees Rosé. It's like she thought Rosé was someone else.
"What....the heck are...y-you doing here?" Jennie wipes her tears, or tries to. But they won't stop.
Rosé can tell her that Jennie is trying her best to pull that signature cold face, but Rosé can't see anything other than the real her.
Her eyes show a broken person.
A weak person.
Rosé doesn't know what to say.
Yeah, why the heck am I here?
"Are you okay Jennie?" Rosé chooses not to answer the question, cause she can't.
"Yeah, so do mind your own business." Jennie gets up to go but Rosé grabs her wrist.
"Jennie, why are you like this?" Rosé doesn't know how she got the courage to say the words but she just did.
Jennie glares at Rosé's hand which is still on her own wrist, Rosé noticed and lets go abruptly.
They are silent now. Rosé wants to say so much more but she stops herself.
"Just stay here, I'll go." Rosé says gently.
Rosé looks at Jennie's face, searching. Searching for any sign that stops her from going.
Rosé gets up and walks down the stairs, she's waiting for Jennie to call her.
To stop her.
But when none of that happens she keeps on walking, even when she doesn't want to.
She just wants to take the other in her arms and never let go.
Protect her.
From whatever's hurting her.
She walks, keeps on walking. She doesn't know where her legs are taking her.
"Hey, Chaeyoung, right?" She hears a voice stoping her in her run to nowhere.
She looks up, and is relieved to see the woman. Kim Jisoo.
"Yeah, that's me, Jisoo." Rosé manages a little smile, but she immediately remembers Jennie.
"Jisoo, uhh Jennie is um over there, on the stairs, she's not fine, I think she's been crying. You should uhh go."
"She's not drunk, is she?" Jisoo has the expression of a mom worried for her child.
Rosé is not suprised to hear that question, since the first time she met her was when she was drunk.
"No, but she's- she's...just go to her."
"Chaeyoung, she might come off as a horrible and rude person, but trust me she's none of that. She's just suffering alot right now. I'm sorry if she did or said something awful." Jisoo smiles apologetically.
Rosé knows all of that, she saw the real Jennie on the day she met her and she's been dying to see her since then.
"I get it."
With that Jisoo runs off towards Jennie.
Rosé follows her, she doesn't know why but she does.
She might need my help, right?
She doesn't go straight in front of them though, she just watches from a distance.
She watches as Jennie jumps straight into Jisoo's arms, letting her tears fall.
She only tried to hide her tears with me.
She watches as Jisoo runs her hand through Jennie's hair, while Jennie eases up to the touch.
She flinched when I held her wrist.
She watches as Jisoo whispers something to Jennie and manages to bring a smile on her face.
She was angry when she saw me.
So what? We're strangers.
Then why do I care?
She turns around and rushing to her room, she doesn't want to stay there anymore. Seeing that Jennie is perfectly fine and happy, why would she stay?
She should go to her room and get much-needed sleep but she just wanders around.
Is she still hoping Jennie, a stranger, would come?
No, why would she?
After a few long minutes of walking, someone taps her shoulder. She turns immediately, only to be disappointed.
"Chaeyoung, I thought you went back to your
