Chapter 18: The fight

 

It was yet another tiring day as Hanbin sat on his table as he tried to compose the work that was yet left to be done

“Hey babe, I’ll go get some coffee for both of us k?” Haneul asked lifting her head from the desk as Hanbin looked at her

“You want me to drop you home if you’re tired?” Hanbin asked guilty at the fact that he had to make his girl wait for him while he sorted out his things

“Nah, I’ll just go get coffee” Haneul smiled as Hanbin nodded as she stood up when he grabbed her hand

“Yes?” she asked as Hanbin pecked her lips

“I love you” he smiled as Haneul chuckled nodding

“I’ll be back” she smiled as Hanbin nodded.

 

A few minutes passed by when Hanbin heard the door creak open, not bothering to look up, assured that it was Haneul

“So busy you haven’t been able to call me back for the past two days?” Hayi said as she came and sat next to him

“Oh I thought you were Haneul” Hanbin muttered as Hayi frowned

“Why didn’t you call me?” she asked as Hanbin turned to his song

“I have been busy” Hanbin said as Hayi sighed

“So you got a girlfriend so you ignore your friend?” she asked chuckling a bit as she peeked into what Hanbin had been writing

“Aniyo, nothing like that” Hanbin said as he put his scripts away

“You know...we broke up” Hayi said as Hanbin looked at her

“Wae?” he asked clamly

“He overheard everything that we talked about that night” Hayi sighed as Hanbin nodded

“It was wrong of you too” he said as Hayi nodded looking down
“You know, things have been hard” she sighed as Hanbin looked at her

“You okay?” he asked as Hayi nodded smiling

“Can’t you come to me now?” she whispered as Hanbin looked at her

“Hayi-yah” he called worriedly

“Get some rest oh? We can do the song later” Hanbin said as Hayi looked at him, her eyes b with tears

“Jowahae Bin-ah, can’t we be together now?” she asked as Hanbin stood up

“I have Haneul and there’s no one if it’s not her. Let’s not let this affect our friendship” Hanbin said sternly as he stood up
“Kim Hanbin” Hayi called as she grabbed his hand

“Look at me okay? Only look at me” she said as tears dripped from her eyes

“Uljimaa” Hanbin sighed as he rubbed her tears away with his thumb

“Don’t act like this Hayi, you’re strong and I trust on that oh?” Hanbin asked as Hayi nodded

“Geumawo” she muttered hugging him as Hanbin stood still

“Get some rest” he said pulling away as he put her hands down from his back

“And let’s not talk about this again” he said walking away when

“June said he’ll make Haneul his again...what are you gonna do about it?!” Hayi shouted as Hanbin turned to her

“If you continued doing this, I’m sorry but whatever we have in between us will vanish” Hanbin said before walking away.

 

Haneul walked towards the room where Hanbin had been working so tirelessly when she saw Hayi inside, talking to her boyfriend

“What are they saying to each other?” she muttered as she started at the two from outside through the glass.

Hanbin stood up as Haneul continued looking at the two. That was when she felt her heart falling pieces, him rubbing away her tears.

 

*Was the same thing that happened two years ago happening again?*

 

 

Haneul felt her heart grow heavy when Hayi embraced Hanbin as he stood there doing nothing when Haneul felt a tight grip on her pulling her away from the scene.

“J-June?” she muttered as June dragged her until they reached the small basketball court just near the YG building

“What’s wrong with you?” June asked as Haneul looked at him

“What’s wrong with me?” she asked confused as June took out two mango juice from the vending machine

“Your favourite” he smiled handing it to her

“Y-Yah...t-thanks” she muttered as June nodded

“Be strong oh?” he said raising up his fist as Haneul stared at him

“Yeah” she smiled after a long pause

“We broke up, so I can’t tell her to stay away from him either, but I’ll tell him to maintain his distance” June said taking a sip of the juice

“Why did you guys break up?” Haneul asked looking at him

“What’s the use of being in a relationship that has no meaning or trust” June sighed as Haneul looked at him

“And you’re fine with that? Just calling it quits so suddenly?” Haneul asked

“Yeah...I should be” he said looking at her as she met eyes with him

“Oh” she muttered awkwardly before turning away

“So cute” June chuckled as Haneul looked at him

“Are you making fun of me again?” Haneul muttered furrowing her brows

“Aniyoooo” June sang as Haneul hit his arm

“You know I hate you” she said making a face

“You know, we should go grab ice cream sometimes” June said looking at the sky

“Yeah and get you a brain freeze like last time?” Haneul chuckled as June looked at her

“You were the one who challenged me that day and you passed out of brain freeze first, eating ice cream in the middle of a November night, seriously” Haneul chuckled
“Like I don’t remember when you ALMOST burned the kitchen when trying to give me and your dad a VVIP meal” June said proudly as Haneul widnened her eyes

“YAHHHH we promised not to talk about that again” Haneul said panicking as she looked at June

“I remember it all too well” June smirked as Haneul looked at him before bursting out laughing
“Stupid” she chuckled as June nodded proudly.

“Get up” Hanbin’s voice said as he grabbed Haneul’s wrist

“Oh Hanbin” Haneul said as the leader dragged his stunned girlfriend when Haneul felt another grip on her left wrist

“What exactly are you doing?” June asked as Haneul looked at him

“Leave her hand, it’s a matter between me and Haneul, you stay out of this while I’m still being nice” Hanbin said, rage all over his face

“H-Hanbin-ah, what’s wrong?” Haneul asked as she gulped looking at her boyfriend, the sweet caring boyfriend he once was, forgotten.
