My world became a little bit darker than yesterday...

I don’t think I can live like this anymore...

 

They talk about love, like it’s the most perfect of all the virtues. They say, love is when you find someone who never gives up on you despite your flaws. They say, love is something that makes you love people even when life gives you thousands of reasons not to. Love...funny isn’t it?

I think love is mom and dad being together at home playfully teasing each other. I think love is the small family of three that God has given me. I think love is anything but what he did to me.

Love lost all virtue for me because of one person and yet today, if anyone would give me a wish; I would be stupid enough to waste it on him.

I know it’s love when all I could think about was go back into the past and live it with him; again and again; though I know he’d hurt me more every time.

I know that is love...a love that remains unsurpassed.

There was this... something really special about Koo Junhoe. Like this warm feeling of home and a hint of adventure I could have with him. Like he was the one all along, like I could build dreams with him... Like he could be the one.

 

 

 

Chapter 1: Home is far away.

 

Breathing the air of Miami, the smell of warm coffee on a cold winter morning brought me back to reality. I had classes to attend, I had tuitions to attend, I had projects to submit; the typical life of a 19 year old Korean girl – Yang Haneul.

Life hadn’t really been unfair to me and I made it unfair for myself the last spring when I walked into Seoul for my vacations and met him – Koo Junhoe and our love story that lasted for five months in the spring of 2015, we fell in love when we were only 17.

 

Spring 2015:

“Haneul-ah, what’s with the funny facemask and cap?” Haneul’s dad chuckled as his daughter sighed walking into his office and taking off her so-called disguise.

“Do you even know what will happen if people know Yang Haneul is in Korea?” she asked pouting as her dad frowned

“You are no celebrity, don’t worry” her dad said as Haneul frowned
“I drove miles to see you here today right after I reached from the states and this is how you treat me?” she asked crinkling her forehead with a frown.

“You drov—” her dad said when Haneul walked to the poster pasted on his dad’s office wall

“Are these the new boys?” she asked excitedly looking at the poster of the seven boys

“Ah yes, they are gonna debut soon” her dad said standing up and walking towards his daughter

“Ohhhh the ones you made them cry? What was their song...“”...” she smiled tapping at the picture of the boys when
“Can I come in, ssaem?” a head popped inside the room as the father-daughter duo turned to the voice.

“Oh Hanbin-ah, come inside, are the boys here too?” Yg asked as Hanbin nodded awkwardly as Haneul and leader met eyes.

“Hi” she mouthed with a smile as he looked timidly at her.

“I called you boys to meet someone today, come in” YG called as Haneul looked at the entry of the seven boys who stood infront of her dad greeting him one after the other

“This is my daughter Haneul” Yg said as the guys turned their look towards her
“Hi” she smiled as the guys awkwardly bowed at her as Haneul looked awkwardly at the dad

 

*Is it usually this awkward?*

 

“Um, yes, I would like it if you guys can get along together ...she’s the same age as our Chanwoo” Yg said as the group shared nothing but awkward smiles

“Nice to meet you Haneul-ah, I hope we can get along well” the guy with the bunny smile said as Haneul nodded
“Can’t we just be comfortable around each other? It's awkward and no need to be scared of this ajhusshi right here” Haneul said poking her dad making him sigh a bit as the guys looked at their CEO – the man they all were scared of, ofc who wouldn’t be scared of him -.-

“Haneul-ah—” Yg said when

“Can I join them in practice?” she asked beaming happily as she interlaced her arms with the timid leader

“The boys are busy with practice—”

“Pleaseeee?” she pouted cutting off her father again

“Ssaem, if she wants she can, we need some criticism anyway” the bunny guy said with an awkward laughter

“I don’t criticize like my appa” Haneul said with a straight face as she looked at the boys

“Yahhh” her dad said as Haneul laughed hiding behind the timid leader

“Appa! You made me drive two hours just to see you alright, now please” she laughed as the guys found themselves in light chuckles

The great YG being toyed around by his 17 year old daughter.

 

PRACTICE ROOM:

The music had been booming in the room as Haneul looked at the boys dancing their routine – Hanbin, Donghyuk, Bobby, Jinhwan, Chanwoo, Yunhyeong and June .

He looked at her in much the same way she was staring back at her –

I guess that’s called love at first sight – he smiled.

“Woooooo daebak daebak! You guys gonna sweep the charts once you debut” Haneul cheered as the boys plopped to the floor, tired.

“Here, have water” Haneul offered to Bobby who took it rather gladly.

“So tell us more about you Haneul” Yunhyeong suddenly said as the guys turned their eyes at her, like they had been waiting for someone to drop that question.

“A-about me?” she asked as Yun nodded
“I...” she trailed off

 

June’s POV

I looked at Haneul, YG ssaem’s daughter, as she watched our dance routine for “Rhtythm ta” – damn, how could someone be so pretty?

“Hyung” I whispered to Yun as we were doing the dance for the song.

Thank God, the music was loud enough or I’d be dead if Hanbin found out I was trying to talk during a serious rehearsal.

“Um?” Yun answered

“Please ask her more about herself like you are personally asking” I muttered

Fine, I was curious. First, life seemed boring this morning to the point I wanted to abandon everything and go back home and now there was this girl making me feel like a complete loser.

“Like what? Are you interested?” Yun asked keeping his eyes fixed on her

“Anything” I sighed

 

I nudged Yun who was lying on the floor , covered with sweat as he made a face

“Ask her yourself” he mouthed as I shook my head sternly

Firstly, I’m not good with girls and therefore I can't won't ask her anything.

Secondly, it’s okay if she thinks of Yun as a retard for asking that but she needs to have a good impression of me.

Thirdly, point one and two.

“I am from Miami, I’m doing my studies there with my eomma...I came to Korea to study for a year or two maybe” Haneul paused as June nudged Yun

“So you won’t go back?” Yun asked

“I didn’t say that...though I wish I could” she chuckled.

“So you’re gonna come here every day till then?” Chanwoo asked as Haneul looked at him

“I want to...can I?” she asked excitedly as Donghyuk nodded
“Sure you can” he ruffled her hair.
