Probably everybody in the room would be able to see the tension between two of the people who are heading the project.

Lisa somehow also got involved with his new project that they've got. Wendy told them all yesterday that they would be taking up new projects as long as they're working fine on the earlier ones.

Lisa obviously knows it's to get that coin, but Wendy said something along the lines of 'loving the work ethic here' and whatnot.

Everybody can see how much she loves it.

Seulgi, who Lisa doesn't want to see at all, is also here somehow. And Lisa doesn't know what sort of rivalry the two have but it's definitely something big, considering both of them can't even stay within 3 m distance from each other.

Lisa has her own reasons to stay away from Seulgi but she doesn't know why Wendy is acting this way and she wants to find out. She spots her target and waddles her way to her.

"Hey rose!" Lisa whispers, tapping Rosé's shoulder. The said girl looks back with a jump as she puts her hand on her chest and sighs.

"You! You scared me!" Rosé looks back at the paper she was writing on before. "What happened?"

"Listen, I wanted to ask you something. What's up with Seulgi and Wendy?" As soon as she says it Rosé looks back with a wary expression, that tells Lisa she does know something.

"I-I don't...um know.."

Lisa doesn't let go so easily.

"You know something, come on roseeeee, my beautiful flower, my best friend, spill the tea man." Lisa puts her palm forward trying to look cool as she says the last sentence. She almost closes her eyes with an annoyed expression.

"Look it's....it's no-"

Someone bumps into Lisa and she turns back with speed, ready to curse whoever that is, knowing it's probably someone from their team.

Well, it's not.

"Ohh! Lisa! I'm so sorry!" Seulgi puts her hand behind her head. She looks red from embarrassment.

Lisa can't help but notice the way her cute monolid eyes just disappear as she gives the biggest smile to Lisa. She notices as her eyebrows furrow while muttering some more 'sorrys' and other stuff Lisa doesn't bother to hear.

She has to stop looking.

So she looks back to see Rosé who has already disappeared and is now helping Wendy with something.

Wendy doesn't even need any help! That !

"It's been so long. How are you?" Seulgi mumbles quietly.

Though Lisa is looking down at her 10$ shoes, she can feel Seulgi's eyes fixed on her.

She can't dare to look up.

"Good. Amazing." Lisa looks up slightly only to look here and there again.

"Good." That's all Seulgi says. Lisa kind of wants her to talk more but this silence is getting awkward now.

She smiles bitterly.

Their silence was never awkward for Lisa, but it is now.

When Seulgi says nothing more Lisa manages to flash a little smile and turns around to find Rosé, she interrupted though.

"Lisa?"

Lisa cannot see the other's face but based on her voice she can decipher that Seulgi is confused, maybe just maybe sad.

But then again Lisa loves to create realities that are not true.

"Yes?" She looks back, because it's rude to talk to someone while facing back, absolutely not because she wants to see the face she adores too much to her liking.

"Umm...are you...uhh..do you have alot of work these days?" Seulgi is looking down and stuttering, this leaves Lisa confused and so she doesn't answer. Seulgi finally looks up and maybe she notices Lisa's confusion, so she explains. "It's- it's just that you don't come to practice anymore. I thought you....you loved it."

This stirs up so many emotions in Lisa.

How can she not like this cute and kind person in front of her? The way Seulgi fidgets with her ring tells her that she's embarrassed. Maybe she missed Lisa to-

Ring?

Of course, ring. She's taken.

"I won't come anymore."

Lisa just turns and moves away.

Rude? She knows.

So not Lisa? She knows.

She didn't even wait to see Seulgi's face. But she knows her smile would have fallen.

That beautiful smile.

--

"Go talk to her, Wen." Rosé nudges Wendy and points to Seulgi with her eye.

"What do you mean?" Wendy keeps looking at the set, trying to analyze if everything fits.

"You know what I mean. The team is not able to work properly because of you guys. Wendy, I know it must be hard, but you have to be professional."

Rosé had been seeing the two since the starting. It's not just today, it's been 3 days since this has been happening. The past Friday, Saturday, Sunday (yes, they had to work on their rest day too) have been the exact same and she's determined to let the two (ex) best friends figure stuff out.

Wendy looks down, her face now out of sight. "I-I'm...I know I'm so sorry chippie." Her voice sounds weak, but more than that she actually sounds very sorry.

Rosé holds both of her hands and squeezes them.

"You don't have to be sorry. Look it's been 12 years and I'm sure it would be better if you just figure things out. She would want that too."

"It's not that....I know I would've....t-talked to her by now but..but knowing about Irene, w-who now likes the name Joohyun more now.." Wendy chuckles bitterly. "....I just...I.."

"Hey...hey it's okay. Don't stress too much. And don't think about Irene anymore." Rosé leaves her hands and places them both on Wendy's cheeks. "Try to think about work, what you came here to do. If you can't talk to Seulgi, don't think of her as the person you knew 12 years ago, think of her as a co-worker."

Rosé knows this is not good advice and would just be a short-term solution, but Wendy always gets so affected whenever it comes to Irene that she just can't keep the conversation going. But she understands Wendy too, not everybody would get to see their ex-wife so happy and probably in love with their ex-best friend.

Rosé is also kind of curious as to what in the world happened that Seulgi who Wendy claims was a total goofball had to date Irene, her own best friend's ex-wife and vice-versa.

But she tries not to judge anybody before knowing the whole story.

"But I know I need to talk to her, it won't work like this." Wendy seems determined now, not weak like before. Rosé nods in encouragement.

Just then they hear a cough and look to their right, with Rosé pulling her arms off of Wendy's cheeks.

"Uhh Chaeyoung they umm need you guys over there." Seulgi points over to Taehyung with one of her hands as she pinches the bridge of her nose with the other.

Rosé is about to answer but to her surprise, Wendy does it first.

"Why don't you tell them to take a break."

Apparently it surprises Seulgi way more that Rosé, because is literally open as she does a little nod.

Rosé wonders if the CEO material Seulgi is always awkward like that.

Rosé knows it wouldn't be a big break and she's shocked when it's already 5 minutes and they're still not resuming the work.

Maybe Wendy has lost it.

After some minutes more of drinking her coffee she moves around the big space.

In the corner she finds Sana sitting on a chair and writing something. It looks like she's still working. Well, she's trying her best to, but she's dozing off again and again. Rosé decides to talk to her.

Chapter 38: Wow, what sad news, I really had hope for this story. I mean, even if things didn't turn out the way I expected (Like Joohyun confronting Seungwan the first moment he saw her about the daughter she just took away and Joohyun misses so much or the revelation of Joy's supposed other relative where she only discovers that she didn't really have a father but a mother?) And of course, even though Joohyun knew that Seulgi was back in contact with Seungwan, she never confronted either of them about the whereabouts of her other daughter, which makes us wonder what kind of parents Joohyun and Seungwan are who don't bother to look for or finally reveal the truth to Joy and why does Seulgi continue to collude with both sides when she considers her niece so much?
Despite everything, what really saddens me is that despite everything, the flashbacks to their past were without a doubt the best part of the story, I really kept waiting for more of them. I don't know if you intend to go back to this story and rewrite it, but I would particularly love it if you could show us their past in full. I think exploring what you've already done here would be a way of reusing this story that had so much to show.

Anyway, thank you for everything so far, I hope you are well and come back soon, author-nim!

Chapter 38: Oh i see the problem now. The seulreners want more seulrene moments.

Though i've always thought this is wenrene fic with how often Wendy's pov appears. But i agree that the story's really dragging. And so many side character povs.

I always look up wenrene tags coz that's all i'm interested in and this story was really promising. But i suggest if you're writing a wenrene fic, just use wenrene tag and don't add seulrene and vice versa if you're writing a seulrene fic to avoid being accused of clickbaiting and confusion.

Thank you for your work author! Please keep on writing.

Chapter 37: Heavy seulrener here and yes the story is dragging. This story is similar to wenseulrene fic titled 'Unrequited' in terms of the structure where it's clearly a seulrene fic with wendy as the 'heartbreaker' but for some reason the pov heavily came from wendy perspective. I think other readers already mentioned it out: Seulrene is clearly still going strong in this fic but for some reason, they have less moments compares to Seulgi with Lisa. This wenrene/seulrene bait & switch is clearly not working because now people started to criticize Irene, Seulgi and Wendy characters (similar with that fic 'Unrequited') and it's not even because they don't understand the concept of flawed characters, it's just they're getting tired of the story and the characters. I just don't get why most wenseulrene fics authors always have the same concepts and settings when they wrote their dynamics and it made me wonder if they really see each individual irl like that, because let's be real here, yes these are fictional characters, but they are real person fictions (rpf) characters. Even in kdramas, triangle loves don't always have the same dynamics. It's like these fics' authors are actually on one camp, but they pretend to care about the third person (in this case wendy) so that people would think that these authors actually like both camps. Might as well make it a polymorph relationship.

Chapter 37: Chapter 37: Well I'm still reading this though the story is undoubtedly dragging its heels before moving a fraction of an inch for whatever plot there is. I get that the characters are still stuck in some of their past, but it doesn't mean that the story should be too. Stuck at a snail pace, I mean. The Joohyun and Wendy arc has the two agonizing every now and then in addition to the Joy issue keeping this story going in circles. I'm interested enough to keep on reading this but something has got to happen soon and change the pace to get things moving. The Seulgi and Wendy talk finally happened, but any attempts of figuring out how to approach Wendy and Joohyun closure as well getting Joy known as the missing child is not even on the horizon. I've also not seen a solid Seulrene tidbit here that is solely about them and not a segway to enter another Wenrene flashback and Wenrene agenda. I get that this story is about past Wenrene and daughter Joy, but I think there has been more Lisa-centric chapters/POVs than a Seulgi one that is not related to past Wenrene. Seulrene doesn't even shine that much other than small stolen moments here and there.

Chapter 33: What I don't get about this whole thing is why are they talking around Irene instead of just telling her the truth? This will all blow up in all of their faces once Irene finds out that Joy is her kid and that Seulgi is keeping things from her. It's bordering stupidity at this point. Seulgi is well aware of how devastated Irene was when Wendy left with their kid and now that said kid is back, instead of telling her outright, she goes and hides it from her. I mean who does that? There's no justification as to why she's doing what she's doing at this point. And not just Seulgi even, the same goes for Wendy. She has every opportunity at this point to stop beating around the bush and get her daughter and Irene to meet. But she keeps delaying things.

I don't even get Irene's reaction when she first met Wendy again either. I'd have been angry on the spot and demand to see my child. Why is she so passive?

Still curious to see how this runs through but I'm also getting frustrated at how this is turning out.

Chapter 32: First thought comes to mind when the revelation happened like- what the hell was Irene thinking volunteering for that? Everything became SO messed up after that. I don't even know what to say
