Chapter 4: Seoul and the city lights.

 

Four hours into Seoul was all I needed to get back those memories. Four hours.

Junhoe.

 

“You’re back?” Yun asked as the leader entered the room

‘Oh yeah...” Hanbin smiled a bit

“Welcome back” June smiled as guilt rushed over him

“Um-m” he smiled nodding awkwardly

 

Hanbin is always awkward with me. I don’t know why either. Is he still mad at me because of Haneul’s incident? Even two years later?

 

FLASHBACK:

“What’s wrong with you, June? What are you doing?” Hanbin asked, anger all over his face.

“We broke up and there’s nothing I want to say about it anymore” June said standing up ready to leave.

“How can you just send her a text and dump her and disappear from her life like that huh?!” Hanbin literally shouted as June looked at him

“I know what I am doing hyung, please keep out from our matter” June sighed when Hanbin grabbed his collar

“Yah-yah” Bobby said getting in between as he pulled Hanbin away

“Go, June” Bobby said nodding assumingly at the visual as Hanbin glared at June

“I swear you’ll regret this one day Koo Junhoe, you’ll regret it so much but it’ll be too late then...I swear” Hanbin said angrily

“You’ll regret leaving Haneul”

 

Haneul.

Haneul was the pretty girl I dated two years back...in the spring of 2015.

It’s sad, not talking to the person you thought you’d marry. Not having a clue about the person you thought you’d spend the rest of your life with.

It’s more like she died for me, and maybe I died for her too. She’s probably happy now, she probably hates me now for what I did.

I know it was stupid of me to do that...getting back to my ex because I was pressurised to surrender to rumours, I left the girl I loved so much for the girl I was dating for two years now but I could never find a home within her...

I loved Haneul. Not anyone.

“You know it’s just strange that you two decide to suddenly call me over to dinner” Haneul sighed as she stressed over what dress she should wear while talking to her mom on the phone.

“You know it’s been so long since we ate together so your dad and I just thought it’d be great to catch up some fam time together” her mom said calmly on the other line.

“It’s been just one day after I came to Korea and you’re already dragging me through plans, I swear I’m moving back to Miami in a month, eomma” Haneul sighed

“Are you alright?” her mom asked worriedly

“I just don’t like the Seoul air anymore, I’ll be there by 5” she said as her mom answered in agreement

“Saranghae” she said before hanging up.

 

Making my way into appa’s apartment, I smiled as I caught the glimpse of my mom and dad sitting together after so long, when was the last time we were together like this?

 

“Come, sit here” her mom patted smiling at her as Haneul caught sight of Hanbin on the table
“E-even you?” Haneul muttered as Hanbin smiled nodding

“Annyeong appa” Haneul smiled brightly as her dad smiled nodding at her

“Okay first tell me what’s the occasion and why even oppa is here?” Haneul asked

“Yah, we are just having a friendly dinner and why can’t Hanbin join us? He’s much family to us too you know” her mom said making Hanbin smile proudly as Haneul nodded giving up.

“I’m gonna go get coffee, Oppa accompany me” Haneul said standing up from the sofa and looking at Hanbin

“Go” Haneul’s mom smiled nodding as Hanbin smiled standing up

“Sure” he said as the couple walked out.

“I still don’t believe eomma and appa decided to have a family dinner together tonight at home” Haneul chuckled as Hanbin looked at her

“Why? Isn’t it normal for you guys to have dinner together?”

"Ladies first" Hanbin smiled as he opened the door for Haneul to walk out as he followed her, making her laugh.

“Thank you boyfriend” Haneul smiled interlacing their arms together

“Well because, I once heard them fighting over the phone and things don’t seem to be going well since” Haneul sighed as Hanbin looked at her

“Don’t worry it’ll all be fine” he smiled as Haneul looked at him

“What would I do without you” she chuckled as Hanbin made a face.

“Damn, we really look like wrapped up buns” Haneul sighed as she looked their reflections on the glass window of the cafe – both of them wrapped in mufflers and facemasks to avoid fans who might recognize them.

“Two black coffee and two cappuccino” Haneul said showing two fingers to the guy at the reception as they waited for their order when

“One cappuccino” a voice said as Haneul turned to the guy as their eyes met

“Here’s your coffee” the guy said as Hanbin took the coffee

“Babe lets go” he whispered as Haneul quickly turned around taking the cups before dragging her boyfriend out.

“What’s wrong?” Hanbin asked as Haneul continued dragging her boyfriend as she panicked

 

We can’t meet each other that easily...Koo Junhoe

 

“Babe?” Hanbin asked as Haneul sighed looking at Hanbin

“I’m just sorry ...” she breathed when she felt Hanbin’s hand on her head, patting it.

“He won’t know” he smiled reassuringly as Haneul looked at him, tears b.

“You knew?” she asked as Hanbin nodded, a small smile on his face

“Let’s go” he said taking her hand in his.
