Chapter 30
FATEDMi Joo’s POV
“Thank you! Thank you!” I say gratefully, waving to the fans who have come to our latest comeback showcase, ‘A New Trilogy’ as I exit from the performing stage. The rest of the girls are also stating their gratitude towards the fans while leaving the platform. As always, we are thankful for our fans’ non-stop constant love and support for us. Competition is fierce as expected since we are up against strong groups again but we have faith in our fans to help us gain our very first win.
I am taking out the earpiece and microphone with the members in front of me doing the same as well. My pace slows down when I realise a couple strands of my dark chocolate hair are stuck between the wires. I almost curse out loud when the tangled mess is getting worse by the minute as I try to undo it. I stop my footsteps to sort out this disastrous knot, releasing my full concentration to work on it.
“Can I help you?” A deep rich voice fills with familiarity speaks which soon comes a pleasant masculinity scent that drifts through the air. I meet his bright orbs which causes my heart to palpitate just like the first time.
“Sure, Mark.” I grin through the words. His gentle touch upon untying my knotted hair makes my skin shiver. I watch him with such admiration and delight as his eyes are focus on it. He beams when he notices the way my orbs sparkle. Gosh, he just looks so stunning and beautiful in his black ripped jeans and plain white cotton shirt, his hair so perfectly messy.
“All done,” Mark says as he tidies my hair. I ignore the fact that my eyes are still twinkling and my heart still pounding rapidly even though he stops all his motions and just looks at me with much fascination.
“I do not remember giving you a free pass to the showcase,” I state playfully, biting my lips. Before, I have indirectly joke to him about letting him come to the showcase (but only the backstage) in which I did not expect him to come at all.
“It must be destiny then, to meet you here,” Mark replies with a wink. “Say, will you want to go on a date with me tonight?” Mark proposes sincerely.
“Ah, it sure is destiny because my answer will be yes, I will love to go on a date with you tonight,” I respond with the same sense of humour, slightly chuckling at my horrible reply. This is all Mark Tuan’s fault. “See you in thirty minutes at the carpark?” I say which sounds more like a statement rather than an inquiry.
“Oh, Mi Joo, you know where to find me,” Mark declares teasingly. I walk away from him, back to the waiting room to prevent myself from hearing his nonsensical remarks any further.
After everything is settled; pictures to take with friends, families and staff members, I stride my way to the carpark in a changed uniform with a red handbag slinging over my shoulder. I spot Seung Hoon, Got7’s manager, a distance away, waiting for me patiently outside the black van. It becomes a routine for him to bring the both of us to that specific building whenever we want to spend time together.
“That is exactly thirty minutes,” Mark says dryly, showing me the time through his phone when I get in the van.
“People around me keep asking for my signature or a photo. I cannot help it if I am that popular, sweetie,” I reply nicely, batting my eyelashes which earns a scowl from Mark. Seung Hoon watches us in amusement when he hears our conversation.
Throughout the journey, I learn that the destiny which allows Mark and I to have the opportunity to see each other is by the works of Seung Hoon. He explains to me that he receives an invitation from Hun Seok, my group’s manager, to grant Mark entering the backstage. I have no clue that Mark is in the same place as me the whole time since Hun Seok did not inform me about it.
“Why did you not come and see me then?” I question, a tinge of disappointment can be perceives in my tone. I pout slightly, poking Mark on the arm which causes a
