It's kinda weird that

we don't exist

in each ther's life

anymore.

 

It's like nothing

has ever happened

between us.

 

But how can it be nothing

when it was everything

at one point of time?

Chapter 5: truth and miseries

 

June lay on his bed as his brooding thoughts troubled him - that girl with the hazel brown eyes, why did she look so familiar?

“Did I see those eyes before? Aishhh” June sighed as he slammed the cup of coffee on the table

“You didn’t even get me a cup of coffee and if you spill even a drop there, I’m not gonna clean up” Jinan said as he walked past June with the vacuum cleaner.

“Like you are not doing any cleaning right now” June muttered as Jinan glared at him

“Nothing” June chuckled awkwardly as he walked away from the scene.

 

“Haneul-ah” her mom called as Haneul looked at her parents and then at Hanbin

“I’m sorry, we really wanted to tell you this from the very beginning but you were young and—”

“And is this why you wanted me to come to Korea? For ‘THIS’?” Haneul asked cutting off her mom as tears brimmed and threatened to fall.

“We wanted to do this before dear, but it was a rather tight situation then and—”

“Yes and tell me that you divorced one and a half year back and eomma is getting married ...how can you be so selfish? Why are you taking away the only thing that’s keeping me together through everything I have been?!” Haneul cried as her mom walked towards her

“Ani, don’t eomma...please” she said taking a step back as her a tear escaped her mom’s eye.

“How could you do this to me?” Haneul asked as she looked at her parents, tears falling down her face

“This family was the only thing I had... the only thing I believed was gonna last forever, and you destroyed it eomma appa...you really left me with nothing” Haneul cried as she turned back

“Fine, if that’s what you all want...” she said before walking out of the house

“Eotthokae...I just wanted her to be happy” her mom cried as she sat on the floor as her ex-husband patted her reassuringly

“I’m sure she’ll understand dear, Hanbin-ah, please check on her alright? She won’t listen to anyone but you right now” Yg said as Hanbin nodded making his exit.

 

Nothing last forever, it’s really true. Even the things you think you have forever comes to an end.

I’m becoming a faint light and going among the stars...

 

“Haneul!” Hanbin called as he pulled her back as a car sped past her

“What are you doing?! You almost got hit by that car!” he shouted as Haneul looked at him

“Leave me alone” she said as Hanbin hugged her

“Don’t be stupid” he sighed as he put his muffler around his girl.

“Oppa is here okay? Don’t think of doing anything stupid” Hanbin said as Haneul felt his huge arms embrace her

“I don’t what to do anymore Hanbin-ah...I really don’t know what I should do. I’m so alone” she cried

“Don't say you’re alone when you have me, okay? I promise I’ll never let you go...I promise” Hanbin said as Haneul continued crying.

 

“Here” he handed a coffee to Haneul as she sat there with her tear stained face

“Here babe” he said sitting in front of her as she continued looking down

“Oppa...” he said cupping her cheeks

“...Will not leave until I’ve made sure you’re okay em?” he asked as Haneul looked at him

“....Why?” she asked after a long pause.

“Because I love you and that’s what people you love do, they make sure you are okay when you are pretending to be” Hanbin said as Haneul nodded, tears streaming down her face

“I love you too” she cried as Hanbin nodded smiling

“Me too” he smiled pecking her lips.

 

Later:

“Say, did you know about his whole thing?” Haneul asked as she walked with Hanbin along the empty streets, heading to her apartment.

“I did hear that you have an oppa but I didn’t know about the divorce” Hanbin said as he tightened his grip on her hand.

“An oppa? Me? Could be he eomma’s son?” Haneul asked as Hanbin thought for a while

“I don’t think so jagi, but for now stop thinking about this alright? And I want you to tell your mom and dad that you are alright” Hanbin said turning to her as she pouted

“But I’m still mad at them” she sighed looking down as Hanbin placed his hands on her shoulders

“I’ll be with you tonight em? So please don’t make your eomma and appa worried” Hanbin smiled as his dimples appeared

“I hate you” she chuckled a bit as Hanbin handed her his phone as she took it

“Oppa is right here” he smiled as Haneul nodded

“Oh Hanbin-ah, is Haneul with you? Is she okay?” Haneul’s mom asked worriedly

“Eomma...” Haneul said after taking a deep breath as Hanbin nodded reassuringly

“Haneul? Baby, are you okay? You can come okay? Eomma and appa will talk to you nicely and be good parents okay?” her mom said as Haneul felt guilt rush over her

“Eomma, I’m okay...I’m just tired, can I talk to you guys tomorrow?” she asked

“Ah jinjja? Do you want me to come over?” her mom asked

“Aniyo its okay eomma, tell papa not to worry too much either, Hanbin will be with me tonight” Haneul said looking at Hanbin as he smiled warmly

“Okay baby, call me or your papa tomorrow oh?” her mom asked worriedly

“Neh eomma...saranghae” Haneul said before hanging up

“Good girl” Hanbin smiled her hair as she handed him his phone

“Geumawo” she said awkwardly as Hanbin nodded smiling

“Let’s go now” he said taking her hand in his as she nodded with a smile

“Oh and before that...” Hanbin said as he turned to her and cupped her cheeks

“Neh?” Haneul muttered

“You must have really been troubled that you forgot, Happy one year baby” Hanbin smiled as Haneul paused

“What’s the date?” she sighed as Hanbin chuckled

“I love you” he smiled as Haneul looked at him before grabbing his muffler

“I hate you so much you know that” she said with the biggest smile as she stood on her toes just to kiss her boyfriend.

Hanbin interlaced his hands over her waist as her stopped down to meet her level, a smile playing on his lips.
