Chapter 11: Make you proud.

 

Haneul walked out of the elevator and walked outside when
“It’s not safe for a girl to walk alone at night” his voice said sending chills down her spine
“J-June?” she muttered as his tall physique stood in front of her

“Here, coffee to keep you warm” June said pushing a cup of coffee towards her as she looked at him

“I’m fine thanks, I’ll just get a cab and get home” Haneul said as June looked at her

“And get kidnapped and abducted?” June asked as Haneul continued walking forward

“Trust me, I’ve heard Seoul’s become such a dangerous city, gangsters in alleys, robbers in sidewalks, ghosts in gutters—” June said when Haneul turned back and grabbed the coffee

“That’s more like it” June chuckled as Haneul walked with him

“You’re so annoying” Haneul muttered under her breath

“It’s annoying when you act like you don’t know me either” June said as Haneul continued walking

“You know, I never stoop too low to tell people to do this and do that. Even if I don’t like it, I try to keep it to myself” June said as Haneul looked at him

“I didn’t like that you guys kissed just there” June said as Haneul breathed annoyed

“What’s so wrong with couples kissing? Don’t you and Hayi do it all the time too?” Haneul asked as she angrily took a sip of her coffee

“We only hold hands” June said innocently as Haneul sighed walked forward before she suddenly stopped seeing the drunk figure coming towards them
“Oh young lady” the drunk voice said as Haneul gaped at the drunk stranger when she felt a hand creep to hers

“Leave my girl alone if you don’t want to see a piece of hell” June muttered as the man turned to him

“I was just talking to her ya know” the drunkard said as June pulled her away from the scene

“”J-June” Haneul called as the guy continued dragging her

“JUNHOE!” she shouted as June paused looking back at her

“It’s okay now” Haneul said as she looked his hand that was holding hers

“Oh” June muttered as he let her hand go

“Thanks” Haneul said smiling a bit as June looked at her

“You changed a lot” he said as Haneul turned her gaze at him

“What do you mean?” she asked as June smiled shaking his head

“Nothing...just it’s strange... not talking with you all these time” he said looking away as Haneul nodded

“How have you been?” she asked as June nodded
“Fine, I guess...” he smiled as Haneul stared at him

 

That smile I fell in love with two years ago. I know this was wrong, I know flashbacks on repeat was not a right thing to do...but why am I so helpless in front of him?

Why can’t I forget him yet?

 

“There’s my place right there” Haneul said as they stopped outside the apartment

“You stay with Hanbin?” June asked making a face

“Not really, he’s always at the dorm so I’m stay over here temporarily” Haneul said as June smiled nodding

“I hope we can still be friends?” he asked as Haneul nodded
“Sure...good night then” she said as she turned around

“Haneul” June called as she turned to him

“Take care” he said as Haneul nodded before walking to her house.

June sighed as he turned around and walked off

 

What do I have to do to get you back?

Haneul and Hanbin walked together with the boys and Hayi towards the stadium for the rehearsals because of a ‘not-so-great’ idea by Hayi and ‘I-won’t-go-without-my-dongsaeng’ display by oppa material Bobby.

“Let’s get ready!” Jinan said on the mic as Hayi clapped happily

“Let’s see how well you do” Hayi winked at June as Haneul turned away and looked at Hanbin

“Fighting babe” she mouthed as Hanbin chuckled nodding

The music to iKON’s ‘M.U.P’ started as Haneul and Hayi looked at the guys perform

Nothing better nothing better” Bobby sang dragging the leader back to the platform as Haneul laughed clapping her hands enjoying the song

I promise you that one day” June sang as he fixed eyes with Haneul as she felt her face heat up

“Girl I’m gon make you proud” June sang as Haneul gulped

*Look away, Haneul look away* she chanted not being able to disconnect from the gaze of the blonde vocalist

She remembered the boys doing their rehearsals for the same song two years back, how could she forget that day...

 

“I’ll make you proud one day Haneul, maybe today I’m just a pre-debut idol but years from now, aniya...months from now I’ll debut as an idol who has eyes only for his one and only yeoja...Yang Haneul” his voice from the past echoed

“I love you June”

“I love you Haneul”

 

“WOOO” Hayi cheered snapping her back to reality
